Fantastic time and great food thanks to staff for great time Christmas day

We were very excited to try this bakery and the coffee and cake we ordered were lovely, and the portions were very generous! However we were left a little disappointed by the service. We felt we were slightly inconveniencing the staff by enquiring for a table (there was a free table), service at the table took quite a while, then once finished at the table, rather than taking payment at the table, we were asked to take the receipt to the till, which meant rejoining the general walk in queue we had originally joined to get the table. After a fairly long wait, we had been overcharged with an item we had not ordered (which was immediately removed without too much embarrassment). Overall the food was lovely and the bakery is clearly very popular, but we feel with the best intentions, our review would be to assess the process of service a little to ease / remove in turn the bottleneck at the front desk, staff stress, order errors, availability of tables.

Thank you to the amazing team at the Running Fox! We came as a group of 10 on a Saturday without a booking, and they tried their hardest to accommodate us even though they were full. We were seated on the outer decking area, but it was a really cold day so they lit the heaters and brought us blankets and hot water bottles. The food is amazing, but the service was even better! I couldn’t recommend enough.

Counter staff and drivers top class

Stayed in hotel for one night to celebrate wedding anniversary. Room was perfect, clean with a comfortable bed. We had lunch, evening meal and breakfast. All were delicious. Staff very pleasant and chatty.

I've stayed and eaten at this pub many times, I've spent many evenings in the carriage which is now a fantastic outside dinning area, over the years I've been served by some fantastic staff, dawn, Richard, Jamie, Tracey, donner name a few.. but I will not be returning until new owners take on this beautiful establishment, the food has gone down in my opinion, the staff are either kids or older staff who have no time for their customers, my previous visit was not good, but i thought I'd give it one my try, the last one... Poor poor poor

Out for a Sunday drive. Decided to stop for Sunday lunch. Just had the sharers platter. Plenty of meats (3 kinds),vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Everything cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again.

Wish we took more photos of our visit today, I’ve been a fan of the running fox for 5+ years and always take the opportunity to visit when in Northumberland trying out each of their cafes. Today was hands down just an exceptional experience as always, the wholesome family / north east feeling entering the place and service just does it every time. The lady who seen to us just made us feel at home and treated our dog just the same as any guest. 10/10 for service and food, value for money everytime.

Visited today. The staff, one member in particular, were just downright unpleasant. The food is well presented, tastes average and is on the more expensive side. I can accept that but if you want to work in hospitality then at least attempt to be hospitable. Aggressively telling people where they can and can’t sit, no warming of kitchen closing times. Our table was badly positioned, too close to the counter and the door. Ended up in everyone’s ways and eating our food next to other people standing queuing at the counter. We asked for dog treats 15 mins before closing only to be told no, it was too late. The place is busy so I am sure they won’t be remotely bothered by this.

We ordered a takeaway pizza, which was well cooked and very tasty. There's a fair choice of toppings, so everyone should be suited. We were staying in Amble, but it was still warm when we got back!

We stopped in for something to eat after visiting family and were very disappointed with the quality of the meal. My partner ordered the Trio of Longfram Sausages, and he said none of it was freshly cooked but had been reheated, and there was nothing sweet or crispy about the onions. I tried them, and they were like chewy pieces of string with no flavour whatsoever. My mum had the scampi and chips, but I'm pretty sure triple cooked doesn't mean cooking them on three separate days. My Gammon Steak was okay, but again, the chips that came with it were not freshly cooked. I will not be recommending this place to anybody.

My second visit with my wife first a bit chaotic due to our young granddaughter, this one more civilised my wife had fresh quiche and salad myself the chicken club sandwich the best I have eaten generous amount of chicken and bacon served with fresh coleslaw and salad a side portion of chips I struggled to finish it well worth the money with good attentive service.
