Large country cafe in a rural location set on a small farm with nature trails & small animals etc. The cafe is larger than anticipated with a countryside decor. The cafe has a good menu, I had a “McWellington Pattie” which is a sausage Pattie, hash brown, fried egg & cheese served on a ciabatta. It was excellent & good value at £8.50. This is better than the normal cafe.

Sadly over priced, a scone with butter and a pot of tea for one £6.25, not value for money, it is only a cafe. Shame as it's a lovely local little place, people on the table next to us also commented on rather high prices.

Wellington Farm café, a bit disappointing about how as soon as I came, the place was absolutely packed full of guests. Had to wait outside for 20 minutes, but things changed from there. I ordered a home-cooked ham sandwich with a side of fries, and I didn't expect the food to be this astonishing. Customer service is great, and I can tell they (the staff) are pleased to be there, I rate this a 4/5 due to the place to be overcrowded. Overall, the café is very good.

Due to a milk allergy when we arrived I asked if they had any dairy free food available and was rudely told "No we are a farm". Not a particularly helpful or considerate response to customers with allergies. There are plenty other farm shops and cafes that are more than helpful in accommodating for allergies so I won't be returning here and would not recommend it for anyone with allergies or dietary requirements.

Arrived and went into cafe for a coffee. Asked for a table for 3, told as we hadn't booked, they couldn't accommodate us. (Despite there being 2 empty tables) I asked if they could do takeaway, she said yes and walked away. Waited 10 mins for 2 lattes, a hot chocolate, and 3 cakes, which cost us over £20, the 2 tables were still empty. We went outside with our drinks, and when leaving, the tables were STILL empty. Complete lack of customer service.

£7.95 for cake with ice-cream. Banoffi Pie. The poorest dessert I have ever purchased. There was not 1 piece of banana in the pie and hardly surprising as it was that small! I mentioned this to the waitress who cleared our plate and rather than apologising or rectifying she stated she doesn't like banana so actually she is a fan of it and that was it. We are local and this is our second visit but will also be our last. Also little tip your acoustics are totally wrong to be playing any music. Terrible sound.

Was very average! They don’t do soya milk even though the menu says they do. Staff not interned offered oat milk, fair enough but not great! The menu is ok but very limited to coeliacs. Waited to be seated as the sign said. Lots of empty tables but had to wait for one to be cleaned? Why not have all the free ones clean so people aren’t left waiting?! Plus I’m not sure I’d call it clean?! Could be great but not atm!

Ordered Farmhouse Breakfast and Vegetarian Breakfast both being rather costly at £12.99 and £11.99 respectively expecting a lovely meal. Unfortunately the meal was smaller than expected only 1 egg, huge watery lukewarm tomatoes, bacon stuck together - it definately was not good value and would not order again

This was a great tearoom! We stumbled across this while holidaying in Cockermouth. There were only a few vegetarian meal options, but we had a halloumi burger and halloumi and red pepper panini (both came with salad and coleslaw, the panini with crisps and the burger with onion rings and absolutely amazing chips) Either will do you for a full meal, the absolutely enormous burger probably for even more, and they were delicious and hearty food. The chips which came with the burger were also really nice. The ice cream was quite creamy and tasty, especially the forest fruits one, though the rhubarb and ginger has less ginger than preferable. Around the tearoom, they have animals (highland cows, goats, sheep, chickens, a donkey, alpacas and laamas) and a woodland which are great for kids, though as it had been raining, we were unable to see the alpacas. Overall, would recommend to anyone in the area- both the tearooms, and the ice cream (which you can take home in a tub for later).

We visited today after pre-booking a table for 1.00pm. It was just as well that we did because the cafe was very busy, however that did not impact on the quality of the service or the food. Our order arrived within 20 minutes and everything was delicious with generous portions. Although we were full we did make a special effort to have dessert - it was well worth it. The cakes and desserts are all home-made and very impressive. There is also an extensive range of home-made icecream which is well worth trying. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. Wellington Farm is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

My wife and I visited wellington Farm for teh first time yesterday for a late lunch When we arrived the car park was full and we just found a space. As we got out of the car all we could here was the lovely sound of children enjoying themselves, it turns out it was a halloween special day We ventured to the cafe expecting it to be full but the waitress welcomed us with a lovely smile and showed us to a table. The menu was excellent with some great specials. We had a Ham and Chesse Panini and the Cumberland sausage baguette. The drinks arrived quickly and our food was served within 10mins. Wow what a feast. The cafe became very busy but the waitresses made everyone welcome and all the children received a treat as they came in. We left after about 40 mins very full and we had had a lovely experience. We are retired now and have time to visit these types of cafes, we will be back . A great asset to Cockermouth

Sadly today (23/10/23) was not a good experience. We had to wait over 40 mins for our food and when we politely asked if it would be much longer the manager was very rude and said we should have booked. She laboured this point for over 10 mins even though we explained it was one of the parties birthday she still went on and didn't apologise for the delay. When the food arrived it was very poor: hot avocado and very hard poached eggs, panini that was more like baguette and yet more hard poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. Not good. As the food was already paid for and we had a very uncomfortable discussion with the manger we didn't complain. A birthday spoilt and young children with memories of an unpleasant experience.

We waited 15 mins to get pale sausage and rubbery scrambled egg. Waited another 10 mins for fresh toast which was cold. Disappointing as this used to be a great place . Waitress wasn’t really bothered with the polite feedback we gave. Not good value for what we paid and should have gone to places in Cockermouth town centre for a better breakfast experience

The surroundings are beautiful and the food at the cafe is lovely. The only thing I didn’t like, was the lecture we got at the start of our trip about using the hot tub. My husband ordered the ‘Afternoon tea’ with coffee and I had the pancakes, which came with bacon and maple syrup, and a cappuccino. Our drinks arrived first, along with my husbands scone with jam and cream, the scone was really not very good and the jam was more like jelly in an individual pack and the clotted cream was also in a packet! My husband ate and finished his meal and we both had our coffees and still my pancakes had not arrived! When they did arrive the pancakes were very nice and home cooked and the bacon was cooked very nicely but the entire plate was swimming in maple syrup!I’m sorry, but wouldn’t it have been better for the scones and pancakes to have arrived together and the syrup to have been in a separate small jug? Also, bearing in mind we were on a farm for the cream, at least, to have been local?Disappointing!

I didn’t even know this place existed until recently and I’m a frequent visitor to Cumbria. The food is outstanding, and with first class service and friendly atmosphere this place is well worth a visit.

Well away from casual passing trade this cafe was full by lunchtime (but easy to get a table at 10 am) which shows that those in the know are aware of its quality. Huge all day breakfasts, delectable Pavlova, and very reasonable coffees. Great views over the countryside if you get the right table; on a farm so the kids can visit the animals.

We call in often with the small grandchildren as it is informal and has play areas. The food is all fresh and carefully made -really nice staff . Their own ice cream is superb and the English breakfast is worth making a detour for

Being a local I come here often with friends and family and and can't tell you the number of times over the years... loads....and I've watched it grow in to what it is now but today will most definitely be my last time! As we walked in I looked up to see fly rolls full of dead flies hanging from the ceiling beams!! It's just vile!!!! Who wants to sit and eat food with hanging dead fly rolls as decorations? I'm done!! Never again! Sorry Wellington but it's truly awful.

Such beautiful animals including alpacas and highland cow in a lovely setting across the mountains. Haven't seen a peacock this close for some time. While visiting we also enjoyed an ice cream which is one of my favourites

We popped into here on the way home from holiday and were very impressed. 2 of the group are coeliac and they were able to cater for us without any problem as there are a wide range of gluten free options.

Visited today & had a really nice meal at a reasonable price. The only downside was the waitress cleaned our table and swept all the crumbs & debris onto the floor, on checking the floor it was littered with food particles, surely a brush & pan would be the order of the day after each sitting. I do appreciate they were busy but it made for uncomfortable eating.

I've been to wellington Farm a few times now for lunch and the food has always been okay, nothing to rave about but a decent lunch for a decent price. Until today. I paid £12 for a Wellington Burger and recieved a burger with soggy lettuce, half a piece of bacon and the tiniest piece of blue cheese that a mouse would even ask for more. Futher to that my chips were so anemic that half of them were raw! Hope this is just a one off as the place is lovely and clean and the staff are really good!!

Me and my children called in for ice cream on our way home from a day out. They all really enjoyed the ice cream and the service was excellent. Unfortunately there were so many wasps we were unable to sit outside.

We love this little cafe the food is simple but nice, the ice cream is to die for, and all the staff are friendly. If you have young kids there is an animal park and a play area, the outside tables look out over the fells so on a sunny day it is idyllic.

After a long day we found ourselves near Cockermouth and looked up family friendly restaurants close by. Seeing the great reviews we headed to the farm having checked they didn’t close until 5, and took food orders until 4.30. We arrived at 4.20, quickly looked at the menus and went to order. The children’s hot food all comes with chips, and we ordered 3 chicken & chips. We can’t do chips they said, the fryers already been turned off because we close soon. Then seeing the disappointment said they could turn it back on but it would take 25 minutes to warm up. No problem, the children will have sandwiches instead we said. Then we tried to order a cream tea and baked potato for us. Sorry they said, the ovens off now because we close soon, no hot food at all (this was now just before 4.30) We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Would have been really helpful when we arrived if they’d told us they weren’t prepared to cook anything, and also if they didn’t advertise last food orders for 4.30 when they clearly start packing up well before then. Such a disappointment

After a walk in the lakes a party of 6 of us decided to head for Wellington Farm Cafe for a bite to eat and a brew. On arrival the ample car park was quite full as was the cafe, but we managed to order drinks and grab a seat in front of the very welcome log burner. After a while we managed to get a table and ordered, the cafe was full but despite being very busy the staff were helpful and pleasant, as ever. Our order arrived hot and plentiful, 3 roast dinners in a giant yorkshire pudding, a baked potato with cheese and beans, a ham, egg and chips and a sausage egg and chips. After we managed, just, to finish up we were all tempted into a pudding, the selection as ever was good and looked fantastic, several pavlovas and a chocolate fudge cake. Everyone had a great meal, the prices are very reasonable and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal at any time if they are passing, or to make a special trip out there. Big thanks to all at cafe and we will be back, thank you.

Perfect stop for a coffee break - the view over the lake with bird feeders in front was great. The chairs in the lounge were very comfortable - best decaf coffee I have had. Looked at the menu and it was a shame that only a coffee stop. Did have a taste of the local beers!!

Walked from Keswick centre to Nichol End Marina. A lovely walk but was glad when I arrived at the marina cafe. Roger (jolly Roger) welcomed me in and was so helpful and friendly. It was quiet as the season is coming to an end. I had an oat milk coffee and a raisin sticky toffee scone. It was so big! Put half in a bag to take home. Plenty of choice of scones all fresh and looking delicious. Prices were so reasonable. Roger then gave me a ride in his boat across Derwent Water. He’s such a nice man. It made my day to find a gem of a place. Would def recommend if in the area. Will return and try out the boating/canoeing etc next year.

The best dog friendly cafe in the lakes. Gorgeous food and the warmest welcome. This is our go to place when walking in the north lakes. All of the food always hits the spot but the cakes are just gorgeous!
