The best restaurants in Boldon Colliery South Tyneside North East

Had Sunday lunch there last week. The food was great, Really large portions and neither of us could eat it all, good selection of vegetables and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. We will be back.

Value for money is an understatement. The breakfasts are outstanding and the daily specials lovely choice

Called in at the suggestion of a relative of ours. We were the only customers in the lounge at the time, but what can you expect on a freezing cold Wednesday mid-afternoon? Nevertheless, our welcome was warm and friendly as was the service. Despite being quite quiet, there was a good atmosphere in the lounge, with good music to listen to, and excellent value-for-money home-cooked food to eat. I'd like to return in the evening sometime or perhaps for Sunday lunch. Thank you for an enjoyable visit. (This site isn't recording my star ratings so: food 5, service 5, atmosphere 4)

Great place food amazing and service is second to none

We visited The Travelling Man for Dinner. The waitress seated us quickly and offered us drink. We had a good look over the the menu and there was a few great options. I opted for the beef brisket with fries and gravy. We waited around 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The meat was very tender and melted in the mouth and accompanied with the fries and gravy, it made for a great filling meal.

Always good food and fast delivery

Pizza's were nice but the fish and fish cakes were genuinely the worst I've ever eaten in my entire life. Extremely dry and the batter was extremely thick and greasy, as if it had been refried with a second or third layers of batter. The thing was a weapon on a plate.

Best kebab wraps in the North East, near perfect

Another great Sunday lunch in bar area. Food is excellent, fresh ingredients, very good value. Two courses and two bottles of wine. Amazing as always, thanks

Clean, polite staff and food amazing

Visited with daughter. Staff lovely but the food tasted of nothing. No flavour at all to the chicken and long wait for the food too.

We had previously had a decent meal from here before but unfortunately this time, despite the order being delivered hot, in time and the driver being pleasant we both felt very disappointed with our respective meals. We tend to eat our meals before commenting but our opinion was the same. Sorry, but feel let down.
