Chiverton tap never disappoints. It welcomes everybody. Great selection of cask ale. Good atmosphere. Almost always something good yet different on the bar. Staff generally superb. Exclusively British fayre; no foreign muck. Only complaints would be that it can be too “dog friendly” & the bar can feel like a post office counter at times due to the wooden uprights.

We went to Rainbow 88 for the Sunday buffet as a party of 7 and a baby. Food was okay, service was fine. My issue was the charge when the bill arrived for my one year old of £8. When we asked about this we were told rather abruptly that it's 'on the menu' well yes it is on the menu but we presumed this was a charge for children who are actually eating the buffet. No this is a 'donation' enforced on all your children even the ones who aren't actually eating. I have never been to a restaurant that sticks a donation on the end of your bill for a baby. Yes it's for the Christie, yes it's for a good cause but £8 for a baby to sit there?! Bizarre. Oh and I had to change my babies nappy on 2 pushed together chairs in the women's toilet under the hand dryer as they have no baby change facilities. Very unhygienic and unsafe. All in all we have been a few times as a family for birthdays etc but I don't think we will go again. Or maybe we will go back when my child can actually eat so he can get good value out of his £8 donation. The Magician was great

We have been using the mickerbrook for many years and have always been satisfied with the food, however the last few occasions have left us unsatisfied due the carvers carving the meat wafer thin living it tasteless and pitiful I would be happy to pay more for a satisfactory amount of meat.

Went in for a large fish and chips, then had to nip out to get some cash. On my return I double checked it was large fish and chips as it was for 2 people and the young girl said it was just one price. They don't actually sell large fish and chips but there would be enough for 2 people. When I got home I was so shocked at what I got for £10.80 I did order a small tub of gravy but the fish and chips was not worth the money at all. I've never had to complain or write a review but I was just gobsmacked. Whenever I've ordered chips on their own I have got more than what I got with the fish. I feel as we are being ripped off every which way you turn. They are probably charging extortionate prices because the supplier is doing the same so they have to follow suit. I don't think I'll be going back there in a hurry.

I would give this establishment a one star review however this is unfair on the kind and welcoming staff and pub patrons to help keep the Kenilworth are warm and bubbly environment. However are very rude and rather strange owner/manager really brings this place down for quite petty reasons that should be standard for a place that was originally created for a public house When me and my friends came to this pub we could’ve gone to town or any other place in the local area however we chose this pub as my girlfriend‘s family are regular goers and I know quite a few of the people that go to drink here so it is always a laugh when I turn up Before going to buy some food from the local takeaway me and my friends had spent 30+ pound on drinks each we went to a takeaway to refuel and I got my girlfriend some food as alcohol especially vodka affects her in the way that makes her throw up pass out and eating helps avoid this, we went back in after for a lot more drinks too When we sat down A pub Patreon told us that we could go get some knives and forks from a basket inside and we asked if it was alright and he said yes we got the knives and forks I had my food whilst waiting for my girlfriend The pub owner/manager came over and snatched the knives and forks from the table which was outside out of the way and made quite rude remarks to us. As I am using the Cutlery I do not mind cleaning it. I was also not very aware that the pub was serving food at that time which was another reason why I went to a takeaway For me this isn’t the first time this owner has been unreasonably rude to me about a year ago I went into the pub asking for a Fanta which he’s straight up refused to serve me as he didn’t know me which is quite offputting for anyone who is new to the area I wants to try out a new pub. As I said before my girlfriends family come here daily I had to get a friend to go in the pub for me to get me a soft drink not an alcoholic one I don’t know if the owner has any personal or past problems that has turned into such a grouch but I don’t see the need and being so rude to people that are literally trying to support his business but keep his promises clean as when I arrived to the table next to the darts there was litter. Bags of open peanuts all over the floor which I had to clean up and throw into the male bathroom whilst having a nut allergy myself I am still going to support and go to this pub as I like the people and the other staff members here who try their best to keep it a good environment if the owner has any problem of this review I have published today please come speak to me about it in person I would be willing and happy to have a chat about it

Well, myself and fiancé got treated terribly. This was for me as a qualified medical professional. Whom was helping a poorly man. Yes I agree that he was drunk. However he hit his head on the table whilst falling over. He was very confused and didnt know his name, age or the day of the week. In my opinion he needed to go to hospital. All we were met with was aggression. Especially when I was on the call to the emergency services. This was by both Managers! I don't think they expected us to defend ourselves accordingly. I would never put up with being challenged or spoken to in that way by anyone. Apparently we are barred now lol .We will never go back anyway. Just no care or respect at all, either of them. I obviously inconvenienced them near closing time and they wanted to close up. That to the was more important than a poorly customer. Plus, I am 100% confident that any of my facebook friends who are Doctors, Nurses, surgeon's and anesthetist's will back me up that his symptoms were a massive red flag. This is now the 3rd time I have put this review, it keeps getting deleted from their website and their Facebook page. That's not very honest of them either is it?

We have been getting our Chinese from Happy House every week for about 15 years and I must say we have eventually stopped. About a year ago we noticed that things had changed, I don't know whether there was a change in ownership as people have changed but the food is not as good as it was - the salt and pepper ribs are now dry and tasteless, the sweet and sour sauce is watery and the special fried rice is greasy. It upsets me to write this review but I do believe that unless you say something nothing will change and we have been unable to find a Chinese like Happy House anywhere else and really want to come back and £40 a week is a lot to loose to some businesses.
