Can’t wait to repeat Sunday’s fabulous afternoon tea at Bessiestown. Everything was home made, so tasty and melt in the mouth. Too much for us to manage but what we couldn’t eat was plated and given to us to take home. Couldn’t fault the experience.

Really good cafe, part of the delivery. They do a good range of food and the pie with veg and chips or mash was really tasty. Excellent value too. Note that the hot food stops at 1.30 but they open until 3.30. Staff are really friendly too.

Didn't manage to get a table as fully booked however had a pint and service was fantastic! Hope to come back another time but with a booking for food.

Well kept secret! Although this hotel is in centre of town the restaurant is surprisingly quiet. Not frequented by many locals. The food here is excellent. Great menu, every course we had was delicious. Our party had beautiful cheese soufflés, seafood pappardelle, cod, and chicken mains, all well presented and tasty. Lovely desserts too. A couple of bottles of wine reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and would definitely make a return visit.

Very reasonable, a little like Scottish prices. Very friendly Scottish waitress.

Meat was very dry curry sauces were incredibly bland and about as spicy as a carrot . The young lad behind the counter did a good job but the food was rubbish

Travelling back home to east coast of Scotland after flying into Manchester airport. Stopped at Gretna for an overnight stay. Chase hotel was recommended for an evening meal. We are glad it was. Great, friendly atmosphere. I had the special curry and it was fantastic. The staff member that looked after us was Preet, she was friendly, professional and just added to our evening. Can’t recommend the Chase enough. Fantastic meal venue and a true added value to the many visitors to the outlet stores.

Passing thro from down south bought scotch mince pies and steak pies and bridies they were delicious pity it's so far away. 👍

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service my family and I received during our recent visit to your establishment in the on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. During our visit, we encountered two female staff members who were unwelcoming and displayed unfriendly expressions throughout our interaction. My parents, who were visiting from abroad, felt especially uncomfortable and saddened by the treatment we received. They also noticed a clear difference in how we were treated compared to local customers, which left a very negative impression. This was their first unpleasant experience in the UK, and it was quite disheartening. Additionally, we observed one of the employees doing her nails during her shift, which raised concerns about hygiene and professionalism. We believe this kind of behavior does not reflect the standards expected in a reputable business. We kindly request that you look into this matter perhaps by reviewing the CCTV footage from that timeframe and take appropriate steps to address the issue. We hope you will take this feedback seriously and provide proper guidance and training to your staff to ensure better customer service in the future.

OK, a service station Costa, but really enjoy visiting this Costa Cafe. Staff always friendly, and as you would expect coffee excellent, and so are the blueberry muffins 😋

Best fish and chips in the UK, cooked the old fashion way, pity they can't be rapid in newspaper, like years ago, fantastic food.

Stayed 2 nights in late December. Comfy room and exceptionally polite and helpful staff. My wife left her treasured pillow behind and they posted it back next day also refusing payment we offered. Would definitely stay again.

What a lovely place. The cafe is beautiful. The food was fresh, tasty and well presented. The cakes looked absolutely stunning but I was too full to manage one. The lady who served us was polite and professional. We enjoyed a little look in the garden centre and the staff were extremely helpful there too. Looking forward to returning.
