Cumberland Inn in Allerdale

Staying at Stanwix again, decided to try the local brew. Was welcomed by the Bar man instantly, really friendly vibe, the pub was mixed with some locals and some on holiday, food was being served which looked all good but didn't try this time, over all a small little family friendly pub and I will be back again on my next visit to silloth.

This is a down to earth pub serving decent pub grub and real ale at sensible prices, it is however let down by the foul language of the clientele & the apparent reluctance of the owners/management to control it.

A lovely welcome of the staff, very friendly the food was delicious we are now making it our local for our night out they also have music nights, also starting doing lunch time meals which are very good, not expensive

Four of us had an evening meal on Sunday. The dining room was quiet and quirky, the landlord very friendly. The menu was reasonably priced, the food tasty although the portions weren't huge (perhaps reflecting the price paid). The pub also had an excellent pint of real ale. We'd go back. Note that the pub doesn't do food on Monday evenings in the quiet season.

My wife and I were staying in holiday accommodation in Siloth, called in for a pint and evening meal in the beer garden. I went into the bar (only room other than restaurant) to order food. The foul language coming from the clientele was disgusting but apparently normal as the bar person did not challenge anyone. My wife and I went to the restaurant the food portions where good the food was passable, chips were undercooked the peas were cheap and nasty however it was not overpriced so I suppose acceptable. Not a place we would return to due to the foul abusive aggressive and unacceptable language that remained unchallenged throughout our meal, even when families with children came into the restaurant staff did not challenge or ask their clientele to stop.

Wow how abrupt was blonde women behind the bar. Never really held back on showing us she wasn't happy as we where last reservation. Food was not cooked enough n warm. No offer of more drink or dessert. Asked for water no option just got tap.

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Responsible price. Ny steak was cooked beautifully and the mixed grill is very good. We would return.

The food was really good. Something for everyone. It was very busy every night. The hospitality was lovely and the prices very reasonable . Would definitely reccomend

Would not recommend the Cumberland , we had Sunday lunch , no other option of menu . The mash was lumpy veg soggy and the staff were rude and unfriendly, we were a family of 4 and another couple . The bar was dirty and toilets even worse , beer garden, alot to be desired

I wouldn’t not recommend here to anyone. The place was dull, full of flies, not clean and the toilets a whole other level of disgusting. 4 of our drinks had green slime & black floaters floating in them. We left before we even ate the food. Disgusting.

I rang and ordered our Sundays dinners to takeaway. We ordered a roast beef and a roast turkey dinner and was told to pick it up 20mins later. When I arrived the gentleman behind the was very welcoming and friendly. Once I paid either cash or card, I was promptly served by the waitress. The food was piping hot and fresh. They were good portions and plenty of meat. Would highly recommend trying as it was great value for money.

Great little place to eat, the food is amazing and the people are so friendly. We all had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back 🥰

Due to us being booked int o a local campsite that claimed to be dog friendly but wasn't we spent a lot of time and money in here. It wasn't the cheapest bar we visited and the choice of beer was limited but the food was wonderful and this was reasobaly priced, when I say not the cheapest ,it was cheap by average (£8 for a large wine and a pint of ale) While there we had the fish and chips,lovely HAlf chicken and chips, very tasty and a double burger and bacon with chips, very good value.

Stunning Food. Real home cooked food with generous portions! The mixed grill was a real delight. Staff are brilliant. Would visit again if in the area!
