The Corn Market is a proper old Liverpool Pub. Great comfy leather chairs and chesterfield sofas. Decor looks like it has not changed since it was built - amazing fireplace. Large outdoor seating area. Just off Fenwick Street set back - there are two entrances and you can walk through from one bar to another. 5 Minutes from top of Cavern Walks and Liverpool One areas.

The Cornmarket Pub is a pub I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm in Liverpool City Centre ,it's a pub that offers great real ale's and fine pub food and you're always made to feel so welcomed here. I love the look of this pub ,it's split into two ,each room has it's own distinct character ,a cool looking serving bar ,wonderful furnishings and decorated tastefully throughout ,big screens to enjoy the sport and lots of seating options both inside and outside in their beer garden ,it's just a great pub to chill out. We were here on a bitterly cold Thursday early afternoon ,we were greeted warmly by the barmaid ,we ordered and were served in pristine condition Marstons Brewery " Wainwrights " ale ,we grabbed a table were we chilled out ,warmed up and planned out the day ahead while sipping our ale's. A big fan of this real ale ,it's such a well balanced pale ale ,lightly hopped with delicate fruity scents ,a citric aroma ensuring a slightly bitter finish that's just so refreshing ,at 4.1%ABV it's such a good session ale,it was just so good being in such a fantastic pub enjoying a great pale ale sat with my twin brother Stephen who is the best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Cornmarket Pub is easy to locate along Old Ropery. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday,11.30am till 11.30pm. A great real ale pub ,one I highly recommend you seek out if you're in the area.

We have been across to Liverpool as often as we can and usually gravitate towards Mathew St, Albert Dock etc. But while waiting for a show to start we ventured in to The cornmarket. after all the hustle and bustle of the city centre it was very pleasing to find this quiet calm lovely bar. No noise, just calm. We love the place and visit regularly now.

We’d walked in (and out of) a lot of pubs before stumbling on The Cornmarket. Lovely beer, an whilst not a huge menu, the food was very good, and very reasonably priced. Add to that, lovely staff, and a beer garden out back, which just finished off a positive experience. We’ll be calling in again when we return to Liverpool.

One of my favourite pubs to visit in Liverpool is The Cornmarket Pub ,a pub I've been visiting for many a year. This pub looks superb ,it's a traditional pub ,two roomed ,wonderful decor and furnishings,a solid wood serving bar ,tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their beer garden,it's just a great pub to unwind in. On our latest visit my twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Monday afternoon,we ordered Madri Beer, these were served iced cold and sparkling,we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My beer was really good,Madri beer seems to be in every pub nowadays ,it's a collaboration beer between Molson Coors Brewery and La Sagra Brewery to create a light continental lager style beer ,it's a light, hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste,so easy to drink, very refreshing ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a freezing cold beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to The Cornmarket Pub we had a great time. The Cornmarket Pub is easy to locate alone Old Ropery. The Cornmarket is a brilliant pub that offer a superb food and drinks range and is one of the oldest pub's in Liverpool. This superb pub is housed in the Britannia building in a great area of the city centre. This pub dates from the 18th century and is full of character. The interior to this superb pub on the Old Ropery side of the pub has a high end look and feel with superb wood panelling throughout the pubs interior that was taken from the Reina Del Pacifico that was a clipper ship. There are superb item's throughout the pubs interior and fantastic seating option's and it's an excellent place to relax and unwind with a meal and a few beers. If you enter on the Moor street side you will enter into a traditional pub interior that's a bit different from the other part of this pub as up until the late 1960s this was the Bull's Head pub before it was swallowed up and became part of the Cornmarket. We have visited this superb pub hundred's of times over the years as its cask ales are superb as is there meals. We came here for a few beers while walking around this area of the city centre and it was really busy.On our visit we had a Madrí brewery lager and a cask ale each which were superb and as it was a very warm day we sat outside as it has a superb beergarden. The Cornmarket is well worth visiting and is very easy to locate from James street train station turn left onto James street and you take a left turn onto Fenwick street.(This is my third review of the Cornmarket). Popped in for a post lunch visit as its decades since I cut my teeth drinking in this pub when I first started work in the City. It hasn’t changed a bit. It is a testament to the mantra “if it isn’t broken don’t fix it”. I wanted to show my pal the wood panelling in the main lounge room, it’s like being in a rich aunt’s sitting room. The panelling was taken from the breaking up of the ship the Reina Del Pacifico and it still looks as good as it did when I was a young man. A very comfortable lounge with some good photos of ships and the city throughout. There is a great variety of beers and lagers, I opted for the Black Sheep and it was perfect. There are little comments from famous folk on walls that are quite entertaining. I asked the barman if there was still access to the adjoining pub The Bulls Head. It was a very unique situation being able to walk into one pub but out of another without leaving the building. He said the Bulls Head was gone now but was part of the Cornmarket and it is often used for private functions. The barman kindly opened the access door to the old Bulls Head and switched on the lights so I could have a look around. What a fabulous trip down memory Lane I had with fantastic service from the barman. The pub wasn’t full but other visitors, like many pubs in Liverpool, were very happy to spend a few of their minutes having a chat with us. Makes me proud of the City. This is a must visit pub.

4 * "very good" is well deserved as location, interior, quality and variety of beers plus the friendly staff more than meet the criteria for "Excellent". Unfortunately the food (since opening after lockdown) has taken a serious turn downwards and why one star is lost. I had the "spicy" chicken wings. They arrived with chips out of the freezer bag and the wings were absolutely terrible. Dry as the bone beneath them. Tasted terrible. Almost certainly they had been reheated from one, possibly two days. I highly recommend this pub for all of the reasons stated above. I know the pandemic and Brexit has put pressure on hospitality chefs/cooks but you can't serve such poor quality food.

We don’t live in Liverpool but on past visits we have been here for drinks. The cask beer is excellent and served very well, three beers on when we went (I’m sure this will build up as things change). Also the bar staff are very friendly and welcoming, they are an asset to the place. The pub itself is old and comfy, nautical themed with some lovely carved old dark wood panelling on part of the wall which is from a ship! Nice small outdoor seating area, sun trap! All in all a superb pub, highly recommended.

Looking for a quiet place for a business chat and although there were plenty of people in here there was enough space for a quiet chat. Good choice of bitters and lighter ales bordering on IPA on draft which was delicious. As others have said a traditional old town centre pub with lots of character and characters!

Lovely pub in the middle of Liverpool city center, Hidden Gem of a pub we was there last Friday. So popped in as we was staying next door we was very surprised by the selections of spirits and real ales. We have heard alot of people talk about this pub but never managed to pop in. The place was clean & tidy the atmosphere was great as a party was going strong in the other room. The staff are professional and one day we hope we will be back for another visit. want to say thanks to Sara and all the staff for making us feel looked after with a smile. My husband loved the gins more than i did thank you again.

Stumbled across The Cornmarket on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and what a find. The atmosphere I would describe is that of a ‘Gentlemen’s Club’. Leather chesterfield sofas & high back chairs where you can sit & relax whilst enjoying a real ale. They even stock a selection of cigars. Service was excellent & as it was quiet Dave the Barman/Manager played a few tunes on the piano. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Liverpool.

I usually love the ye olde pubs but this place is a dump. While stood at the bar with 1 other person being served the 2 older barmaids continued to ignore us to continue their conversation. The place smelt bad but that cab sometimes be baked on the cleaning materials used as the pub was quite clean. I ordered a known good beer and it tasted like the cleaning fluid used to clean the pipes. Obviously the pipes were not washed through enough as the beer tasted like drinking bleach. Rude staff, bad smell and a terrible pint. Will not be returning and I am a local who loves a good cask too.

La música es buena. Y el domingo se puede escuchar el barman tocar el piano lo cual es genial. No hay comida en los fines de semana. Normalmente tenemos que cambiar por la comida. Been here a couple of times and to be fair it's got a great feel to it, and the wooden wall panels make it something different to other pubs i.e. it feels like a proper pub rather than the manufactured ones we see too often. Good choice of beers/spirits etc. My only gripe this time was the prices of the "special gin offers". Two double gin/tonics and two pints and not much change out of a pony. Not a problem but not sure how they can justify best part of a tenner for a double gin with tonic and a little bit of fruit. Good for a night out but could be a bit pricey if you're hitting the gin.

This pub is in the same building as the hotel we stayed at, so was very convenient. It offers a range of good hand pulled ales as well as wines and spirits. Fantastic boozer in the business district, near James St. station. Has a very colonial air, with polished wood flooring, pot plants and nautically themed exhibits - all essential parts of its charm, as is the friendly, very informative barman. This is a traditional pub not a Sports Bar and benefits as a result. It is a fairly iconic Liverpool Pub and a joy to visit. There is a very large selection of Gins, Whiskies and Rums and Dave the Barman is extremely knowledgeable about them all and very willing to impart his extensive knowledge to you. Dave is a quite eccentric character and in between serving drinks he plays the piano in the bar area for the enjoyment of the customers. The atmosphere is great here and that is due in large part to Dave who is the most welcoming barman you could ever wish to meet.A wonderful pub to visit.....

Before starting a weeks holiday in Warsaw my twin brother Stephen and I decided to go for a day out in Liverpool city centre to visit some of the great real ale pub's and craft beer bar's that our city has to offer and a visit to The Cornmarket Pub was at the top of our list. This is a superb pub, spread over 2 rooms the decor in here is superb with dark wood panelled wall's ,great decor and furnishings,a long serving bar and plenty of seating options both inside and outside in their cool outside beer garden located at the back of the pub.We were here on a Wednesday afternoon and this pub was busy with a cracking atmosphere and after a quick study of the real ale's on offer we opted to have Blacksheep Brewery Golden Ale for me and for my twin Greene King IPA .Both these ale's were served in tip top condition and we settled down in the back room and supped our ale's while planning out the rest of the day ahead. This is a pub i have been going to for many years and it gets better and better with each passing year. We really enjoyed our ale's in here before we moved on but as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Very easy to locate by walking down Fenwick Street and cut onto Old Ropery. Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday,11.30am till 11pm. A great pub and well worth checking out.
