The best restaurants in Silloth Allerdale North West

This wonderful unique quirky gem was recommended by a friend. I loved it from the minute we walked in. Fab atmosphere. Staff amazing & unbelievably attentive Menu is amazing and its hard to decide what to have, with so much to chose from . We had delicious turkey sandwiches on the most delicious granary bread (fresh from a local bakers) I had tea in a China cup, yes!!! Had about 5 cups and still had some left! My son had a medium (huge)hot choc with the trimmings... wow! And a huge waffle with maple syrup ice-cream and cream too much for him to finish !!! I had seen gluten free scones had been made. So i bought them with Jam & butter to take home . Oh my days absolutely delicious- thankyou! All I can say is we really enjoyed our visit. And I wish it was nearer my home I'd be there all the time !!! An absolute must visit!!!! I will be back.

... indeed they do! Imagine taking a rare 300+ mile journey to revisit your childhood memories, including that of the pub that you were born in. Imagine turning up at the said establishment, full of excitement and anticipation only to be shouted at "You can't park here, I'm expecting people for Sunday Lunch" - maybe the Landlord was psychic and knew we weren't his intended visitors, or he only serves his local clientele with charm? Imagine then trying to hold a conversation with said Landlord about the past, who clearly wasn't interested, simply citing "things change". Indeed they do... just not always for the better... as evidenced at The Bush (previous name, from back in (much) better times.

Amazing food - a first visit to celebrate a 70th birthday and silver wedding anniversary. Such fabulously flavoursome food, all piping hot and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and everyone was warm and welcoming - especially the chef who we chatted to just before leaving! A lovely, intimate dining space. We will return!

The account Mr. Aiken has of our visit is incorrect. He said we arrived on an evening when he was not open...not true! We booked previously and he accepted the booking. Due to slow play on the golf course we were running ten minutes late and we called him to let him know. When we arrived his behaviour was on obnoxious and deeply unpleasant. I can categorically say Mr. Aiken did NOT call the police. After we had been ejected we ordered a takeaway and ate it outside the pub next door. We collected the wrappers and put them in the carrier bag. The next morning we found the carrier bag outside our hotel room! Mr Aiken had, during the night, placed it tbere! We had an excellent home cooked meal, great service and pleasant atmosphere in the dining room of this cosy pub.

The place is small but amazing for ice cream shakes not so much. Ordered Bueno shake and was as thin as milk with chunks floating about. However the sundaes were lovely my kids loved them

I went with a friend we both had lamb it was lovely and tender nothing too much trouble for the staff lovely and pleasant we are now going every week we enjoyed it very much x

Nice friendly staff, first time in this bakery. Bought bread which was excellent and a carrot cake slice, which was a bit dry, but overall very nice local shop.

Nice pub barmaid and punters vaping stinking don't think of people with health issues

Great fish and chips. Freshly cooked. We didn't eat in as we prefer f and c al fresco.

Just came to this restaurant today with a large party including children. They were accommodating but then I found a large piece of clingfilm in my vegetable lasagne. I obviously didn't finish my meal. At first, I thought it was a large onion skin but then my husband unravelled it more and you could see it was clingfilm. When the plates were collected, I mentioned and showed the waitress it. She went back to the kitchen and then came back to offer a dessert. There was no apology and it actually came across as quite frosty. I didn't want a dessert and said this but nothing was offered alternatively apart from they took off £1.50 for one of my children's ice-creams. Really I would well be within my rights not to pay for the lasagne (£14.50) but I didn't want to make a scene. I had eaten about half but there was no way I was eating something that had been cooked with plastic clingfilm inside it especially as I am heavily pregnant. I'm sorry but this was really poor customer service. I hope this review helps them to review the way they handle customers and complaints as it could have been easily rectified in a professional and satisfactory manner.

Visiting the area and decided to try the pizza takeaway despite the mixed reviews. Two veggie pizzas which were both good. I could see why they get some bad reviews as arriving at their takeaway, they seem completely disorganised meaning deliveries are missed or late but the pizza is good which is a shame. If you can then collect rather than depend on delivery and make sure they know you are waiting stating your order name. Ours sat on the top of the oven for 5 minutes until I asked. Good lads trying their best and making good pizza . Give them a chance

Enjoyed our late breakfast here. Everything was cooked perfectly, decent sausage, and bacon with egg, hash brown, black pudding and toast. Screens up, clean place, friendly staff, definitely recommended.

Best kebab I’ve ever had! Never been to Silloth so don’t know the local establishments but stumble on this place and it was delicious
