All good cooks know that it’s not the extravagance of ingredients nor the complexity of a menu that counts; it’s the results on the plate. The Bees Country Kitchen definitely illustrates this in my view. The cooking here is tactful and of a very good standard. Their dishes and flavours are classic, but subtly personalised with additions of little twists, which wonderfully elevates the finished product. Most importantly, they certainly understand that packing in lots of flavour is critical for rustic, hearty cooking. Their Minted Lamb Hot Pot was bursting with flavour, seasoned perfectly, and the vegetables still had a good texture to them. The design and décor capture a beautiful rural ambience. And, the staff have a classic, mature, homely charm about them, which is very comforting to customers.

Had my sons 20th birthday party here last night. Excellent buffet. The staff are amazing, friendly and go above and beyond to make sure our evening was perfect. Fantastic karaoke. It's a must visit pub.

Ordered here twice and each time they’ve got our order wrong! Rang up and explained that the order was wrong and the woman shouted at me and told me I was lying - Ham was put on a cheese and onion toastie which was for a vegetarian!! Chips were meant to come with the wraps as said on the menu however none arrived and the ones we had bought separately were less than half full!! Will not be ordering from here again - awful

Ok, so booked a table for 4 no problem. Taken to the table. Problem. 4 of us sat on what can only be described as a table for 2. The ones near the windows. No chance. No chance for 2 drinks, a bottle of wine and cooler and then food. Impossible. Even the staff agreed. Speaking of staff the young lad with with curly permed hair at the front even realised this and looked to look ing us. This lad was Lovely and a credit to the service. However the older girl , maybe the manager with blonde shoulder length hair was ignorant. She would not wait until we selected a wine off the menu and said she would return. She didn’t. Instead just stood at the side of the bar watching all the other younger ones do the work. If she is not a boss or the manager then I would show her the p45 as she was not welcoming and had a very long face as she clearly did not want to be there. So the food service was good. No issues. The food itself was good. No complaints. The complaints we had was ordering a bottle of wine at £36 which costs just £11.95. That is very excessive. Then when the final bill came it was a £135 for bottle of wine, 2 cokes, a child’s moktail, 3 pizzas, 2 garlic bread, 2 fries and a small pasta dish. Oh I forgot the big £12 plus service charge added without consent or notice. Not happy. So all in all it’s not put us off but not happy about a service charge added without explanation and be careful about the wine. You will be paying 3 times as much for your bottle. Robbery

From the minute we walked in we were put at ease. We were offered two different areas of the restaurant a quiet one and a slightly rounder one where there were some bottomless brunch going on . Opted for the more atmospheric side and they picked us a perfect table . The evening we were served by Matthew, Max and Alesia. I’m a pretty fussy eater, but no matter what we asked for a little tweets here and there to the menu everything was done without a fuss. The food was lovely, and I can’t wait to go back. Our first visit and it won’t be our last. The manager was lovely also . We had gammon and carbonara with a garlic tomato and cheese bread to Start . All was perfect .

My wife ordered a vegetarian burrito via the QR code, got brought a meat one... And inadvertently ate some of it. Not good! Communication seemed to be an issue to both kitchen and to our table, despite ordering via QR code. Also, seemed to be some confusion about when food was brought over too. This should be better, especially when needing to respond to dietary requirements. A replacement meal was brought for free and a refund of the wrong meal too, and staff were apologetic. Mistakes happen but ordering via the QR code and communication should give more assurance that you will get the food you ordered.
