The best restaurants in Central Barrow-in-Furness North West

Bought 3 cheese toasties to take away. Food was cooked freshly, there was plenty of cheese. Coffee not great.

Five of us visited mid Feb and were very happy with the food we received. To went for kebabs. Two went for Pizza including myself but I forget the fifth persons choice. Food was cooked fresh although food was served as it became available. I would have appreciated my pizza served on a hot plate as that this my normal expectation. Food was hot, fresh, tasty, well cooked, and portions generous. We had a mix of soft and alcoholic drinks and I thought all the pricing was fair. Service was good and we were asked if there were any problems with our meals. There were none. The restaurant was initially empty but for us and they turned on a calour gas’s heater to warm the area. Forties sat a little distance from it or it may have become oppressive. Whilst the restaurant was empty during the majority of our visit there were frequent to go orders heading out the door. Overall happy with the meal and I would eat here again.

A friendly cafe for a cup made just as you want it. Tasty pies, sandwiches freshly made. Just the place to take a rest she shopping in Barrow Market.

Delicious salt and pepper box. Will be ordering an extra portion of spare ribs next time too as they were delicious… Would recommend.

First of all this is the first and probably the last review I will ever write because I vote with my feet. However this time I felt genuinely mugged of. I have ordered from the hot potato many of times, not because it's the best option but because it's delivers until early hours of the morning and with that said all my past experiences have been okay. The pizza I received had lots of toppings missing, parts had cheese missing. It appeared toppings had been taken of my pizza by hand. This is not a review of the kitchen staff as I very much doubt this had anything to do with the kitchen staff. It was obvious when I first opened my pizza someone had taken bits of my pizza. I'm not a fussy eater if the pizza had slid around in the box I wouldn't of thought anything of it but iv worked in the industry long enough to know what happened here. Never again!

Too good the food was fresh and delightful staff were cheerful the atmosphere had quite a good vibe definitely recommend to someone new in Barrow

Terrible. Disrespectful to customers. For the second time I ordered a breakfast takeaway on Uber Eats from this cafe. Requested to get more eggs and hash browns instead of sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and avocado. (Just 1 or so, as I don’t like all of these). For the second time they send me the breakfast as it is (pretending like I didn’t request anything, no ‘sorry we can’t do it’, no nothing) and sending me the receipt with my written request on it with the order. Just simply avoid, whoever is managing this cafe clearly knows nothing about customer service. It is a joke. The first time it happened I let it slide but the second time is just plain rude. If you can’t meet your customers requests at least let them know. Don’t pretend they haven’t asked you for anything. Considering I’ve been hearing awful things about this cafe recently, I will not try it ever again.

My order was noodles, salt and pepper chips, chicken curry, fried rice. I will break the food down line by line so no one else has to suffer. Noodles - I opened the tub of said noodles. To receive a whiff of what only could be described as a 20 year old bouncy castle/a seat on the number 3 from newbarns. -1/10 Salt and pepper chips - salt and pepper rabbit droppings, more like. The chips were a mix match of different types of chips, some french fries, some thick cut, some I don’t know what. It’s like they ordered a chip from every chinese in barrow and put them in a bag. 1/10 Chicken Curry - Sloppy mcslopperson is what I would call this. It looked more like a tuna curry. 0/10. Please take this constructive feedback and up your game. I could see in your eyes you have the making of good food. The desire, the passion and the love for food is there, there’s just something missing. So for me, I’m out.
