The best restaurants in Washington North Sunderland North East

A fabulous little gem of a café, serving excellent and inexpensive food, by owners who genuinely care about their people and their pets. So many cafes come and go in Washington, and many are ridiculously overrated... But CafeK9 is a place that I feel will be there for some time to come. It is unpretentious but unique in what it offers (meals and events for the dogs, for example), and nothing is too much trouble for these lovely people. CafeK9 is very much an underrated hidden gem, that needs to be found and enjoyed. You don't need to take your dog to appreciate the ambiance - but it helps if you like them!

Two wonderful ladies serving us today. They were super helpful and friendly, even explained about all the vegan products as I dont eat meat. Normally subways are quite stressful but this one was relaxed and we didnt feel rushed at all. Would come again just to chat to these two wonderful women! Thank you for exceptional customer service.

We came here with the family yesterday evening and enjoyed everything we ordered. It was phenomenal!!! The wings were SOO GOOD AND CRISPY we ordered it twice!!! And the pizza was cooked to perfection and so good!

Just had a chicken madras and an English chicken and chips ..probably the worst u have ever had from the star tandoori...chicken was dry and overcooked chips were inedible the madras curry was so watery you could almost see through it ....won't be going back

Tried this place last night for the first time. Very impressed! We went for the carvery (about 6pm,) and it did not disappoint. Generous portions of meats, proper Yorkshire puds and beef dripping roasties with plenty of veg choice and thick tasty gravy. If you have any room left there are some impressive cakes and cheesecakes to choose from (huge portions which you may just have to take home! ) There's a cosy ambience there and the staff are lovely - they go above and beyond to make your visit 'homey' - hats off to Josie! It's a bit further to travel for us but after last night, that won't be a problem!

Food is so tasty. I ordered a preorder for 9:30 last night, came exactly on time. I plated it up, so excited I’d been waiting all day for this Chinese. My clumsy stupid self then dropped it all over the floor, smashing bowls in the process. I rang the restaurant, sobbing about it down the phone. My mum had sent me money for a new one because she felt so bad for me. I told them I’d ordered another one, exactly the same, still crying my eyes out over this Chinese, they felt so bad for me they had the new one out to my door within 15 minutes! Completely cheered me up and I have never been so grateful to a takeaway owner ever!!! Thank you so much tasty wok you absolutely helped me end my night happy in bed with a Chinese instead of sobbing in a ball on kitchen floor.

Really tasty food. I love the triple chocolate muffin. The sandwiches are good. The prices are extremely cheap. You cannot beat a good greggs.

Lovely mixed chicken kebabs, great taste and donner in grilled so had a lovely flavour. Go here most weeks

Someone is using your phone number to make scam calls stating they are from 3 mobile. Female Indian accent.

Fast service for a Costa,can get busy,if car park is full there's a huge car park about 2mins away. Alot of business people seem to use this Costa.

Excellent pub friendly staff good atmosphere would recommend

Amazing to say the least! The korma wqs tasty and just the right mildness with a slight hint of spice, the chips fresh and tasty and the naan bread just the perfect amount of garlic and cooked to perfection. The naan ban however was the best out of the lot the spices, onions, peppers was cooked just right, the chicken tasty and tender and the kebab meat thick and tasty with the Balti sauce topping off the taste we where both very happy and satisfied! The service was quick and friendly. Would highly recommend! Best Indian in Washington by far! Thank you and see you again soon :)

Lovely Pizza and I would recommend it

Returning home after a week of lovely food, we decided to finish off with a Chinese. We had a menu that was pushed through the letterbox and as they had a low delivery charge, we gave Woo Lot a try. Our food arrived in no time at all, perhaps a little too quick. Our Yung Chow Chow Mein, looked like bird food or fish bait. The noodles were so small and fine. The other meaty pieces were sparse and one piece was unidentifiable. Needless to say, I didn't eat it. This was by far, the worst Chinese meal, I have ever had.

Great food and service but in winter months it’s freezing. See you in the summer.
