The Bees Country Kitchen in Chorley

All good cooks know that it’s not the extravagance of ingredients nor the complexity of a menu that counts; it’s the results on the plate. The Bees Country Kitchen definitely illustrates this in my view. The cooking here is tactful and of a very good standard. Their dishes and flavours are classic, but subtly personalised with additions of little twists, which wonderfully elevates the finished product. Most importantly, they certainly understand that packing in lots of flavour is critical for rustic, hearty cooking. Their Minted Lamb Hot Pot was bursting with flavour, seasoned perfectly, and the vegetables still had a good texture to them. The design and décor capture a beautiful rural ambience. And, the staff have a classic, mature, homely charm about them, which is very comforting to customers.

Fabulous food place on the market. My wife adored her lamb kofte curry and my salted caramel cake was superb. Not been for a couple of years but it will not be long before we go back.

A delightful place to enjoy delicious food. The cafe is outdoors and beautifully laid out which gives it a great atmosphere. The food is homemade,delicious and great value. Vegans and vegetarians are really well catered for. If you're in Chorley give it a try.

We had afternoon tea delivered to our office for our once a month payday treat. It was amazing. So beautifully presented. Excellent value for money. Catered for our vegan colleague. We shall be back.

I only recently discovered Bee’s and wondered why I hadn’t tried it sooner. As a busy working parent with one kid who loves meat and the other who is a vegetarian I find the ‘easy teas’ a great, guilt free alternative to home cooking, as it is home cooking just not by me! The kids love choosing each week and look forward to our delivery. The meals are very tasty, fresh and not too salty like processed ready meals. The prices are good, I don’t have much money so I’m grateful to be able to feed my kids a good healthy meal several times a week. We have also had the afternoon tea at home and it was a lovely treat and we occasionally get the cupcakes and cake jars which are amazing. I love that they use local products and they do so much for the community too.

I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. Over the years I’ve had various meals including easy teas, or their special takeaways and have always found them to be watery, lacking seasoning or bland. Yes they use local suppliers, but they use the cheapest cuts left on the shelf at the end of the day. The crap cuts of meat. You barely GET any meat in their stews/meat dishes. They have tables and blankets and provide cover, yay. But the food really is AVERAGE at best.

Lovely to find such a terrific family run cafe / deli / food emporium when passing through Chorley. Just wish it was closer to home! Sat comfortably in a little Covid-secure 'bubble', cosily sheltered from the elements and enjoyed splendid food and friendly service. Excellent home cooked food at a very competitive price. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their food and service. The awards they have won are further proof. Just what every market in the land needs! Lots of tempting treats, so we just had to take home some Chorley Eggs (think Scotch Eggs; and then think again - fabulous!) and Rocky Road (delicious and moreish).Five Stars. Have been coming here for a while but post lockdown, have to say the breakfast was outstanding !For a small family run place, this is 5 star service and 5 star food.I had breakfast and then food to take home . Berry Crumble is excellent!

Friendly service lovely surrounding details flowers etc and nice little separate pods. We came and had the vegetable cashew nut curry and rice it was so lovely nicest curry we have both had. Look forward to coming again.

During the various lockdowns we have been getting some 'easy' meals from the Bees country kitchen to break up the week and monotony of cooking every evening. We have enjoyed every meal, the portion sizes are great and can tell the quality of the meat is top class. My favourite has to be tonight's lamb kofta curry, absolutely delicious. Such good value, would 100% recommend

The Bees is a wonderful place, cooking fantastic food with great service. In normal times it’s a fantastic place for a leisurely al fresco breakfast while watching the hustle and bustle of Chorley. During the pandemic the Bee’s amazing meals have been wonderful - great food delivered to your door. We are so lucky to have a place like this in Chorley.

Purchased a hamper from Bees as a gift for a friend in Preston. The customer service was amazing and my friend raved about every single part of the hamper. I cannot reccomend the Bees highly enough, amazing people, amazing business and amazing products

For the last four weekends we have had themed meals from the Bees, the themes included Mexican, Spanish Far Eastern and Middle Eastern dishes, all with a decent bottle of wine.All delivered to our door and ready for another Saturday night online quizzing.They are doing a remarkable job under the present conditions, just waiting for this weekends theme.P.S.The whipped cream and pate are responsible for going for a run now.

The Weekend Feasts from The Bees Country Kitchen are AMAZING. The feasts are delicious and fabulous value for money. I can't choose my favourite feast as they are all amazing. A quality bottle of wine can be added to your order.The feasts are made fresh ever weekend and tantalize the tastebuds.Also, Whipped Lancashire Cheese is an amazing addition to the cheese board and Chorley Eggs enhance a Ploughman's Lunch.Specials change on a daily basis.

Even though we are in lockdown I was able to order an afternoon tea to enjoy in the garden.They will be a perfect way to celebrate VE celebrations on Friday.It was delivered by a lovely polite young man on a flowery bike, keeping clear social distancing.

Regularly get meals from the Bees team and enjoyed a Street Food takeover and a pop up restaurant meal. Can’t beat them.

Another excellent night at the monthly pop up restaurant - all themed. The food was delicious as always - i can recommend the vegan haggis! It was busy and buzzing ( no pun intended!) and the hosts and their helpers provide an efficient and friendly service. All the little touches like cute cotton napkins, fresh flowers and candles on every table and quaint retro tableware add to charm. We are hoping to attend all twelve pop ups this year as we know we won't be disappointed.

Second time ordering from bees and definitely won't be the last, the healthy home cooked meals are amazing...for a quick dinner when your in a rush or for lunch at work they don't disappoint. Love how much variety is available weekly and also the loaf cakes are a must to try!! So easy to order with friendly staff just a message away :-) also like the fact that they use local produce so your not just supporting there business but others too x

Always a great variety of food on offer with plenty of options for veggies and vegans. My partner is a meat eater and I'm a vegetarian, we visit Bees often and neither of us have ever been dissapointed by the selection or quality of food on offer!

The Bees Country Kitchen is a superb local, outdoor restaurant. It he’s charming, under cover tables and chairs with blankets to use if it’s nippy. There is a wide range of food to choose from; all healthy and wholesome with a good vegetarian and vegan range. 10/10 for me!

First time I came here was good! Provides for vegetarians and the warm food was nice.

Ordered 4 meals to take away ( £10) for work lunches. All were extremely tasty but massive hats off to the vegan haggis neeps and tatties! Amazing ❣️.

Love the monthly pop up. A different theme each month. We have had French, Spanish, Mexican, fine dining, to name just a few. And bring your own wine.

We absolutely loved our Halloween themed afternoon tea and it was such great value too...we even had enough to take home!! Really appreciated the paper bag for take out and we absolutely loved the blankets provided on the chairs so we could wrap up really warm. Such fun and thoughtful gestures! What a local gem...we were made to feel so welcome and there is SO much more on the menu we would like to come back for!!! Great provision and options for all, including vegan and vegetarians!! We’ll definitely be back!! Thank you!!

Visited Bees Country Kitchen on the Friday night of Chorley Live. My husband and daughter had the lovely heart warming beef and ale stew and I devoured the Chorley egg with fries.Yum! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, would highly recommend!

I went to a pop up event catered by Bees. I was hard pushed to choose what to eat - which is an unusual experience for a vegan. Everything was delicious, but the spiced apple cake gets a special mention. Portions were generous, staff were lovely and the cost was exceedingly reasonable

We got married on Monday and had pre booked for 9 of us to have afternoon tea at 12.30 (normally not served until 2pm). We had agreed the menu in advance, including my friend’s vegan option. On the day it was wonderful. The food was all prepared freshly (apart from the mini loaf cakes but they tasted as if they were) and was delicious, my vegan friend especially loved hers as it was so different to what a lot of places offer, the tea and coffee was lovely too. We were so stuffed that we took some of the mini loaf cakes away with us, for which bees happily provided boxes. All for just £8.75 a head. Recommend this to anyone who is looking for somewhere different for a special occasion, or just a quick but lovely bite to eat on a lunchtime. Thank you to all their friendly and helpful staff as well.

Great little eating place with friendly staff and the food is so yummy! They have a god variety of vegan food available as well as plenty for us meat eaters.

Visited the bees country kitchen again for lunch today. There is always something different to try and the food is wholesome and healthy. There are always slimmers friendly meals available but saying that, their rocky road is to die for! I always buy some of the ready mixes to eat at home especially the savoury rice and tuscan bean mix. Definitely recommend, so lovely to have somewhere like this in the centre of town.

Fantastic food from The Bees at Chorley Cricket Club Beer Festival over the weekend, all the family loved it!Between us we had delicious (and huge!) sausage butties, Chorley eggs, Lebanese lunch with feta and hearty beef hotpot. Quality is always spot on and we love the home-made, healthy-eating, environmentally friendly ethos of the business. A Chorley gem!

Friday night had a superb sausage butty, three great tasting sausages, on thick cut crusty brown bread.

Over the past weekend me and my friends where down at the beer festival where the stall had been set up, all the food done by them was great, they catered to all the needs of the group I was with that included a vegan and a person with allergies. The staff where very helpful with what food had what ingredients in them. They have done further private catering for a wedding I was at and again the food was good and they had provided all the allergies that where in the food to anyone and had food that could be catered to a vegan or vegetarian. Furthermore all the the staff that have ever been serving where all very nice and polite and helped to instruct people on the food and what would the vest for them based off the specific dietary needs

We met this food restaurant at Chorley Beer festival at the cricket club this weekend. The gentleman running the stall was unable to give information about allergies in all his food. Disappointing

This is a very popular food place on Chorley market but I find it a bit confusing - there's just so much on the boards/menu that when you get to the front of the queue, unless you know beforehand what you want it's mind boggling!

Another lovely meal at the Bees pop up last night in St Laurence’s. The food was delicious as ever...lamb cutlets melted in the mouth and the mini mushroom pastries to start were divine. Definitely worth a visit to one of the monthly pop ups...great value and a lovely relaxed atmosphere

I normally go for the salad which is fantastic but visited with my daughter today and we both had a 4 and a 7 item cooked breakfast. The quality is incredible for the price, I love that they use local produce and genuinely care about supporting Chorley (try Brown's butchers black pudding yum)

We had such a brilliant three course meal tonight loving made by the Bees country kitchen. I love that they always make sure there's vegan options. I can't say a bad word about their food - I had a delicious cashew, coconut and red pepper with delicious fresh bread for starter, vegetable and chickpea tagline, and beautiful spiced apple cake and soy cream for desert. 10 quid for three courses, you can't beat it - such a good price for a fresh, delicious hearty meal

My husband and I live in Hampshire and follow The Bees Country Kitchen on insta. Whilst visiting family in Chorley yesterday we couldn’t resist popping by for lunch.. we weren’t disappointed. We were advised by the super friendly owner Mike to dine from the ‘Taste of Chorley’ menu which had vegan options for myself as well as meat options for my husband. Both of us commented on how every mouthful was absolutely delicious. I had oat milk in my tea, the best vegan milk IMO. We ate in the lovely dining area at the front of the stall. Despite the weather being particularly bad, we used the complimentary blankets to stay snug and warm.

I have been looking at this venue on Tripadvisor and fell across it on a trip out to visit the Tuesday market. There are tables and benches to sit and eat but I had the daily special jolofe rice and chicken as a take away. It was a fair portion for the price and was extremely tasty even cold. As Chorley market is now my second best I am sure to visit again and this will be my go to for lunch

Visited from Bolton about a month ago and was eager to revisit the food was that good. This Saturday we even set the alarm, something I never do, and, my missus quizzed me about my seven selections the night earlier! Great food, great service, engaged and very skilled owners. I would, and have, highly recommended friends visit.

The latest Bees' pop up was 80s themed with food from the decade - chicken kiev, black forest gateau etc. but with the usual Bees' flair added.

A wonderful eatery, producing lovely dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The staff are always cheerful and are willing to cater to individual requirements. On my most recent trip I opted for the Steak Canadian and I wasn't disappointed. They also have a large vegan selection, which is a rare find. Thanks Team Bee! You're all amazing.

Made our first visit here, bought great food here, really tasty and great value!

This was our first time visiting Chorley (my husband was attending an appointment at the hospital at 3pm) we were early so had a walk round. I was not hopeful for a vegan lunch after walking past several coffee shops, then out of no where we found The Bees, we sat outside with lovely blankets to keep up warm while drinking great coffee waiting for our food. I had the a big bowl of Vegan Chilli with rice which was very good indeed and my husband had a veggie finger sandwich with homemade chips, which he said was great. Thank you for a fabulous lunch with great service and a cheery smile will be back without the hospital visit !.

We went to the Mexican themed pop up and I had the prawn soft taco, steak fajita and chocolate pudding. All of the food was lovely, the service was so personable and chatty, and I'm so surprised that it wasn't busier! The young people working were so polite and attentive, and I understand why my mum comes along to these pop ups a lot - wish I lived closer!

I’ve been going to The Bees for several years now and have never had a bad meal. There’s always a varied menu on offer, and lots of healthy options which appeals to me! Today’s meal was at chorley town hall as part of an event - Lancastrians by Junction 8 theatre- I had a tasty chicken and asparagus hotpot and summer pudding for afters. Great to see them supporting local community projects. A proper friendly family business in the heart of chorley. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Read lots of very good reviews. We were passing late Sat and stopped for a brew. They were closing up but gladly said we could sit and drink which was good. Choice of mags and papers to read. Outdoors. However, coffee was nothing special. Food did look good

We visited this little spot for a coffee and cake after finding other cafes in town to be quite full. My girls ordered cake bars which they really enjoyed. My daughter also asked for orange juice which wasn't fresh or tasty. It was 'long life' and had a six months 'best before date'.

My family celebrated my husband's big birthday on Saturday at home. The Bees Country Kitchen supplied and delivered the buffet of assorted wraps and bagels, sausage plait, lamb casserole, chicken and chorizo casserole, jam jar cheesecakes and trifles.

The Bees Country Kitchen provided a perfect pop-up Italian for a belated valentines meal last night. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the young team did an admirable job on service, explaining the components of each course in a confident and professional manner. The food was exceptional. It was hard to chose a favourite, but if pushed, the hearty and comforting beef bologna would be it. I cannot wait to see where the next pop-up takes us!

Was passing through with work recently and popped in for lunch. So much choice it took us a while to decide what to have but both of us had a brilliant lunch, brew and pud. I had to check they hadn't missed something off the bill when it came to pay as it was so cheap.

Top quality food and excellent value for money at the ‘bring your own booze’ pop up restaurant, St Laurence’s Church Chorley. Had such a good laugh with friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be going to the next one!

This market stall is amazing. They produce great reasonably priced varied food. They do theme days, the most wondrous desserts. They will make up gift hampers, cater for your party and even do a picnic for a day out. This amazing family work wonders and are a bright jewel in Chorley's independent business crown.

I purchased a Chinese new year feast - prawn balls, vegetable rolls, beef and black bean sauce, pork and cashew nuts, rice, cheese cake and a fruit salad. Everything was extremely tasty and a plus for me as a type 2 diabetic was that there wasn't that much sugar in the food.

The pop up restaurant on Burns' Night was superb. We were a group of 6 and all enjoyed very good food, from mostly local ingredients given a Scottish flavour (pun definitely intended!). Three sizeable courses, all served efficiently and in friendly manner.

You need look no further if you’re after a top breakfast in Chorley. This place is just excellent. Everything is cooked fresh and the ingredients are great quality. Really tasty and a fabulous price as well. 7 items for £5 is a steal. You can takeaway or sit in the outside area next to it but blankets are draped over every seat and it’s covered by a marquee. I was comfy and happily full!

This is more than just a market stall for sure. It offers lovely home cooked healthy food for a good price. There are so many new things to try each time we go and the Chorley eggs are to die for! Friendly staff and a great atmosphere and definitely worth visiting.

We are regular visitors to the Bees - usually we go for the street food Saturday, but can also recommend the breakfasts!! Consistently well cooked, local food with a real emphasis on where the food has come from. Love visiting as they’re always doing something new.

I love calling in here whenever I’m in town, I always stock up on the hoummus and the pates and the cheesecakes in a jar!! They always give loads of friendly advice and ideas too which is great!

After eating my dinners from the Bees since they opened and having had Christmas catering for the last two years, I can hand on heart say I have never come across a more dedicated and committed family business. All the food served up is fresh and home cooked, made by the people serving you. The name Bees is a reflection of the work ethic of the family and their staff. This stall is something the people of the area should be proud of, bringing life back into Chorley Town Centre.

Love love love the Bees! My family and I have been coming since this little gem opened and I can’t recommend it enough. The homemade food is made from local quality produce and is always spot on. There is so much to choose from, and always new and exciting things to try. My children and hubby love the Chorley eggs in particular. I love everything and love the fact that the food is good for me, tasty and great value for money. Forgot to say, always service with a smile.

My family and I are huge fans of The Bees. Their extensive menu offers a wide variety of tasty, healthy, home cooked foods at very reasonable prices. The famous Chorley Eggs are always a favourite with us and their ever evolving menu means there is always something new to try.

Love coming here for my dinner whilst at work. The food is really fresh and home made I’m also told it’s mostly Vegan or at least the soups are Vegan? Think I pay about £2.50 for soup and bread which I think is top value. Only thing I’d say is a different variety of soup would be ace especially in the coming winter months, very leek & potato and Carrot Coriander heavy!

The service delivered by the workers of the kitchen was outstanding and the speed at which my afternoon tea was made was excellent. The staff told me all the ingredients in their meals and all of it is from around the Chorley area was amazing. The wide range was very good for my vegan and veggie friends as they provided them with. A lot of alternatives like the vegan eggs to the Chorley egg and the vegan alternatives to the all the meals like the curries

Had the deli sharing platter with my wife. What a lovely sight when it arrived and what a fantastic taste to everything. We had one of their special Scotch eggs as well. Unlike any Scotch egg you have had before. Packed with taste and a hint of herbs. Only trouble is they only do them on Saturdays. A leisurely, good tasting lunch with someone you love, cannot wish for more. Wonderful.

Living alone l buy 2 to 6 separate dinners so that lve got nutritious.. tasty meals on hand in freezer. As lm not great on my feet a friend occasionally collects them for me. Always tasty and enjoyable.

I had a very tasty chicken wrap from Bees Kitchen and it was very nice. Freshly irritated and tasty. I do find the stall in the market very “busy” though and it’s sometines hard to take in all that’s being offered and decide what to have!!

I do food, I do afternoon teas. The best EVER was today at Bees Country Kitchen. I was defeated, couldn’t manage everything (a first!) but no problem, the delightful proprietors provided doggie bags, no hassle. Everything was delicious and fresh. Took the opportunity to stock up with some easy teas, fudge, soup and dhal mix and marmalades (alcohol flavoured). I think this is my favourite eatery anywhere. Please note outdoor seating, under gazebo cover, fleece blankets available (more than a cloudburst whilst I was there but just added to the atmosphere and coziness ...) I will certainly be paying a return visit.

Had breakfast here on a Saturday. Various options and I opted for 4 items for 3pound plus a coffee. Very nice bacon eggs and potato cake. I was not keen on the gluten free sausage. You sit alfresco and food and staff good.

Fell upon this place whilst on holiday in Lancashire. My husband is very hard to impress but really enjoyed his omelette. I treated myself to a jar of mixed berry jam so tasty. Staff lovely and friendly as well. Up market Street food.

I have been visiting Bees Kitchen for over 12 months now and decided to ask them to cater for a party I was having. I wasn't disappointed - ordered Chicken Dhansak and Pork Chilli and a beautiful Salted Caramel Birthday Cake. Food was absolutely amazing - the bread was lovely and fresh and the pickles served with the dishes were absolutely delicious.

I have eaten at the Bees a couple of times now and it has never failed to impress me or anyone I have eaten with. The food is always delicious and there is so much variety that they offer. We've been visiting Bees since it first opened and whether it's a simple lunch of soup, a Chorley egg or an omelette; meals to take home for tea; a 'bit of everything' tapas style lunch; or a big order for Christmas day, the food has always been reliably excellent. I know from conversations that Bees go out of their way to source quality ingredients e.g. to get better marshmallows for the hot chocolate!

Everything at this stall is great as well as other offerings in Chorley, there are fresh options and also prepacked to take home. As somebody as already mentioned the Chorley eggs are amazing even the vegan one but especially the black pudding one!
