Large country cafe in a rural location set on a small farm with nature trails & small animals etc. The cafe is larger than anticipated with a countryside decor. The cafe has a good menu, I had a “McWellington Pattie” which is a sausage Pattie, hash brown, fried egg & cheese served on a ciabatta. It was excellent & good value at £8.50. This is better than the normal cafe.

We booked a table for 10pm as we were working late. We arrived at 10:07pm due to traffic, and were greeted with “You’re very late.” And a cavernous sigh. From then on in the service was rushed, curt and rude, despite there being other tables in the restaurant until about 10:45pm. We ordered a beer each which was fine and then at 10:30pm ordered a glass of wine…another cavernous sigh. When the waiter brought the wine, “no more drink. We’re closed now.” The food was excellent, but having booked for 10pm we were then treated like a huge inconvenience, with food just short of thrown at us.

I never knew this place existed until my better half told me her parents were going for an anniversary dinner and it would be good to surprise them…..so glad we went, carvery Sunday dinner and the quality was excellent and superb value for money too! Must mention the waitress who was in on the surprise, she played her part well and kept us informed with my in-laws arrival, they loved the surprise!

Having read the mixed reviews we thought we would give it a try. The interior is so clean and decorated lovely. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly staff. My husband had the Gammon, egg & chips which was well cooked and he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the small fish & chips which was such a good size portion I couldn't eat it all. The fish was white and meaty and the batter very crispy. They are dog friendly and had a treat for our dog Barney. PLEASE ignore the negative reviews because The Belle Vue is under new managment who have only been in 8 weeks. They are trying to rebuild the damaged reputation from previous owners. I'm just sorry that we are on holiday and this is not our local oub back home

We live locally and visit regularly with our grandchildren who always enjoy the displays. You really need the weather to stroll the gardens

5 of us met up here, as walk in, They found us a table, It was clean, staff friendly, we ordered the food arrived with in reasonable time fresh and hot. Menu choice very good, portion sizes very good cooked well. Prices reasonable. Staff helpful and cheery. Had read a couple of bad reviews but then often there are those that look for issues. Will be back.

You could never call the Fletcher Christian a cosy pub. It is a large, modern bar with background music and multiple televisions showing sport in abundance. In pubs like this it really depends on who else is in at any particular time and we were perhaps unlucky to have to negotiate smokers congregating on the front door step and then being sat near a bunch of blokes whose language was both loud and ripe. Our lagers however were crisp and fresh and the service friendly and efficient.
