The best restaurants in Wetheral Carlisle North West

We arrived to a very warm welcome indeed from Gill (a former colleague of my partner David) to celebrate my 80th birthday with afternoon tea along with two good friends . We cannot praise the service, ambience and the food highly enough - the owner Val even popping her head round the doorway to ask if we were being treated well? We certainly were - this was to the standard of a top London hotel and what a bargain at £25, having a few years ago paid £10 for a coffee & scone on the terrace of Buckingham Palace! Amazing Christmas Eve meal. Food and drink was lovely, atmosphere cosy and warming. The staff were so friendly. We will be back this year, thanks 😊

Staying at local caravan and motorhome site. Thought we’d support local charity Oak Tree Animals’ Charity. Had delicious generous sized homemade cheese scone, raspberry scone and coffees served by friendly staff in a pleasant clean welcoming environment. Bonus dog walk opposite site with dog activity ares and amazing views.

Nothing special to me, beef had a funny smell, not off just weird Suits a certain type I suppose just not me..sorry

Good food but after ordering at 5pm for collection at 7pm we had to wait until 8pm was just about to demand a refund when it arrived with no apology from staff we weren’t the only people waiting at least 8 waiting and nobody got an apology all were late by at least 45mins to a hour WILL NOT USE AGAIN

Always a great meal and service is second to none.

Indian food at it's best, nice surroundings, great choice, great staff and in my opinion the best Indian restaurant in Carlisle area.

Soooo happy that Christina Kirbys dog was accommodated for and didn’t get disturbed by humans using a public house. Please inform me next time you are out and I will keep out of your precious dogs way.

Called into bar for lunch, unfortunately the food was DISGUSTING. Service was very slow, Needless to say we won’t be back

Great food, clean modern look nice gardens

Afternoon tea a bit short on savouries only one each. No offer to fill up teapots.

Was spending the w/e in Cumwhinton at a dog agility competition and needed to refill on vittles. Saw this fantastic pub from the main road so wandered down. Opens (Sat) at 5pm, check website for other opening times. Great menu and specials board, all reasonably priced. My partner chose the fish pie, with root mash, veg and sml crusty baguette and I plumped for the steak and ale pie. Both were beyond delicious. 2 drinks and 2 mains, £35 Would definitely visit again and would not hesitate in recommending. Has a small car park, and beer garden.

Breakfast is always spot on. First thing we have when we are able to go shopping here (Saturdays). Staff, friendly and food is always good.
