Overall a 5 with the food and service, little slow with bookings but understandable with it being a little pub, dog friendly x

Very nice pub, the food is very good , the staff are very helpful, but the gents toilet could do with a deep clean and upgrade. Going back soon for Sunday lunch.

Best place in Silloth for good old fashioned pub grub , Sunday roasts a speciality and to top it off they have a varied selection of ales and spirits. The Cumberland occasionally puts on live music and karaoke if that's your thing. There's a big ol carpark out front and disabled access (a ramp) if required too.

We went for a meal yesterday evening, both of us chose fish, chips & peas (fish locally sourced). My husband said the fish was the best he's eaten in a long time, chips were freshly cooked. I completely agreed, meal was excellent. Good portion sizes too. Lovely young lady who served us, friendly manner. Husband said the beers were good too. All fairly priced. We will be back! Thanks again

Two visits here. Both occasions food was good honest pub grub but good portions and tasty. Service a mixed bag, first occasion we were served by a younger staff member and, despite bar being busy she was cheerful and friendly. Last night was quite and the staff member looked as though she would rather be anywhere else. Cab make you feel quite uncomfortable as a diner when simple requests feel like an imposition. Worth a visit for the food though.

Lovely Sunday lunch at the Cumberland Inn, good service and food served very quickly despite being very busy, the prices are very good as well including drinks. Had roast beef, and it melted in your mouth. The fruit crumble was homemade made and delicious. Only £11.90 for two courses.

First time in this place as we were staying at stanwix lovely we place in dinning room staff really friendly had banter with lass just pub food that was fine with us

Does not look great from the outside but don't let that put you off. Staff very friendly and helpful. We called in on the of chance of a meal, you do need to book. We were accommodated as they had room. Dog friendly but you sit in the games room not a problem for us. Locals drink and eat there so you meet people living in the area. We will definitely stop here again.

Staying local on Solway, and visited The Cumberland for food. Not a massive choice on the menu, but the food was faultless. Very good value for money. Good size portions. Would visit again. Staff also friendly and welcoming.

Lovely food shame about the service. bar staff come across abit arrangant told us we had to book because there get busy witch we sat for a good hour and No1 else turned up apart from one family what didn't book iver... So I don't know what the arrangance was about from the bar women ..place could do with a decent cleaner too..

No problems with the sunday lunch which was enjoyable. Only one other couple in the dining part. Didnt really feel welcome by the lady that served us, felt more like she didn't want to be bothered.

Ordered 2 takeaway Sunday lunches for today walked in to collect them, normally met by the very pleasant landlord unfortunately was missing today we were met by a deek of death off the bar person who's only words were "takeaway yer" name?, waited 10min not a problem, finally appeared says £19 gave £20 no comment I says thank you to the back of her head and we left!, maybe needs a career change lol...

Went for Sunday lunch and the food was fab, all freshly prepared, and served very promptly!! Portion sizes were excellent with a generous serving of meat. Service was mixed as some staff were more friendly than others.

Food was amazing my 9 year old daughter really enjoyed the kids nugget meal she loved how it was presented to her on a plate. She was really amused because she had the option of chips or alphabet letters Gammon was massive couldn't manage to eat it all.

This place is deceiving. Went here as a group of 15. It was a 5 minute walk from stanwix holiday park where we was staying. Locals in the bar at the front side of the pub where very friendly. Food was fantastic. Every meal was brilliant. Compliments to the chef. To get 15 meals ready together and every meal to be fantastic is some effort. 15 happy people. Very well priced aswell. Will definitely be back next time we come staying at stanwix.

Great place, booked at short notice and they accommodated us within an hour. Service was very good, staff extremely friendly. Now the important part, the food was fantastic. 5 mains and 5 desserts and not a bit left on any plate. Definitely going to go again before going home. If you're in the area Definitely make a trip there.

Just been here for the first time and it won’t be the last. Hadn’t booked, but luckily got a table. Great service, delicious starters of mozzarella sticks and garlic mushrooms (these were great). Mains of Steak pie and Lamb Henry followed and were devoured. Sadly, couldn’t find room for dessert, this time, but we’ll be back soon.

I visited the Cumberland Inn for the first time. I had the traditional Cumberland sausage and chips, it was cooked to perfection. The customer service was wonderful. I will be back for more. Please check the opening times before coming during the week.

Good atmosphere in pub and dining area clean but dated needs face-lift get old ornaments thrown out and it will give a better reflection on area. Pleasant staff and beer garden is fine. Please take time to pouring a Guinness..yes I like Cumberland 👍

We always come here for a meal when l visit my mother who lives in Silloth. I have never been disappointed by a meal from the Cumberland which is usually either Surf and Turf or the Mixed Grill. The landlord and staff are friendly, the prices good and we always leave full and satisfied.

I cheekily asked for a slab of pie rather than a portion. And that's exactly what I got 😄. It was delicious

We have been here a few times, 4 adults, 3 children & 2 dogs. The food is all home cooked and absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely somewhere I would recommend 100%!!

Always great food for the Sunday lunch

We were recommended the Cumberland Inn from Green View Guest House in Silloth and what a cracking pub this is. We all had home made steak pie, chips and veg with a couple of pints of Guinness and some home made apple crumble for desert. It was really good, honest pub food with a couple of decent pints to match, just the job, thank you and highly recommended!

Basic decor but food is decent for pub grub

The menu left one of our group struggling for choice, as there was not a lot to choose from. The food was not cold, but not hot either. However the staff were friendly and the place was dog friendly which is a bonus.

Food was absolutely lovely, freshly cooked and plentiful. Service was excellent.

My wife and I called in a few weeks ago on a Sunday. We both had the Surf and Turf! It's was absolutely delicious, to top it off homemade chips too! 10 out of 10. The lady serving us was really chatty and plesent! If you want proper home cooked food visit you won't be disappointed. Chris and Sharon Dickson
