The best restaurants in Shilbottle Northumberland North East

We gave dined here on many occasions and the food is always good. The staff are always cheerful and are happy to help with choosing dishes.

Found this place by doing a web search for “best breakfast in Alnwick”. Big car park.. Attentive professional staff. Nice dining room (with a little shop) Great coffee. Quality breakfasts - one ‘full’ and one Foxy scone I think it was called. Good sausages! Two slight observations. I’m never a fan of places taking what could have been a lovely moist piece of bacon and flattening it and essentially drying it out so it’s stiff as a board, but hey ho, it was bacon I suppose. Also (and this happens absolutely everywhere in my experience - which is a bit odd) when beans come in a separate ramekin (if that’s the right word) they’re never piping hot. Overall it was a great visit.

We found this place by the river to have cake. The scones and banoffee cake did not disappoint. Good size portions and great tea. Apparently there are five establishments in the area owned by a local lady.

Absolutely beautiful! Top quality ingredients, friendly service and not expensive. Eggs were really delicious, obviously free range, orange yolks yum! Bought some takeout Steak pie and cakes and again top quality. This is a real gem of a place. 10/10

Lovely lunch as always at Nelsons, staff were friendly and had good hospitality. Great that it is dog friendly. The menu has been the same for quite a while now so hopefully with the new owners some new dishes will be added - definitely could do with some more vegetarian and vegan options!

Lovely pizzas, wrap, cheesy chips and munchy box. Ready for collection when they said it would be. Quick service.

A fantastic meal in a lovely setting. A good choice on the menu with something for everyone. Food was very good. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered a takeaway pizza, which was well cooked and very tasty. There's a fair choice of toppings, so everyone should be suited. We were staying in Amble, but it was still warm when we got back!

We both had Pork Belly with Stir-fried vegetables, Noodles and a spicy sauce. Both our plates were clean. Tthere was plenty of choice but I wasn't eating potatoes or bread and this was the only option on the main meal section that didn't have either.

Food was nice but it was a pity the staff didn’t match up to it. Unless you were male. The woman with the dark hair was only interested in talking to men instead of ensuring guests were happy.

Dropped into this pub whilst staying in the area. Dog friendly, warm atmosphere, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Also served food

My second visit with my wife first a bit chaotic due to our young granddaughter, this one more civilised my wife had fresh quiche and salad myself the chicken club sandwich the best I have eaten generous amount of chicken and bacon served with fresh coleslaw and salad a side portion of chips I struggled to finish it well worth the money with good attentive service.
