The best restaurants in Boldon Colliery South Tyneside North East

Had Sunday lunch there last week. The food was great, Really large portions and neither of us could eat it all, good selection of vegetables and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We will be back.

I had a fantastic experience at the Wheatsheaf Inn in Boldon! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what truly made the visit special was the blonde barmaid who was working that day. She was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable from the moment we walked in. Her friendly and caring attitude made us feel right at home, and we ended up staying longer than we had originally planned because of how nice the service was. It’s not often you come across staff who genuinely care about making your visit enjoyable, but she certainly did. I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great time with top-notch service!

Spot on, we had Mince & Dumplings and Scampi & Chips. Staff were very pleasant. And the food was hot. Will definitely return in the next few weeks.

The female server made me feel welcome and tailored my needs of being a vegan. Polite, friendly and helpful. She checked with the food allergies to see if I could eat them. I would come again.

Nice pizza, nice kebab. Best chilli sauce I've had for a while, very tasty, arrived quickly especially considering it was a Saturday night

Pizza's were nice but the fish and fish cakes were genuinely the worst I've ever eaten in my entire life. Extremely dry and the batter was extremely thick and greasy, as if it had been refried with a second or third layers of batter. The thing was a weapon on a plate.

Canny pub for something a bit different if you don't go often. I live locally but don't often come as it's pretty expensive and the menu hadnt actually changed since I was there over 2 years ago. The food is good. I had the crab lasagne and it was tasty but not that crabby 😆 Service was okay, they didn't come and check on us after serving the food and i had to get up to get someone's attention to get a new drink and some mayo. The actual pub itself is obviously quirky but all the random things hanging around could do with a clean. Not in a rush to revisit but worth a try if you've not been before.

I read a recent comment of getting food poisoning while eating kebab but sorry to say I don’t think it can really happen because I am having there kebabs every week from last one year and I haven’t had any issues with their food. They serve best kebabs.

Clean, polite staff and food amazing

Visited with daughter. Staff lovely but the food tasted of nothing. No flavour at all to the chicken and long wait for the food too.

Order on just eat lost the Order never received complete disgrace never again complained on the phone very sad phone call regarding order never again

We had previously had a decent meal from here before but unfortunately this time, despite the order being delivered hot, in time and the driver being pleasant we both felt very disappointed with our respective meals. We tend to eat our meals before commenting but our opinion was the same. Sorry, but feel let down.
