They hosted a group dinner for approximately 40 people that they couldn't manage at all. The pizza was older than Lord Armstrong himself. I don't think the 'stew' can actually be defined as stew, just beef and mushrooms with gravy. Half of us finished our mains before the other half were served, and the restaurant obviously tried to serve us all at once. The service was just extremely slow. They also lost the main one of our group had ordered. One person ordered a gluten free cheesecake and the restaurant didn't actually have it. Half the times we went to the bar for drinks it was unattended.

We had an Indian and sat in cafe. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. Staff members courteous and friendly. The cafe is slightly dated but it didn’t deter from a lovely meal. When next in Rothbury we will definitely go again.

This small family-run delicatessen is a great place to shop locally for wholefoods and locally produced goods, including hand-made bread, local jam, honey and chutneys, biscuits and cakes, various local beers and other drinks, cheese and meat as well as plenty of ideas for small gifts. There are also a good number of vegetarian products. Plenty of non-food items too such as genuinely environmentally friendly household cleaning, soap, toiletries, even socks! Really amazing what is contained in this TARDIS-like shop! There is a cafĂ© in the back of the shop which is popular with walkers (I can’t comment as I haven’t been to the cafĂ© myself), and also a separate counter for buying loose local cheese and there’s always a great selection including my favourite Cuddy’s Cave. The one gripe I have being the use of throwaway plastic wrap/cling film in an otherwise very environmentally friendly shop. I must mention the fantastic “tea wall” (as I call it), a large section of shelving containing such a huge range of tea, including herbal and fruit teas (sadly no Dr Stuart’s recently so I have had to buy online). There is also a range of locally roasted coffee. Although we prefer to buy from small local businesses can be difficult to get what we need locally (we aren’t fans of the one local supermarket at all) so Tully’s is really good to pop into for certain items. All in all it’s an essential local store which I enjoy visiting. We recently had family visiting from the Netherlands who enjoyed visiting Tully’s too.

The premises had been refurbished since out last visit in August 2018 - to the better. Very good food and friendly and competent service.

Pleasant lunch with the kids. Mine was a touch over-cooked but the kids rated their chicken as some of the best they'd had. Cartmel sticky toffee pudding was a winner all round. Friendly staff and good service.

Amazing Sunday dinner, served so quickly by wonderfully friendly staff - the beef was beautifully tender and the vegetables were well seasoned. The place was full of happy customers!

We was celebrating a birthday in a group of 7 women. The place was beautiful, clean, spacious and well cared for. We had an amazing party in the massive kitchen. The living room is huge and stunning. The bedrooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, with comfy beds. We also went to the pub below, the locals was so friendly and the bar staff was outstanding.

The smell of cooking oil just hits you when you open the door. Not an encouraging sign. Mediocre coffee and cakes. Seats dated and uncomfortable. Whole place looks untidy and unkempt Asked lady who was serving where the toilets were. Was directed round to the back of the building to a filthy muddy courtyard only to find there was a handwritten sign on the door saying toilet was closed. Thank goodness there are lovely public toilets just round the corner. What a shame that this seems to be the only cafe Rothbury has on what used to be a lovely Main Street but sadly like so many other towns is showing signs of decline. Will take a picnic and a flask the next time we visit Rothbury!

Saturday night: the bar is full of chavs vaping while people are eating. The staff are totally complicit. This is against the law, but it's the wild west out here and nobody cares. After a while we left as the fumes were giving us a headache. Visible vape clouds everywhere and after a couple of drinks, by 9pm they weren't even hiding the fact they were vaping. This is against the law. A case for the Police and Environmental Health.
