Blue Dolphin Cafe in Allerdale

Enjoyed our late breakfast here. Everything was cooked perfectly, decent sausage, and bacon with egg, hash brown, black pudding and toast. Screens up, clean place, friendly staff, definitely recommended.

We were there for breakfast on Monday, 8 of us from age 2 1/2 to Knocking on a excellent value for money, very comfortable and very safe under the current circumstances, will certainly go there again.

We stopped here on a visit through Silloth on the way to Allonby. All we requested was a portion of chips and it wasn't very busy. We waited for 30 minutes which is longer than I've ever had to wait in any chippy. When the chips finally did come they weren't hot, no salt or vinegar offered and they forgot our drinks. I would have expected some kind of apology for the wait but none was offered. Silloth itself would have been nice if it weren't for the people there being rude and letting their kids run around swearing and chucking bottles at strangers. As a Cumbrian myself I really feel ashamed at this abhorrent behaviour and really hope something can be done to clear up our coasts.

Seven adults had our lunch meal at this café, and it seriously tested our patience. We were quite impressed with the efforts that had been made to ensure customers were socially distanced. The café was also very clean, with an extensive menu of reasonably priced fare. Our orders were soon taken at the counter, and then started the long wait for our food to arrive. Within this time two other groups of customers went up to the counter to complain about their wait, and to demand their money back, which was given. Next act on the entertainment was the cook moaning outside, within our earshot, at the fact she was ready to call it a day due to her feelings - not too professional, and not what we wanted to hear when our food had still not been delivered to our table. It took almost an hour for our food to eventually arrive, and it was very good, but really not worth the long wait - even with the entertainment. Not someplace that I would go back to eat at in a hurry.

Been to Silloth on several occasions in the past but we've never eaten there before. It must be eleven years since I've had a Cornish Pasty and when I saw one in their hot food cabinet I couldn't resist it and boy was I pleased that I didn't. I had it with chips and gravy and it went down a treat. The young lady that served us couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely go back there again in the future, well done to all concerned.

Went here twice whilst on holiday at Solway holiday village and must say food was excellent and friendly polite staff just a short stroll from the beach

We had breakfast here. Full English and a vegetarian breakfast for my daughter. Really nice, reasonably priced and friendly efficient staff. What more could you want

Had breakfast hear a couple ov times very good food Cumberland sosage full English breckey.top noch I onley wiss the chip shop on the corner opeset the road I waited for 2 fish to be cooked in a large que waited 15 mins got to the till and a car sales man from silote walked in to the back ov the que and got my order of fish I was disgrased a bisness with out morales rong and ther wear to poor old ladies beyined me and I walked out all shud do the same wen the orner doesent care about eney 1 including old people wot a disgrase

Long wait time at a non busy time chips were stale steak pie I ordered may well have been a fray bentos one had clearly been cooked in a microwave. Son had chicken nuggets and only got four and couldn’t eat them because they were rock hard and his chips were stale too. Very dirty tables the glasses we where given had black like crumbs all over the inside of them. My mother ordered a tuna mayo baguette it was stale too and the tuna had little to no mayonnaise very expensive for all we could actually eat from the plate.

Called in for breakfast and it was delicious,freshly cooked tasty and plenty of it.My husband had a Cumberland sausage with his and it was delicious.Reasonable prices too.Definitely recommend.

good priced food served by good staff.good menu to choose from and the breakfast which is what we went in for 3 days was exelenta .

We visited today Sunday 2nd June before we headed home after a stay at local holiday village. Food was fresh and hot, service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Seems to be a very popular place with the locals/regulars. Hubby had a full english, myself a standard breakfast and Sam had childrens fish and chips. Really enjoyed my frothy coffee :D :D.

We stopped of here after an hours walk along the prom, kids were hungry and I needed a brew. We found inside to be comfortable with a decent choice on the menu all at very reasonable prices. Kids meals were simple, sausages and chips but my fussy eaters wouldnt have beans or peas....they had to have salad! The lovely staff obliged and we enjoyed our meal. They even put my sones milk in takeaway cup for him as he hadnt had much of it. Very smiley friendly place.

we have been going to this cafe in june every year for the past 4 years for a weekend, food is always a good standard, the staff are friendly and happy, worth a visit

What a great find for a Sunday morning breakfast. Couple of locals in who were very friendly as were the 2 ladies serving and cooking. Great choice for breakfast we choose standard and big breakfast, hubby not liking mushrooms were happy for him to swop.

Travelling from Birmingham to silloth for a holiday but we could not book in until 14.00, we arrived in silloth at 09.00 starving the only place open for breakfast on bank hoilday monday was tge Blue Dolphin cafe, so in we popped.

Brilliant ... good value massive portions... you leave Hungary ... very accommodating and child friendly ... we was on holiday in silloth ideal for breakfast and dinner

Don't expect quick service but you will be happy with how good the cook tempts you to return. Very delicious 😋 grub served at a good price!!

Good food and great value for money. Good range of snacks and mains. Has ramp upto cafe. Couple of tables outside. Toilets are downstairs. Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place.

Arrived in a group of nine. Clean cafe feel. Good service, resonably priced. Food cooked fresh, so slight delay, but worth it.

Small business nowadays should accommodate simple things like swapping a hash brown for fried bread not this woman, she was rude and extremely unhelpful, the food was of extremely low quality and there was a strange smell in the premises, cheap sauce and strange table decor topped off with a honking experience, avoid this place the drive to maryport is advised.

We always go to the Blue Dolphin Cafe for breakfast when we visit Silloth, the staff are lovely and the food is great, the full English is really good value and great quality, as is everything else. Top marks for this great little British cafe !

We visited here for lunch on a day while on holiday at our holiday park. We were served quickly and staff were very friendly. The food is cooked fresh on arrival but we still didn’t wait too long for it be served. All food was very nice and great prices. Will return if we visit the area again.

We took the kids for a fully cooked breakfast. Options were limited for kids with no fully cooked breakfast option which was disappointing and they couldn't accommodate this when we asked.

Iv been visiting solway holiday village for over 10 years, each time I'm down I visit the blue dolphin cafe for food. Couldn't fault the place, everything is freshly made and served with a smile. I will continue to visit the blue dolphin cafe, highly recommend the steak pie

We called in at Silloth on our way to the end of Hadrian's Wall at Bowness-on-Solway. The cafe is opposite a pleasant park. We decided on the steak and ale pie with chips and peas - excellent quality and value for money. I left feeling well fed and ready to continue my journey.

Después de pasar la noche cerca de la playa en nuestra casa motor pensamos en comer el desayuno como un lujo. Me dijo que no comer nearky aquí a menos que están sedientos, pero el servicio era tan lento que no muera de desnutrición mucho antes de la comida llegó. Pedí el beicon, salchichas y setas y tostadas y mi pareja tenía su en un largo de baguette. Nuestros dos tazas de té fueron llevados después de unos 10 minutos y el saquitos debe haber sido de los más baratos de calidad como agua de color apenas así gastar pedí otra bolsa de té. No mejoró y el sabor era horrible. En realidad esperamos 30 minutos más para llegar a la comida, que era sorprendente, ya que había 5 personal detrás del mostrador y nos podría ver cualquiera de freír nuestra nkt desayuno cada tan a menudo alguien wojuld refugio a la esquina y realizar algunas tareas, por lo que suponemos que era donde nuestro desayuno sartén era. Cuando la comida llegó fría, fue increíble no es sorprendente, ya que estas mujeres que pasamos todo el tiempo detrás del mostrador contar chismes y bebiendo café, preseumably, no otros clientes. El tocino era bastante magro, la salchicha pálido y apetecible, que es pasty dentro, y las setas en lata eran apenas tibia y duro, sin cocer? ? El pan era comestible. Mis socios baguette no era mejor y curiosamente, no había tomates. En general, una mala experiencia y yo no comería allí, incluso forr una comida gratis. Nos molesta cuando wesaw otros agradables cafés como una vieja dama había señalado Blue Dolphin y no éramos conscientes de cualquier otros establecimientos, siendo desconocidos. Recomiendo que mire a su alrededor antes de hacer su elección.

Estaba muy decepcionado con la comida, pero no sólo el servicio de atención al cliente también, tardó 30 minutos en ser servido a nuestras bebidas y otros 15 para dos desayuno inglés completo. Me cobraron el precio completo, aunque nos pidió que varias cosas se eliminan de la orden. El 1830 fuimos a pagar y la señora claramente vimos que estaba sosteniendo una tarjeta pero falló para informarme que no tenían una máquina de tarjeta, así que tuve que hacer el viaje hasta la estación más cercana. . .

We have enjoyed breakfasts here during our holiday nearby. The food is good honest food and amazing value for money. The ladies are amazing and really welcoming. Would recommend to everyone :)

Had breakfast with our kids, nothing fancy here but good old fashioned English breakfast went down a treat and was exactly what we were looking for. Clean, unfussy and staff were lovely.

Cuando fuimos era simplemente abrir para la temporada y para ser honesto, olía un poco a humedad, pero no está mal. Me imagino que hará después de un par de días/semanas. Teníamos el desayuno inglés completo y pagar el extra de £1. 50 por Cumberland de salchichas. Deberá actualizar a esta salchicha es deliciosa. Allí donde 6 adultos y 6 niños en nuestro grupo. Así que no es un grupo bastante y no tuvimos problemas. El personal encantador y la comida era buena.

I would not recommend this. It is cheap but not nice. I had the tuna baguette melt it was cold inside the tuna looked like cat food. Jacket potatoe was hard. Toasted had big chunky raw onions. Staff not friendly poor service. Cutlery dirty.

You can have as little as a coffee and toasted tea cake for £3 or anything up to home made pie.All good and friendly people.

Restaurantes, aniversario romántico, de impresionar a su compañero de clase alta en una primera fecha? No. El Blue Dolphin es un excelente baratos seaside caffe. Té decente, gran huevo con patatas fritas comidas en un ambiente agradable, limpio, personal servicial, agradable bien entrenado.

Parado en el Blue Dolphin para un almuerzo para llevar y me pareció que el baguettes eran preciosas. La salchicha de cumberland fue preparado perfecto y era agradable y picante. El pan también era agradable perfectamente horneados y agradable y suave. Esperé bastante para mi comida, pero me dijeron que estaba pedí cocidos a la orden. El café en sí estaba muy bien y limpia por las señoras que trabajaban allí y se podía ver que estaban trabajando duro en la cocina abierta amplia detrás del mostrador. Mientras yo estaba esperando mi comida miré el menú y tenían mucha variedad a precios razonables. La única cosa que me quitó el café era que en su interior había un fuerte olor a moho humedad. Probablemente impediría comer dentro, pero sin duda volveré para tomar más comida. Comida muy sabrosa

Fuimos aquí la mayoría de las mañanas cuando en vacaciones en silloth. Agradable cafetería que ofrece un buen desayuno inglés a precio razonable. El personal amable y acogedor. Nunca fue completa, lo que nos sorprendió ya que no había muchos lugares de comida alrededor, pero es una ventaja cuando u no tienes que esperar para una mesa.

Llamamos aquí sandwich 3 para llevar y dos cafés. Cafés llegó en 3 minutos. Pensamos.. genial! Treinta minutos más tarde seguía esperando para llevar eran lo mismo:! Mi compañero preguntó lo que estaba sucediendo, le dijeron por el cocinero que eran la segunda última orden en el camino??... no para nuestra espera! aplogises Bastante simple si no proporcionamos un servicio de comida para llevar a un buen escala temporal.. al menos decir a sus clientes de pedir hay una media hora de espera la mente, y si no y un cliente está esperando mucho tiempo para un bocata rápido para llevar al menos un poco la empatía con sus clientes! No regresara... no por la comida (era decente) sino porque si los largos tiempos de espera y peor aún la falta de empatía del personal. Servicio al cliente muy malo. Ahórrate tu tiempo y vete a otro sitio.

Called at lunchtime. Simple menu based on egg and chips and microwaveable things. Very poor. Better places in Silloth, but probably ok if you have kids who want fed quickly. Staff were pleasant.

En una visita familiar a la soleada Silloth al rally vintage echamos un vistazo para almorzar y caminamos después de la Blue Dolphin decidió entrar se parece un poco peligroso desde el exterior, pero agradable y limpio en el interior. Elegimos nuestra mesa se sentó la camarera vino y tomó nuestra orden de la comida llegó en 20 minutos 3 tartas bistec con patatas fritas y una hamburguesa y patatas fritas las tartas eran calzo un bloque con bistec y estamos realmente delicioso. El único inconveniente era que no había patatas fritas caseras pero aún estaban deliciosos. Sin duda llamar de nuevo.

No es un mal lugar para comer, pero es mejor en Silloth. Es un tipo de microondas lugar donde la comida es comestible y las bebidas calientes. Obtienes lo que pagas, y que no es el entorno o la decoración, aunque estaba limpio y alegre. Simplemente bien, pero no memorable.

25 min wait in an empty room listening to every word of the staffs life's at full volume...........poor quality food served slowly .........avoid .....!!!

Visit this cafe quite often when in Silloth. Service is always great staff are polite and always there to help. Food is good and the price is also good.

Always my local fave for a fry up - local produce, nice service and great prices! Also I recommend the Cumberland sausage baguette, anytime of the day!!!

OK The Blue Dolphin will never pretend to be a Michelin star restaurant, but for the money is unbeatable in a place with limited eating options. Also for all it looks dated from the outside, is immaculate inside and service is quick and polite.

The Blue Dolphin cafe in Silloth is a seafront place which is great value for money.. Good hearty home cooked food and lovely friendly staff to serve it.. Will be back next year when we return..

Had family breakfast here on last day, food ok, good value, toilets were out of order though and they only took cash. Very friendly staff.

Buen café con vistas al verde. Excelente, con un precio comida cocinada a su gusto, así que puede ser un poco lento cuando hay mucha gente pero que es justo y no advierten - y que se llena bastante porque es tan bueno. El Cumberland salchichas era una generosa porción de salchichas correcta de Cumberland servido con huevos, patatas fritas y frijoles - todo por debajo de una fiver!

It does get busy if you are not there quick enough but the food there was very good. I am a bit of a fussy eater myself but i would love to eat from here again.
