Traditional, laid back pub which I can't believe I've only just found!

An old watering hole from years ago, went tonight. Great atmosphere and loved the evening. Walked out but lost my wallet. Went back, they've found it and kept safe. Thank you, very much. Cannot fault the evening.

Great place! Just had my Dad's 70th Birthday party at the weekend in their function room. We all had a really good night and the staff were great, put on a buffet for us and we could have our own music playing and plenty of room for everyone. Thank you for everything!

Just can't recommend this pub enough. Kevin, the owner is one of the most welcoming landlords in town. Sarah and Karen are two of the best barmaids you could wish to meet. The pub itself is full of old-world charm, warm and welcoming.

El Cornmarket Pub es un pub que siempre espero visitar en cualquier día de fiesta que tome en esta parte de la ciudad, he estado aquí antes en muchas ocasiones a lo largo de los años, siempre lo pasé bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita. Un pub de gran aspecto , un pub largo , dos habitaciones, una gran decoración y mobiliario, un bar de servicio de madera maciza en ambas habitaciones, características con paneles de madera, pantallas grandes para disfrutar del deporte y un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este pub , es simplemente un pub realmente bueno para relajarse. Pedimos Carling Brewery lager, estos se servían en excelentes condiciones siendo helados fríos y espumosos, nos relajamos y empapamos de la gran vibra en este concurrido y popular pub mientras bebíamos nuestras cervezas. No es mi tipple normal, más una cerveza artesanal o un verdadero fan de la cerveza pero realmente disfruté de esta cerveza estilo lager, tan sabrosa, que fue tan bueno estar en un pub tan encantador disfrutando de una deliciosa cerveza y me senté con mi hermano gemelo, mejor compañero de cerveza del mundo. Realmente disfrutamos de nuestras cervezas aquí antes de seguir adelante y como en cada otra visita a The Cornmarket Pub nos lo pasamos muy bien. El Cornmarket Pub es fácil de localizar a lo largo de Old Ropery. El horario de apertura es; Lunes a sábado, abierto desde mediodía. Domingo, abierto a partir de la 1 pm. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona.

La única cosa sobre el centro de Liverpool es que hay muchos pubs antiguos interesantes y el Cornmarket es uno de los más antiguos y es uno de los mejores. Situado en Old Ropery'the Cornmarket tiene un fantástico interior con un aspecto y sensación del viejo mundo. El pub data del siglo XVIII y está lleno de carácter. El interior de este pub histórico tiene muchos accesorios interesantes y un montón de características originales. Hay paneles de madera que fueron tomados de un barco cortador llamado Reina Del Pacifico y excelentes opciones de asientos. Si entras desde la calle Moor, este pub se ve completamente diferente, ya que hasta la década de 1960 este era el pub Bulls Head. Este pub fue tomado por el Cornmarket y ha prosperado como un pub desde entonces. Hemos estado visitando este pub durante muchos años y es tan bueno como siempre. Fuimos aquí temprano en la tarde y estaba muy ocupado que es como nos gustan los lugares, ya que el ambiente es mejor cuando los pubs están ocupados. Cuando visitamos tuvimos unas copas de cerveza Carling lagers que eran de primera clase y a un precio razonable. Es un excelente pub del viejo mundo en una fantástica zona del centro de la ciudad y es un pub al que vale la pena ir. (Esta es mi cuarta revisión del Cornmarket). Horario de apertura. Lovely historical pub, expensive £8 for a pint and a half of lager, barman was miserable 😖

Large city centre pub located behind James Street station. Large leather sofas, polished wood and brass make this place look really smart. Motown was playing in the background, but it’s definitely a place to come and have a chat over some drinks over anything else. The bar area isn’t one to sit at, which is a shame as this is always my preference, but on a nice day the beer garden is a nice option. The price was ok for a pint of Guinness (£5.55), and you have the choice of “normal or cold” which isn’t something I’ve been asked for a long time! There is one TV but it wasn’t showing sport, so not a match option if that’s what you’re after. Food is also available but I didn’t have anything so can’t comment. Like with most places in Liverpool, the staff were friendly. There aren’t many “pubs” in this small part of town, so this is a good option to come and have a few beers and a chat.

I've been here many a time and only ordered drinks. However during a recent visit I ordered food but had to cancel due to the length of time it took to serve it. This is no reflection of the woman behind the bar who was working as hard as she could given the circumstances but rather the management who decided to only put one member of staff on duty especially considering there was a function going on in the function room. Please, in the future, can you have more than one member of staff on to cope with the lunchtime rush.

It's a little bit of a hidden secret as both entrances are just off Fenwick Street. Inside are magnificent wooden carved panels around the fireplace. There are very comfortable Chesterfield couches that are very difficult to get out of once you're sitting in them. Nice staff and good beers and ales.

I had a glass of wine and enjoyed the interior of this place, very nice decoration.

Nice pub, been coming here year's, unfortunately the price of Wainwright has shot up, don't come here as much now for that reason

Hidden little classic pub. Really great, with a visit. There's even a really neat beer garden at the rear.

Lovely, sheltered beer 🍺 garden. Friendly staff. Food good if still being served, often query whether the kitchen is still open when ordering food after 2 despite menus still being out, no time advertised as to when it is open until. Don't always have tea available.

The Cornmarket, Old Ropery, Liverpool L2 7NT. Some pubs excel in their beer selection, some in their food, and others in their social atmosphere. The Cornmarket is one I visited specifically for its food. I was on the hunt for a real ale pie. There was nothing to tempt me in the boring Ale selection so I had some cold yellow fizzy foreign lager. The weekday only menu is simple and straightforward, which isn't a downside. The Steak pie, which was both tasty and reasonably priced was a genuine pie, not just a stew with a puff pastry lid. It could have been even better with homemade chips but the fries where OK. The gravy was excellent, and the marrowfat peas were just right. I'm not sure I'd visit if it weren't for the food, but it's worth stopping by for a look. The pub is historical an has an interest in decor and a small beer hand which is a sun trap. The staff were friendly.

El Cornmarket es uno que visité específicamente por su comida. No había nada que me emocionara en la selección de la Ale, así que tuve un poco de cerveza fría amarilla gaseosa.   El menú es simple y sencillo, lo que no es un inconveniente. Probé el Steak Piie, que era sabroso y a un precio razonable. Era un pastel genuino, no solo un guiso con tapa de hojaldre que no sería un pastel de verdad. Hubiera sido incluso mejor con patatas fritas caseras pero las patatas fritas donde está bien. La salsa era excelente, y los guisantes con grasa de médula eran justos. Sin embargo, solo sirven comida entre semana. No estoy seguro de visitarlo si no fuera por la comida, pero vale la pena pasar a echar un vistazo. El pub es histórico y tiene interés en la decoración.

Lovely little pub tucked away on a side street. Some interesting wooden panelling and other unusual features in the pub. Sells cask ales as well so the hubby was happy!

Look, alright, picture this. Double sided menus which means you and your mate can just pick that ting up and read it at the same time. No worries. No qualms. No stress. Just pints. Sound. Boss. 10 10. Front and back pictures attached, fiva to who ever can guess which is which.

Went here with four friends on 30th January afternoon. Oldy wordly pub, old chesterfield furniture. If you like this sort of thing it's great, good atmosphere and bar staff were great. Git a nice send off when we left. Drinks really good, give it a try if your in town

Great pub, a bit of a tardis...looks are very deceiving... much larger inside than expected... Good selection of gins, (unlike a lot of pubs who only stock pink or flavoured) and reasonably priced...would recommend

If you want wood panels allegedly recovered from The Titanic (definitely nautical), old friends having the same good natured arguments they've had for years, people using it as a starting point for a big night out, this place is for you.

Brilliant night at my husband Russ and Chris retirement party. Staff were amazing, and they worked very hard. Will definitely return for a few drinks. The food was delicious .

Beautiful pub with intricately engraved wood panelling and comfortable leather wing backed Chesterfield armchairs.

Haven't eaten so can't comment on the food but always take the opportunity to stop-off here for a few drinks. It is a little hidden gem of a pub, the atmosphere is just relaxed and comfy.

Great food and service, recommend the chicken strips. Can't comment on the pie or lasagne as the people I was with wouldn't let me try it 😞 looked lovely though. When I go back it will be with people who share! 😄

Great traditional Pub near Castle St. Loads of space and seating inside, lovely atmosphere. The Beer selection is good and the staff are great, they are great fun as well as providing excellent service (we stopped off there as part of my Birthday drinks and they gave me a free drink and chocolates to help celebrate 🤣👍). If you want a cool and classy old Boozer, with a mix of all types of customers (young and old), this is a 'must visit' 👍
