Great little cafe. Really good cake and a massive portion. Fantastic value for money.

First time as just started working in Adlington. Portions are good sized and freshly made as well as being reasonably priced. I had a cheese sandwich with a side order of double-cooked chunky chips and a pot of tea for under £10. Enjoyed itand would definitely go again.

Really nice cafe. Staff all friendly and the food is lovely. My partner has been off work with an injury and on crutches and the staff went above and beyond to help her and made her feel very welcome.

Parking is a little limited so be mindful but we sat out in the sunshine & the food/service was great. Payment is only electronic, no cash though.

Pleasant little cafe on the marina at Adlington. Part of a charity and the same company as the one in Leyland. Good choice of cakes and popular with ladies who lunch.

We have been going to the Marina at least twice a week for several years, only interrupted by covid. The staff are always welcoming and the food always good at a reasonable price. It is a pity the cafe is not advertised very much. There used to be sign at the entrance to the Marina on the main road and would suggest B of C try and get it replaced along with one on the canal tow path. Keep up the gòd work guys and gals

A Great find. Visited after seeing good reviews, did not even know there was a Marina nearby. Tuna Mayo baked potato was excellent, good portion, plenty of salad. My wife had a ham and cheese toastie, plenty of good quality ham. Top class coffee, pleasant helpful staff. Amazing value, will now be a regular destination for a good simple lunch.

A lovely little cafe with a good fryup

Great place. Clean and bright witn inside and outside seating. It is open to anyone, not just marina residents. It has lots choice on the menu, The food is good and tne staff are lovely. Highly recommended.

Is there a job going on I am looking for a job I am 15 I am female and I have hearing difficulties and I wear an earonade to help me hear I have 2 girlfriends I got to school and finish at 3:15 but I get back at 3:55 is so maybe if I can try and get a job there at 4 or 5 pm is I am looking for a job and I got to school at albany academy my name is amy

Fantastic little cafe with very friendly staff . We had a lovely breakfast all freshly cooked. They have tables outside if the weather is nice. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Even though we live in the village and have walked past the cafe numerous times this is the first time we have visited it .We went with our 2 grandsons at around 1pm there were several people enjoying food sat at the outside tables so we opted to sit inside. We were promptly seen and given a menu from which we made our selection ,we asked to make a few tweeks to the dishes ordered and were told with a smile it was not a problem. Everything we had was freshly prepared and piping hot We left with full tummys and a smile on our faces. We will definitely be back .

I enjoyed a baked potato with butter and a side of beans with an apple juice before feeding the ducks and going to the play park.” These are the exact words of my 8 year old granddaughter today after a lovely day enhanced by two visits to the cafe. Lovely charity run little cafe , fabulous prices , very nice staff

We have visited this lovely cafe at the White Bear Marina, Adlington, many times and have always been very impressed by the quality of the food and service. They are lovely people, working to help those who might be less fortunate than others. We can thoroughly recommend the Classic Full English breakfast (if you can finish it!), followed by a long walk along the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. We visited on Thursday for lunch and received a warm welcome from the friendly staff. There was an extensive menu and the food was excellent. Two of the party chose fish, chips and peas, one the small breakfast which was quite adequate and the 'birthday girl' had the vegetable tikka masala. We hadn't room for dessert but Jen did take a piece of the carrot cake home for later. Thank you we will be back

Went to the cafe today and was met by great staff and ordered ended with scampi chips and mushy peas which was cooked to perfection really enjoyed it and looking forward to going again might add is currently take out but don't let this put you off a hidden gem in the area

Popped in for brunch today for the first time, lovely waterside location although quiet at the moment. I ordered a bacon barn which was served promptly and presented beautifully, really tasty and with a gorgeous little side salad and home made coleslaw. The environment needs cheering up a bit but was spotlessly clean , thanks To Brad and Keelan for a warm welcome 😊

I’ve visited this place several times now, and there’s always a warm welcome and friendly service. The coffee tasted good as does the food *Ive only tried breakfasts so far* but have heard positive feedback about lunchtime foods. It’s nice and hidden away and when the sunshine’s the outside seating area is a real sun trap.

The Marina Cafe is at Adlington Marina which has free parking. The cafe is a lovely little place with very tasty and good value food. It's run by a charity and employs staff that have learning disabilities, they are welcoming, professional and make visiting a joy. The surrounding area provides lovely walks along the canal.

I had wanted to visit this cafe for over 12 months after reading excellent reviews on Tripadvisor about it. Eventually got the opportunity yesterday to go for a long walk up the canal path nearby and stop off at the cafe for lunch with my sister. We were immediately greeted by the very friendly and efficient manager and served by equally friendly staff. The food was lovely, great choice of menu and lovely atmosphere. Planning to return again soon and would highly recommend the cafe to others.

Lovely little cafe next to the canal marina, with customer car park. Called at dinner and the place was full when we left, so obviously a popular choice. Serving breakfast and lunch menu at very reasonable prices. Cheerful attentive staff and quick service. Definitely will call again even though I only live 5 mins away.

Lovely staff. Great food. Barges can be seen moored up. Nice place on a sunny day, can even watch the ducks.

Just been taken to this delightful cafe with my family, who are regulars, and I can see why they are!The food was well presented and tasted delicious.The cafe is a Social Enterprise business and has the most helpful, polite and charming staff lead by Wendy who is very caring and welcoming.I can’t recommend this little gem enough! The customers queue to get in, it’s so good!

Open from 09:00 to 16:00 this a good stop for those passing through as well as locals. Specials offered like the Chilli con Carne with jacketed potato and salad that I had for £6.25 plus the standard menu pictured

We popped in the cafe out of curiosity; having seen it when passing a few times. I went with my son, mum and my brothers. We really enjoyed it. The food was really nice and the service great! The atmosphere is really nice and it is a cosy little cafe, just next to the canal. We enjoyed it and will definitely go again.

We've been here twice for lunch, once in summer and just before Christmas. Both times there were 4 of us and we all enjoyed what we had. The ham salad was a huge portion, as was the beans on toast! No room for a sweet. Last time it was baked potato with mushrooms for 2 of us, a cheese toastie and egg and chips. Prices extremely reasonable for what you get. Beware if you have a small appetite! My sister-in-law asked for egg and chips, she didn't want much - she got 3 fried eggs and chips! B-i-L had to eat 2 of the eggs. Food is lovely as are the staff. Seems to be very popular, as we had to wait for a table last time.

Called in for a bite to eat at lunch time. Just 1 table left. Lovely little cafe. Staff very polite and helpful. Not an extensive choice on menu but sufficient. Soup and sandwich we both decided on. Lovely hot soup. Very impressed. Would go back.

Grand little cafe, down by the picturesque marina. Have been visiting this little gem for a few years now, you always get a warm welcome. The food is outstanding, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. The staff are friendly, helpful and hard working. The prices are VERY reasonable for food of such high quality. A true community atmosphere.

Called in for brunch during a walk along the canal. Fantastic food and great value for money, we had the breakfasts and were really surprised at how lovely they were. The two meals and drinks only cost £12. Really recommend a visit if you're in the area.

Since moving to Adlington we have visited The Marina Cafe on numerous occasions. The Cafe is tucked away in a nice peaceful spot at the side of the canal. Every time we go for lunch the food is always excellent and freshly cooked. They have a good sized menu, but also have a number of daily specials including soup of the day. The breakfasts are superb, but also try the specials which are great value. My wife had the Prawn Open Sandwich today, which was lovely with loads of prawns. As usual I went for the breakfast.The service at the Cafe is always exceptional. The staff are very friendly and go out of there way to ensure you get great service. I think the establishment is run by a charity. Well they definitely should be very proud of The Marina Cafe and especially the staff, because it really is a great place to eat. Just a pity it's not open at the weekend, only weekdays.

This little cafe is a great place to have lunch. The food is always tasty, and very reasonably priced. Yesterday I had a jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn, my hubby had the lasagne with chips and we also had a pot of tea for two - all for £13.50. The portion sizes are very generous, the staff lovely, the place spotlessly clean and the setting (by the canal) is beautiful. There's seating outside and ample free parking minutes away. A real little gem!

Great food and service is offered up consistently, staff are attentive without being intrusive. I have used this cafe for a number of years now and during that time have got to know the staff very well and their are some great characters at The Marina Cafe. The food is simple but always tasty and well cooked. It is on the Leeds Liverpool canal and therefore is a great place to pop into when you have worked up an appetite walking along the towpath.

A great stop-off for walks along the nearby canal. Over the last few months I've enjoyed light lunches (sandwiches served with crisps and salad), snacks (large toasted teacake with plenty of butter on the side) and just tea, both takeaway and sitting outside with a pot. The Marina Cafe is very well run with quality food and efficient, friendly service. On my last visit I had to wait for a table - on a dull Tuesday in November not many places are full so that says it all.

This hidden gem is the best , it is on the marina at Adlington , just turn fight halfway over the canal bridge ,,, we have been going as regular as we can after it being recommend to us , it is run by a caring owner who employs people who aren't as quick as others , the menu is just enough and the food is first class , from daily specials , to jacket spuds and the sandwiches are delivered freshly made with a salad and crips , it is VERY reasonable , and the waiting staff are the most pleasent and efficient . Not much more to say , just go ..

We call in here often. Good, simple food, freshly cooked and served as fast as possible! Very good price too. It is owned/run by a charitable foundation. In summer - or even winter if you are brave! - you can sit outside. It is situated by the side of the canal so you can watch the boats and swans as well. Very popular with many locals and barge enthusiasts alike.

Visited here on a whim after a recommendation by a friend and I've got to say the food was beautiful. I had a bacon and egg bap, with added mushrooms on the side and a tea. and I've got to say the bacon was really thick, obviously of good quality. I was asked how I wanted my fried egg cooked, which was really nice considering cafes don't usually bother asking and got it exactly how I wanted (runny of course). Got to say this is a little hidden gem and definitely would recommend it to anyone who's passing by. You really don't expect table service, but you get it!

paid a visit to the Marina cafe for my tea in August 2016.Had a lovely celery soup followed by a very tasty curry ( pity there was no nan bread but never mind ).Food was tasty and would recommend to any would be hungry customer.
