After spending £30 on lunch and coffees we asked at the til if they would mind if we joined a call for 30 minutes while we drank our after lunch coffees having giving up our table on the terrace for a couple with dogs at their request. Having kindly obliged their request to give up our table they said it was absolutely fine. We were then made to feel so unwelcome. Two tables next to us just had coffees yet we were the only people asked twice (during an important call) if we wanted anything else and one of our coffee cups swiftly taken away before we finished. These were clearly attempts to move us. The first was only 9 minutes into our call without one of our coffees even being delivered. The manager then came over and informed us (again during the 30min call) that if we weren’t ordering more food we would have to leave as they were too busy and it isn’t a meeting space. The same was not requested of the tables either side of us. There was also a table two down from us that was empty. Really poor customer service turned our lovely lunch into a hostile encounter. It felt like a point was trying to be made as I’m not sure what we’d done to deserve this badgering. We will not be returning and are really disappointed in the lack of regard when we had spent a lot of money there. We were there 2 hours in total but clearly an unacceptable amount of time in their opinion having ordering two lunches, four coffees and a cake. A real shame.

We visited at lunchtime. It’s a lovely place with great tables outside for when sunny. Really quiet and peaceful. The cakes were lovely and so was the soup. Not many people know about it so visit now while you can. Menu is a little limited but what was offered looked lovely. Maybe an idea to do toasties.

Omg we have had the best Chinese takeaway this evening. Everything was absolutely gorgeous, they were super busy, so had a little wait but god was it worth it, highly recommend

Above average food, went to leave a £20 tip to be told I had already been charged a service charge. I think that should be my choice. I know I was charged less than the tip I was leaving, but I think that should be my choice.

With access through the Old corn Mill antiques centre, the Vintage Tea Room is beautifully clean, but has a rather spartan appearance; reminiscent of a works canteen. and lacks refinement in presentation. Our bacon sandwiches were well filled with delicious, well cooked bacon; but the two slices of bread should have been destined for 'doorstep' toast. Although fresh and of a decent texture and taste, the thickness of the bread tended to detract from the filling. Whilst we were asked if we would like any cutlery or sauces, we had to request a paper napkin. Appearances do matter, and it was a little off-putting to see a man, who we presumed be the cook, simply dressed in ordinary outdoor clothes, wandering around outside with tea towel over his shoulder. The staff were friendly and helpful; the menu interesting and quite extensive for a small establishment, and we are sure that other meals would be as well cooked and tasty as was our bacon filling. A little more attention to detail would make a huge difference. Oh yes - and the coffee was good.

We can't get good pies down south so we always pop into Eccleston for pies whenever we are visiting. They are amazing! Proper pies that you can hold in one hand. The filling is never too hot that it takes the roof of your mouth off, it's always just the right temperature. And such a selection too - the real test is which pies to pick. We tend to bulk buy so we can freeze some at home. The staff are proper friendly, nothing phases them. This is proper northern grub as it should be. Pie makers of the south take note - keep your puff pastry and venison filling. This is how a pie should be.

Not been in for a while so as the pub has been closed for a while but heard it was open again. So decided to pop in. Lacking atmosphere and not much in the way of welcome. Very quiet. No food but beer was good.

New customer to this establishment but defo be back again. We had Sausage, Egg & hash brown barms & they were great as well as reasonably priced. Wish I’d tried one of the barista coffees as well. Nice & clean with friendly staff - thanks for my brekkie & see ya again soon 👍🏻

Must have changed hands from last visit such a shame ,to be given a Latte straight from a packet and be told that a Flat White is just a spoon of coffee with milk and sugar . Asked about the coffee machine only to be told we can’t plug a coffee machine in something to do with the electrics ,found that rather odd we usually buy two drinks each and cake it’s lovely to see these little cafe when your out walking and give them your support but sadly I’m not paying for a packet latte.
