Just what we needed in Penwortham. Micro pub with fantastic selection of well kept ales and a friendly welcome. Platters are amazing and great value. Also good selection of gins and spirits. It's always busy nowadays so best book ahead !!

Small place but even when busy almost always manage to get a seat. Atmosphere is great and selection of drinks good for too.

This is my favourite place in penwortham to go for a drink. Small rustic pub with a great atmosphere and very nice lunches.

Nice small bar very busy but was able to find seats, good selection of beers warm and friendly.

Good beer, changes regularly, well kept, friendly bar staff, small outside seating area (when village centre improvement works take place then this will be even more attractive). Only down side is that it's quite small, so a couple of dozen customers makes it pretty full - that's the drawback of being a popular spot. Called in on 23 November '23, they have now added to and improved their outdoor seating area - much better protection from the elements. Useful, because it was pretty packed at 9:30 last night 🍻

As with everything else prices gone up.but regulars don't seem concerned.noisy when busy

Always a friendly welcome here and good to see they have kept up a great range of ales and food. The mixed platters are ace and now added children's portions at fabulous prices. Look forward to taking the grand daughter. Best bar in penwortham.

Beautiful cosy friendly place- the owner (apologies didnt catch the name!) so friendly and accommodating, even let me eat my takaway pasta inside whilst we waited for my uber!! would recommend spending your night here

Popped in earlier today, absolutely delish, platters were amazing (see pic) minus one Fish Finger sandwich as it was so good I forgot to take a photo. Everyone else in my party loved it, the bartender was lovely and so was the cook. Would give another star if I could!

Great Local Pub my dad's favourite, which changes the ale regularly and a good range of wines and spirits. Lovely friendly staff and a lovely environment to have a drink. Highly recommend if you are in the local area or going for a meal in many of the local restaurants.

Cracking ale House, lots of choice and tasters given. Friendly staff, plenty of seating and food that passed looked amazing too..... but only stopped for a drink, or two.

So cute ! I can suggest this tiny pub to all the italians...good beer, food, kind service. Cleaner than other pubs .

Had lunch here last week. It was a delightful experience. We were greeted pleasantly by staff who were happy, smiling and eager to please. The owner, also a pleasant chap, even asked us if we were warm enough. The food was plentiful, (we had a sharing platter) fresh produce, beautifully presented.

Very busy bar with decent heated seating area outside. Worth a visit.

Nice choices of ales and lagers, lots of gins and other spirits. Only down side it is very small and no much space to move.

Has come through covid and is possibly even stronger. Easily the best bar in an area getting lots of inward investment into the eating and drinking industry. Long may it thrive.

Wanted somewhere to have a meal and catch-up with some friends. We were assigned a table in a very noisy bar which wasn't conducive to our requirements so we went elsewhere. However, it was very lively for a Friday night so if that's your thing, this is the place to be!

They are prompt with the orders, always accommodating with the seating and food is always delicious. Great atmosphere every time we visit and it’s always our go-to place in Penwortham for a catch up with friends - or each other !

Long awaited catch up with friends with food and drinks at this fantastic establishment. As always the food was delicious with generous portions and an excellent range of choice. This was all served with a friendly smile. The young staff were attentive, polite and professional. The whole atmosphere and service made for a wonderful evening. Will definitely be back soon. Sam C

Can’t recommend this pub highly enough. As regulars, we always receive the warmest of welcomes. Food and drink are great and staff are always lovely and a real credit to Debbie and her team. It’s great to see the people of Penwortham enjoying everything this fabulous pub has to offer and making us feel some kind of normal again. True community spirit.

I love visiting the Tap and Vine. It’s a perfect place to meet friends. The service is always so friendly and the choice of wines and gins are excellent. They also serve different beers if that’s your tipple. The platters are delicious, very generous and great for sharing. Always a great night out.

Today we visited the Tap and vine in penwortham as we do every other weekend . Two local couples in our 50 s to 60s . We were there from 2 - 6pm , paying for every round as it came .. On leaving we were accosted by two members of staff around 20 yrs of age and accused in the street of not paying our bill . Myself and my male colleague both with 20 yrs experience as prison officers and our wives .A little taken aback by the accusation and the manor of the approach my colleague was not too enamoured by. We both returned to the establishment to be met by 5 - 6 young employees engaged in a case of 'who said I said they said ,not me ' and a 6ft 2 guy stationed at the end of the bar ,arms folded and focus directly on us . To anyone else maybe a confrontational intimidatory figure and stance convinced that the staff are correct and that there maybe trouble , therefore create a potential aggressive stance and persona . To me ,laughable . My colleague clearly upset remonstrates with the staff to be told by a young non wearing face mask barmaid 'to put his mask on ' . Wow. This is where things could escalate but my colleague being the professional that he is vacates the premises . I point out to a young waitress that she brought the drinks and took payment and it was the fact that they brought the wrong drinks that prompted her memory recall . Apologies all round . Have to say though as an employer ,we watched a string of heated discussions amongst the staff during our visit total disorganisation no clear leader and general mismanagement . This could have quite easily escalated into a more serious situation if, I would like to say, the customer was less amenable. A stressful time I agree ,but get your house in order and four less customers .

Very disappointed tonight. Been frequenting Tap and Vine since it first opened but sadly we will be avoiding in the future. We went in today as a group of 4 and spent 4 hours in the establishment. We paid for each round as it was delivered to our table. You can Imagine our embarrassment and humiliation as we left the venue when 2 members of staff came running out of the building and chased us to the pelican crossing saying we had not paid the bill. Absolutely gutted and annoyed at the accusation. Words fail me tbh.

Although drinking is only allowed outside due to covid ,they have managed to create a great atmosphere . The service is first class and beer is always kept well. Well done!

Tap and vine Penwortham delivery platters ordered today for my mums 70th and Mother’s Day! Very impressed with the quality of food and variety! Lovely delivery man and loved the special touch of posh chocolates for my mum. We would highly recommend the tap and vine, they have made our day very special, everything was delicious and I really think supporting our local businesses is the way forward to get the best quality foods and drink!! ❤️ Would highly recommend the tap and vine!!!

Ordered the local platter for 2 with 5 pints of Ghyll beer. Very tasty local produce pate, cheese, scotch egg , pork pie etc. The beer was light and went down very well. Delivery was on time , a neighbour had organised several orders to be delivered at once. Price was good

Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. food delicious. Highly recommend the take away menu as it is generous, varied and delightful.

Booked a table a couple of Sundays ago. Staff friendly atmosphere good. Covid secure and felt safe. Very cosy had the sharing platter and a few drinks. When latest restrictions are lifted will definitely visit again.

A real cosy little place which the owners have made the best of. Seating inside and out. Good selection of local and continental beer's and gins. Previously tried one of their excellent local platters but plan to try their pie and pea's next time. Well worth a visit.

Favourite place in Penwortham for a drink

Bought a large diet tonic water when I was about half way down it I noticed a large black speck of some foreign matter in it. Took it back to the bar, pointed out the problem. No offer to replace it or refund just a blank look. I left

Not good for picky eaters. Or people with nut allergies. Wouldn’t recommend for a proper meal it’s more for abit of somthing with a beer.

Enjoyed a good quality pint here today.

A good night spent in a great place

Cute bar, lovely atmosphere and they do a good Blue Moon pint. The sharing platters are supposed to be yummy, will try them next time.

We have visited the Tap and Vine since it opened and can't fault it. The staff are really friendly, it's immaculately clean and there's always a brilliant atmosphere. No wonder it's always busy. It's a lovely pub to visit all through the seasons - warm and cosy in winter and vibrant in the summer. I drink wine but my husband really enjoys the guest beers.

I've visited this gem of a spot a number of times since moving to the local area and it never fails to impress. The service is faultless and it is a great place to enjoy a drink at quieter times during the week or busier weekend evenings alike. I can HIGHLY recommend the food, very high standard indeed.

A favourite of ours in Penwortham. Cosy and friendly, and with a great range of drinks, it’s a place to pop into for a quick drink and end up staying all evening! Food is also good. Not an extensive menu but what they do serve is excellent and good value.
