The best restaurants in Newton St. Helens North West

When he’s hangry, we go to Shakey J’s because my partner can eat a burger the size of his head. Absolutely amazing food! Staff are friendly, attentive & pleasant. I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough. If you’ve not been yet, go!

Fantastic fish, chips gravy and barm. The fish was so tasty, one of the nicest i've had in recent years and the chips were perfect.

We've never had a bad meal from Willow Dragon. The food is so good and reasonably priced, too, compared to other places we've been. Staff are always so lovely.

Ordered a Sunday Roast delivery. Arrived within the allotted time, piping hot and very tasty. Great portion size, brilliant value for money. Would recommend ordering from Dentons Deli

Always a warm welcome, drinks are reasonable, friendly atmosphere. Have always enjoyed a few drinks when popping on the High street.

Used Just Eat. Was in alone and decided to treat myself. I have a sweet tooth so as well as a nice lunch I wanted somewhere with nice desserts and that's what I got!! All superb!

This was our 2nd visit to this cafe/restaurant and this visit was almost as good (as this time they had run out of paninis ). as we were so impressed last time . but saying that they where very busy and it was between chistmas and new year when we visited we all had a combination of the tasted sandwiches which were really good service was excellant and time for drinks and food to arrive was also good highly recommended

lovely atmosphere, everyone staff and patrons were so friendly and welcoming. we aren't from the area and came in to see a friend but it was like we were part of the community it was lovely

The Victoria is a beautiful, relaxed pub with amazing staff who look after you everytime! Would recommend The Victoria every day of the week!

I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed indeed I've just moved here .and thought I fancy fish n chips my carer decided she would like sweet n sour chicken egg fried rice and chips .well my fish n chips .the fish was dry the batter was like a tough yorkshire pudding batter it was chewy and tasteless .the chips we both had were stone cold and squashed together .the grease on the paper was seeping .someone needs to take this seriously .now for the Chinese that was good but not top notch .its a pity really I should of gone for the Chinese which I love but didn't feel that hungry with the weather being so hot. So please change either the way you cook the fish n chips .or stick to doing Chinese. There is a fish n chip shop just 70 yards along .mabey next time il go there and compare .I'm sure it'll be to a good standard

On multiple occasions, my friends and I were repeatedly asked to show our IDs—sometimes more than once during the same visit. While we understand and fully support ID checks to ensure legal drinking age, the way a certain member of staff handled it felt excessive and frankly patronising. Again, this has happened on multiple occasions. The tone was condescending, and it created an uncomfortable atmosphere that completely ruined what should have been a casual and enjoyable evening. There are plenty of pubs in the area that treat their customers with a basic level of respect. Sadly, this one isn’t among them.

Worst salt and pepper chips I've ever tasted. Way too much salt., not edible. Disgusting, waste of money. Went straight in the bin.
