Great little pub a gem in Penwortham

Fantastic breakfast this morning. The new owner and team are doing a brilliant job - great food, brilliant coffee and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back again soon and can’t understand why anyone would buy coffee from COSTA across the road 😂

Just called for a drink this teatime. Hubby went to the bar no beer on draft only lager as he only drinks beer we just left. This is about the 4th time in recent months that this has happened it will be the last as we will no longer be going hoping that they have beer on. Lorraine

Andreas has been since Ive been alive (1985!) and I am yet to find a better chippy. We don't live local anymore so only visit on special occasions when visiting family. The chips, fish and steak pudding (my usual) is unbeatable. Add to that the level of service provided by Andreas, family and staff and there is nowhere better. It is no wonder he is a pillar of the community and has so many regulars. Only problem sometimes is it is too busy especially on a Friday teatime - but the chips are worth the wait!

It's my local and does everything you'd want your local to do, including always being accommodating to families like us.

Tasty, but lack of good vegetarian options... As an Italian restaurant, I want cheese! But most vegetarian options have been replaced with vegan options that are the same price and then you have to pay extra for cheese ☹️ sad. Why can they not have veggie AND vegan options?

Busy chain pub, beer quality no so good but staff & service great.

I’ve been a member of Ribby Hall for several years now. Every time we try to order a pizza on the Ribby Hall App it says there are no time slots. Then when you try to ring it just rings out. On the last 3 occasions I witnessed staff simply not answering the phone. Then they claim there’s a problem with the phones. Today we tried to order a pizza on the app and weren’t able to. When I went to collect the pizza that we had to order in person, there was a female member of staff making pizzas with no gloves on. She also handled money and failed to wash her hands before continuing to make the pizzas. There was only myself and another customer waiting to be served. Two male members of staff just looked at us rather than asking us what our order numbers were. There was food ready to go under the serving lamps but myself and the other customer had to physically ask them to hand over our food. It’s like we were invisible. They clearly hate their jobs and get no satisfaction from it at all. If this place was on the main high street I think it would have gone bust by now. The staff here are rude and lazy. As I walked towards the bar with my food one of the staff followed me and heard me speaking to one of the staff on reception. He then started trying to argue with me about the appalling service. I would rather drive to Blackpool to Dominoes than use this place again. Nothing but lazy obnoxious staff!

Pizza was made mega quick and both were superb. Great offers on the app. Read a lot of negative reviews but can't fault my personal experience 🍕
