One of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool.I have been to the one in Heswell a few times as well and both offer the best service The food is amazing, and so are the cocktails. I visited last year when I was pregnant and the bar man made me any mocktail I wanted. It wasn’t any bother to him at all.The croquettes are my favourite Please, if you ever visit Liverpool then come hereYou won’t be disappointed

A beautiful setting, and the atmosphere was outstanding. The service was excellent and I would especially point out that Donna the GM was exemplary in her role and that nothing was left out. 5 stars. I can't wait to go again this week with friends.

Dont go for the Tea’s - which are unlimited and fabulous. Dont go for the food - which is actually so delicious, seriously. Go for Jason! He is the heart and soul of the place, he is exuberant, funny, fabulous and friendly. We will be back, because of how amazing our service was.

We’ve been loyal customer of Villa Romana since it first opened in the 90s. Always consistently good - buzzing with energy, great food, and staff who made you feel genuinely welcome. Sadly, our recent visit left us disheartened. The staff, who once seemed attentive and enthusiastic, now come across as disinterested and inattentive. During our latest meal, Sunday 13th October, the service felt rushed, with little eye contact or engagement. It was almost as if they were doing us a favour by serving us. We waited an hour to be asked about desserts, and eventually gave up. In that hour we watched staff stand chatting to each other and three waitresses push napkins and glasses around an empty table. It’s such a shame to see how much the place has declined. The food was still decent, but without the warm atmosphere and attentive service it used to be known for, the experience felt hollow. We won’t be returning anytime soon, which is disappointing after so many years of good service and food.

The one thing about Liverpool City Centre is there are many interesting old pub's and the Cornmarket is one of the oldest and it's one of the best.Located on Old Ropery'the Cornmarket has a fantastic interior with an old world look and feel. The pub dates from the 18th century and is full of character. The interior to this historic pub has many interesting fixture's and lot's of original feature's.There's wood panelling that was taken from a clipper ship that was called the Reina Del Pacifico and excellent seating options. If you enter from Moor street this pub looks completely different as up to the 1960s this was the Bulls Head pub. This pub was taken over by the Cornmarket and has thrived as a pub since then.We have been visiting this pub for many years and it's just as good as it's ever been. We went to here early in the afternoon and it was very busy which is how we like places as the atmosphere is better when pubs are busy. When we visited we had a few glasses of Carling brewery lagers which where first rate and were reasonably priced. Its an excellent old world pub in a fantastic area of the city centre and it's a pub that's well worth going to.(This is my fourth review of the Cornmarket). Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-11.30-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. James Street Train Station Bus Stop-10A-10Q-18-26-N1. Train Station. James Street Train Station.

When the bar staff ignore you in favour of a larger group it's disappointing. I thank the young man being served who informed the staff I was before him. (The staff member was unapologetic). Sad to drop my rating. Not sure you can give a good rating to a place with such overwhelmed staff. So we went somewhere else. The service is poor and good luck getting politeness or efficiency. There was even a fellow ahead of me trying to place a large meal order complaining about the service. I formerly gave this venue four stars, but the service is non-existent.

Things have changed , i have been coming here for 20 years for the cheesey garlic bread and half and half. The gentleman said it wasn’t on the menu but he would add a bit if i wanted. True the prices have gone up and it wasn’t as busy . I hope this is not a downturn in trade as we love the place.
