The Micker Brook in Stockport

We have been using the mickerbrook for many years and have always been satisfied with the food, however the last few occasions have left us unsatisfied due the carvers carving the meat wafer thin living it tasteless and pitiful I would be happy to pay more for a satisfactory amount of meat.

Asked for an isolated table as I had two people in my party that has autism,,,, they did that for me It was one of my sons 21st birthday meal , and I have to say it was fully enjoyable We had a table of 9 we all had different meals to each other We had a child’s pizza meal which he loved! And watched the staff making them We had a couple of pizzas , a few different burgers and a few carverys All reasonably priced and got pizzas half price on a Tuesday Staff engaged with my children , they was all so nice Many thanks for a lovely evening

Came in on Monday and the food was lovely, service from Scott was superb.

We had a lovely breakfast at the mickerbrook, definitely one of our favourite places for a breakfast. Staff are always lovely and the food is always really nice. Today we were served by Lori and Jess and they were really helpful and polite, thankyou girls for the great service x

Great selection of beers and the food was awesome great service from the young lady behind the bar I think her names lori greeted with a smile on her face and her welcoming presence exceeded beyond great. Will definitely be coming back.

Lovely breakfast kind and helpful staff.

Nice roast. 4 meats. Pork, gammon, turkey or beef. Reasonable prices. Decent vegetables, roast potatoes and mash potatoes. Yummy thick gravy. Pub done up about 18 months ago. Decor decent inside. Order at the bar and get drinks along with a ticket. Get up and queue for tge carvery when you are ready. Decent place Regular carvery during the week £9.50. Small one is £7.00. Good value for money.

Very efficient service, food options for breakfast were great, and everything at the buffet was really tasty and hot, which isn’t always the case at buffet places! Served by Roger (so sorry if I’ve spelt this wrong), who was incredibly friendly and very attentive. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Fantastic Service! Came for breakfast and they didn’t make me feel awkward for intolerances etc and had plenty of alternatives ready. Fab selection of hot food and good coffee. Raja very cheery and attentive!

I wish I could give more stars for how lovely and welcoming the lady at the counter was (Lori) this lady had a lovely attitude about her.

Carvery was spot on. 5 of us had carvery. I ordered lasagne but it was a bit disappointing as it was all sauce no meat and not much pasta

Great carvery and great value. Had Crackling which I've never seen at a carvery before, and 4 types of meats to choose from. The full works carvery only £15.99. Plenty of seats and have the football on. Ice cream stand aswell so be a good outing for the family.

Excellent food, great choices on carvery, something for everyone! Some wonderful daily deals! Staff very friendly and chatty! We were served by Ellen, a lovely young lady who was behind the bar and then on the restaurant floor keeping tables clean. My hubby was impressed because he had all 4 meats that were available! Lots of hot veg, potatoes both mash and roast and plenty of hot gravy! Will definitely visit again…

If only the food was as good as emma was. Super attentive and helped out when I knocked my drink everywhere. "Full works" carvery was shocking. Pathetic portion of meal. All veg over cooked. Could have drank the mash with a straw. Honestly waste of £50. Carver making a big deal over a ticket I wasn't given then just binned it anyway without looking lol

Had our daughters 1st birthday in the function room at the back of the pub and George the bartender was nothing less than perfect he did everything he could to help out set up and from serving to placing out the buffet he did everything spot on couldn’t thank him enough will definitely be returning in the future

Julie was such an amazing host! She was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we neeeded! Julie was very pleasant to talk to and very very polite! Such a lovely waitress and so amazing at her job!

I come here once a month for a breakfast and it is always superb. It is all you can eat so is also excellent value for money. Good service from Gerry behind the bar as well. Would highly recommend visiting this pub.

Lori was really lovely. Food was fantastic as always.

This place is literally on our doorstep but we hardly ever visit, but each time we do we remember why. The service is so slow and the lad that serves on the carvery is so miserable and rude, no hello, no smile, no please or thank you. Food is okay, but they really need to sort out their hospitality. This lad needs waking up to customer service.

As a regular customer of the mickerbrook I am normally quiet happy with the food and service we get. Today however is a different story I Have witnessed a member of staff coughing and spluttering whilst carry food to tables and I'm pretty sure she hasn't washed her hands as she was straight in and out of the kitchen then to top it of a member of staff who wasn't on shift and had just come in for a meeting had his hands and fingers in the roast potatoes then continued to eat over the veg whilst talking about his shift time. I don't think this is appropriate to be doing in a restaurant. Normally it's a lovely place to eat staff are all very friendly and happy it has put me off Thinking of food hygiene so on this visit only 2 stars.

Absolutely disgusting service. Booked for Sunday lunch yesterday, missed 1 child off the booking accidently. Got seated in a booth for 7 of us and a high chair. Asked if we could be moved, granted it was Sunday tea time. The lady asked the "Manager" (term i use very loosely) she came back and said she it would be 10 minutes. My husband went to check with the "Manager" if there was anywhere else we could sit to which he then replied it will be half an hour. We decided to leave as we had hungry kids, (toddlers) and couldn't wait 30 mins. What happened next is my absolute favourite.... We left and the "Manager" said to the next people in line..."that guys a dick head" about my husband. Is what he didn't realise is the people next in line, we're friends of ours. So to the "Manager" with curly hair, I will be going ABOVE the restaurant and pub and directly to the chain. Well done on being a disgusting human. 10 points for despicable behavior. Edit: Arron was the "manager" in question.

Pretty average breakfast, but enjoyable enough! Can’t really go wrong with eggs and waffles but would be nice to have more vegetarian options, ie alternative milk and margarine. Staff are helpful and friendly including gentleman who checked and cleared the table.

Lovely service from Jess/Lori//Emma/Kelly. The restaurant was so hot it killed our appetites though and the carvery wasn't great...good selection but the beef was stringy and fatty and the yorkshire was rock solid veg was decent.

Went here 23rd January for birthday meal. Only 1 meet left on carvery (it was 6.30 in the evening). We ordered dessert of apple pie and custard and a bubble waffle sundae and were given forks to eat as no clean spoons available! When we said that we couldn't use the forks. We were given 2 large spoons between 4 of us. I use this place regularly and always have good food and service, so this was quite a shock

I’m 66 and been going to the Micker Brook for years. It’s the best it’s ever been in my mind and I’ve always enjoyed going there. I had a huge 50 Birthday there years ago. It’s a great place in my mind. I recently reviewed, on this visit I was served by a Manager who asked me to leave a review. Thank You Thank You Michelle, Matt and Sertin

A regular visitor and happy evertime.

Have been visiting for dinner couple times - nice staffs and nice foods. Decided to attend the Breakfast with Santa on the Christmas eve. Booking was made online and confirmed for time slot 10:00 - 12:00. Couple weeks before the booking, queried with staff if booking could be changed to half hours earlier - was told impossible due to the full booking, which, totally understandable and fine. Arrived on Christmas eve on time and went to the table, spent around 20 - 30 mins on ordering and getting the foods, only after starting the meal, staff came and informed us that they will need the table by 11am for another booking - WHICH WAS NEVER MENTIONED BEFORE - not when confirming my booking, not when querying for alternative time, even not when we arrived on that day. We agreed to return the table by time ONLY because we did not want the kids having a bad memory for the long-expected Breakfast with Santa event but such arrangement is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND DISAPPOINTING. Emailed the restaurant to express disappointment and receive zero respond.

Great carvery to fill yourself up on. Usually go every couple of months , the last 2 visits it definitely has improved & a really good selection of meat & veggies. Staff always friendly. Only reason I gave 4 stars & not 5 stars was our table had no cutlery & had to take from another table & noticed one of the knifes was dirty otherwise would of give top marks. You have a choice of gammon , pork, beef & turkey , loads of veggies , mash or roast potatoes, gravey , & selection of sauce apple, mint , cranberry. Very good value

Went for the pizza making for a birthday party and our host was George. He was very attentive and engaging even though it was busy in the restaurant. The chef and Jess at the bar were also very helpful. Pizzas were very nice, cooked beautifully. Will definitely be back 💯.

Staff are always very friendly. We were served by Matt, Lori, Sadie and Ruslana today and they were all so helpful with my mum and walked her through downloading the app to get a discount. So lovely and chatty- made our experience better.

Lori that served us at the bar was excellent, friendly and helpful. The chef are the carvery was not so pleasant, no eye contact and grunted, 2 small dry slices of meat, the veg was a little better, disappointed, don't think we will visit again in a hurry

Visited here again today. Food was great and cannot complain about the price, very reasonable. The service was spot on and our server Sadie was very friendly & accommodating.
