We had an Indian and sat in cafe. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. Staff members courteous and friendly. The cafe is slightly dated but it didn’t deter from a lovely meal. When next in Rothbury we will definitely go again.

No stars. Don’t go here. Waited for fifteen minutes for two donner kebabs and chips, when we got home it was kebab meat and chips, no salad or pitta bread Or any sauce at all. £17.50 total rip off. Going to complain to credit card, total tip off. What is a donner kebab? Certainly isn’t just kebab meat which is what we got !! And definitely not a bargain, don’t advertise it as a “Donner Kebab” if it’s only kebab meat, which is what it was.

We got a takeaway dinner here today and it was delicious. We are staying at Powburn and had been out for the day. We warmed it up when we got back to the caravan and cooked our own rice. Thank you so much and for the poppadoms you popped in extra.

Have to say it was very disappointing. Pizza was great. But I ordered the spicy kebab meat. It was totally inedible. Must have come out of the bottom of the freezer. Smelt like it tasted like it was freezer burn. Even the dog turned her nose up at it. I know mistakes happen but come on Anisha you must have smelled it. Ruined a great night.

We were away on holiday and didn’t feel like cooking and so we decided to order a takeaway. We encountered 2 issues. 1) When we went to collect our order the price was more expensive than the website. We we told that the website was out of date! No offer of honouring the price was made as a gesture of goodwill. 2) When we opened our order back at our accommodation we found that both main meals were identical despite the fact that 2 different dishes had been ordered and the fact that the lids clearly stated the names of the 2 dishes. The meal itself tasted fine even if it was in the reddest sauce imaginable!

We ordered 2 dishes, a Makani and a Tikka Masala. During the ordering and collection process our order was confirmed three times. However, when I got home I found they had just given 2 Makani. They were not busy, and it wasn’t a complicated order, no excuse for this poor mistake. We won’t be going back.

Ordered a takeaway from Anisha’s for the first time. Polite and helpful staff member took the order and was able to assure me re. Allergies. Meal ready at the time they said it would be. Really enjoyed the curry as did my partner. Nice flavours and not greasy. Will certainly be back again soon. Thank you

Oh dear... we normally use this most weeks this time the cost of the takeaway we had to ask for a loan from the bank. The starter was not too bad the rest was terrible we paid so much they even forgot the rice never again

Past experience has told me that Indian Restaurants in small towns and villages tend to be awful but Anisha's bucks the trend! Their food is exceptionally good, all freshly made and delicious. Portion sizes are sensible, the naan bread is gorgeous and they do the best saag paneer in Northumberland. Highly recommended.

Consistently good. I particularly like the Lamb Dansak and the Chicken Nawabi but everything on the menu is worth trying.

Excellent idea - an Indian restaurant in a pub. Great choice of pub drinks (order and pay at the bar) with nice Indian grub. Was a bit noisy as the bar was full on a Friday night but a good experience overall. Would definitely visit again or maybe get a takeaway.

The bad reviews on here seem to be historical, not recent. We had possibly the best curry and best service ever. For a 60th birthday treat we booked a night in Newcastle and took the curry train. It's something out of the ordinary, a bit of fun. We were met by lovely polite staff. After pre dinner drinks we were shown to our table where the starters arrived immediately. The restaurant was busy (midweek) and had good atmosphere. Service was very attentive at every table. The chicken tikka was easily the best I have tasted. Larger pieces of chicken than normal but because of that it was juicy and tender. Amazing king prawns too - huge and cooked to perfection. After a surprise birthday dessert brought out by the staff we were advised that the return train had been cancelled! Amazingly, the owner insisted that his son drive us all the way back to Newcastle and absolutely wouldn't accept any payment! Excellent food with superb service. We will be back, and will use the curry train again.

The Tandoori shop is a small counter at which you order food to take away; there’s no seating except a bench on which to wait for your order. You do wait (e.g., 20 minutes), which is fine because the food is made when you order. For a small takeaway place, the menu is huge: every assortment of Indian fare you could want—plus pizza. You can pick the proteins sauce, type of rice. The food is good and a good value (even if there’s more sauce than protein)—especially the naan.
