Had afternoon tea at Warwick Hall today with 3 friends. Everything was lovely, fresh and home made sandwiches, quiche, scones cream and jam and an assortment of cakes, pot of tea plus glass of prosecco. Would definitely recommend.

The food is amazing, from a very well designed menu to the food appearing in front of us, looking and tasting fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit here for Dinner, and we are lead to believe that they also offer Lunch and Afternoon Tea on a Friday Saturday and Sunday. Will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommended. Service was great. The young ladies serving us were very attentive but not overbearing.

We enjoyed an absolutely outstanding lunch at Warwick hall. The menu reads as a list of my favourite dishes and choosing was truly difficult. I had a perfectly seasoned steak tartare and an excellent lemon sole with ‘just sharp enough’ lemon butter and capers. Others at the table enjoyed deliciously rich rillettes, light as a feather cheese soufflé and two glorious roast beef Sunday lunches. Im not always a dessert fan but went the whole hog and opted for the sticky toffee pudding which was sweet without being cloying and unusually but delightfully light. 10 out of 10.

I have had many afternoon teas in some of the nicest flashiest restaurants in Cumbria, but this was by far the Best. Warwick Hall has authentic charm in a picturesque situation by the river Eden. The tea started with a selection of savouries, the sandwich fillings were top notch quality, The scones were fresh and delicious, Then we were presented with an amazing selection of cakes. Macarons, cream brandy snaps, chocolate cake , lemon cake and mini lemon meringues. Most important to me is the fact that everything was homemade. nothing was bought in or defrosted! There was a good selection of beverages and wines, Our young waitress was most helpful and friendly. My friend and I had a delightful afternoon and felt thoroughly spoilt when we left. Thank you to the team.

I enjoyed my visit. It was my first time there - a beautiful, interesting, historical, friendly, welcoming, quiet place to spend an afternoon. We had a lovely walk through the grounds along the river to the working walled garden. We had afternoon tea in one of the elegant but homely and relaxed dining rooms. The food was delicious. GORGEOUS smoked mackerel open sandwiches, scones, chocolate mousse, french fancies (the real homemade sort :), macarons, pots of tea and options for champagne. The dining rooms open onto a terrace which I think we sat at for a while and great for the kids to play on the lawn nearby although the river is right there so we had to be careful. The owner was around and seemed to care that people enjoyed their visit which made a huge difference. It's left me with some amazing memories and I'm really looking forward to going back.

My husband Darren and I enjoyed a splendid evening meal at Warwick Hall during our week stay there. The service was quick, clean, and professional. We both absolutely loved everything we were served! You can genuinely taste the difference between homegrown fruit and veg and store-bought produce after staying in so many different places around the world!

I had the pleasure of dining at a family afternoon tea, firstly the views over the river even on a wet day was very spectacular. The afternoon tea was well presented and delicious, everything was homemade and my gosh you could tell the difference, there was even some homemade gooseberry sorbet from the garden which was out of this world, the staff were attentive and efficient. all in all a fantastic afternoon. I will be returning for dinner when they open to the public

Good quality ingredients, cooked properly and assembled simply, that's the secret to a good breakfast and that's how they do it at Warwick Hall. We enjoyed a range of dishes, a hearty full English with local sausages, black pudding and perfectly crisp bacon was excellent. Granola with yoghurt was light and tasty. Eggs Benedict with excellent poached eggs and a silky hollandaise was a delight. Croissants were a crisp, flaky indulgence. Toast is served with superb homemade preserves. A generous cafetière of strong coffee and a Bloody Mary that was boldly spiced was just the ticket to set us up for the day. Add to this magnificent views of the gardens and the river Eden and tip top service and you have gotten yourself off to a great start to the day! I highly recommend to everyone.

Visited half a dozen times in the last year. The owners know how to run a village pub/restaurant. Tastefully quirky interior design. Excellent but down to earth wine menu. Top quality cask ales. Dog friendly. Very convivial atmosphere and a range of seasonal events. But top of the shop s the quality of the food. Last night we had the best cheese soufflé ever. Then the tastiest lamb, perfectly cooked. It melted with tenderness and a happy organic rearing. The steak was sublime. We’ve covered many signature dishes in recent months and always come away delighted. Prices are reasonable for the quality delivered. Well done to the whole team. A must visit.

We hired Cumbria Gourmet burgers for an event at our house where we had a large number of guests coming. The food was great and the service was brilliant.

A wonderful time yesterday celebrating our mums 80th birthday. Excellent food and staff and the party of 14 very well catered for, would definitely recommend. Favourites from our food choices were the pea risotto, pulled pork wrap and fish and chips (excellent chips!). Thank you for a memorable afternoon.

Found this place by chance and what a find. I'm not vegetarian but tried the butter nut squash curry and rice and walked to the river to eat it. All packaging (including knifes and forks) bio-degradable. The curry would have given my local curry house a good run for the money and not one bit of plastic in site. Outstanding value for money and a lovely view over the river. In none Covid times we would have gone to the pub but this was one of the few gains from this outbreak, a great curry overlooking the river. Only regret was I didn't buy one of those brownies.
