The best restaurants in St. Helens North West

Used to go here weekly as a kid when it was Huxleys, Been a few times since it's been Tanans and was ok, we decided to try again as our usual is in widnes which is a bit far.l and had less time to travel over. Wish we had traveled, some chips where a little hard in places and undercooked, peas like bullets and absolutely horrible and the fish was greasy and tasted of vegtable oil. Staff were welcoming and service was good, but totally disappointed with £26 spent, I won't go back there.

Loved this little bar for quite a while now however it's appeal seems to be dropping. This is a very versatile venue; all are welcome which is great; it's one of its assets however the barman is the most miserable in the whole town. Maybe this could be an attraction for the venue but, to us that come here regularly, he's hard work and hard to feel glad to have come in here rather than the other places on offer.

Lovely food, lovely people, great place. Well priced, spotless clean and good understanding of dietary and allergy needs.

Usually top notch but every now and then get super crispy reheated chips. Don’t understand why they do this…..?

A fabulous meal, from a menu full of choice. Fun and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Great relaxing atmosphere. We'll certainly return.

Went for lunch with my wife and grandson. Excellent food and fabulous value for money. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Would highly recommend the fish and chips and the beef in onion gravy in a giant Yorkshire pudding. Will be trying out the breakfast very soon 👍

We had Special sweet & sour with B/R & Hot chow mein plus the best ever Prawn Crackers Ever. Fantastic people who run the Takeaway.

We used to be regular visitors and enjoyed nice food in a relaxing atmosphere. We had a vegetarian breakfast and were surprised at how little good was on the plate along with just one piece of toast. We should have compost but didnt. Instead we will complain with our feet and not return. It was also really annoying that there was noisy children running around.

I just want to say thank you to the girls at the coffee house, I struggle drinking coffee but the girls go out of their way to accommodate me by helping me, THANK YOU 😊

This is an absolute gem of a place. So well run by Phil and Karen. So friendly and knowledgable, Such a comfortable place to spend a few hours sampling many craft ales

While the food from this takeaway is normally excellent…they got my order wrong and delivered the incorrect food and then refused to sort out the problem. Very disappointing so avoid at all costs
