Very busy but found a seat in a short while. Pricing plan for sandwiches a bit confusing but maybe that was just me. We had the nicest cheese scones we’ve had for a long time and a tasty coffee and tea. Clean, tidy with friendly staff , I will defend barely go back there again.

Not just for those seeking to re-home an animal, but a good place to visit, if you want to help the charity and keep your children entertained for a couple of hours. Friendly staff, good tea room and play area, and of course - the animals. What a great job the charity does.

This place is wonderful to wander around on a sunny day. Some animals such as the horses are outside; others might be being groomed or socialised so you can admire them, but speaking generally the animals aren’t on display. I think this is a good thing. I think it’s soul destroying to see animals piled up in cages like you do at larger charity rehoming centres. This is less stressful for the animals. Knowledgeable staff on hand and clearly deeply dedicated to what they do. A shop stuffed with well chosen bits and bobs, and a cafe with a decent cup of tea and a bun. Everything you spend supports this wonderful charity, so dig deep!

Great place to drop in to for a cuppa, although they make great lunches too. Gluten free also available.

Bring my toddler here. Cafe is lovely and very child friendly. The lunch bags for the children and very generous. She loves pottering about the paths around the centre and it’s super safe for her to do so. There’s also a little outdoor park which is great when it’s a bit drier. We go and stroke the goats and look at the donkeys. She also enjoys having a look in the shops to see if there are any toys/books she wants!

Stopped for a cuppa, toastie and tray bake, midway through a bike ride, sat outside at the back in the patio area and had nice little snack and freshly brewed coffee at a reasonable price.

Nice food in the cafe and nice drinks served by friendly staff. Also, there is a park outside for kids to keep them busy. Cute animals and wheelchair accessible with good on-site parking.

Came across this spot by accident and had a delicious light lunch here. My slice of coffee cake was huge, light and the tastiest I have had in a long time. Service was fast and friendly and the cafe has a dog friendly area away from the serving counter. There is a good range of unusuall and hand made cards and gifts in the shop. Visitors are also encouraged to have a walk round the centre where you can make friends with goats and ponies or fall in love with a cat or two. The second hand tack shop is full of bargains and a great way to support the charity. We will definitely visit again when next in the area.

I popped into Oak Tree yesterday for coffee and brunch. There is ample parking, toilet facilities and a lovely restaurant area with the option to sit undercover outside as needed. There is a little children’s play area so great place to visit for all the family. The staff were friendly and my brie and Cranberry ciabatta was served quickly and was extremely yummy! After we had eaten we had a little walk around the area and met some of the animals and visited the shop.

Oak Tree Animal Charity Tearoom is a great place to catch up with friends. There are plenty of walks to do nearby and the tearoom is dog friendly. The toasties and homemade scones are delicious and it's great way to contribute towards the animals in need.

The North West section of the AJS Matchless Owners Club was touring the area on our annual rideout and I spotted this tea room on our route so planned a visit. We gained a warm welcome from the lovely volunteers and sampled the cakes etc. Everyone was so nice I would recommend a visit if you are in the area and please give a donation. They do wonderful work. Richard (chairman)

What a fantastic find! Had the most delicious lunch today! Warming curried parsnip soup followed by chocolate brownie! Took some homity pie home too. We will be back. Very reasonably priced and good size portions. Had to do a review because it was such a delight on a cold November morning!! Yum yum 😋

We hired Cumbria Gourmet burgers for an event at our house where we had a large number of guests coming. The food was great and the service was brilliant.

Visited half a dozen times in the last year. The owners know how to run a village pub/restaurant. Tastefully quirky interior design. Excellent but down to earth wine menu. Top quality cask ales. Dog friendly. Very convivial atmosphere and a range of seasonal events. But top of the shop s the quality of the food. Last night we had the best cheese soufflé ever. Then the tastiest lamb, perfectly cooked. It melted with tenderness and a happy organic rearing. The steak was sublime. We’ve covered many signature dishes in recent months and always come away delighted. Prices are reasonable for the quality delivered. Well done to the whole team. A must visit.

Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.
