Great service, delicious sausages, bacon, and perfectly cooked black pudding and mushrooms made for an absolutely top-notch breakfast. Oh, not to forget the great loose-leaf tea to wash it all down. Highly recommended 😁

Called with my daughter for the first time June ‘23 after hearing positive reports from friends. We weren’t disappointed in any way. Nice menu with savoury and sweet items - some lovely cakes on offer too. Service was A1 - parking directly next door and a couple of outside tables too. We enjoyed it.

Wonderful local place to meet for Breakfast, lunch, brunch and early supper. Friendly staff and large portions. After too many years, feels like family. Really care about customers.

Fantastic community run pub. Dogs welcomed, children welcomed, great lagers, beers and a decent wine selection. Well done Ryton community and all volunteers.

Great chippy all freshly cooked to order . Spotlessly clean premises. Skin on Haddock is delicious. The old fashioned way with skin on is so flavoursome 👍Highly recommend this place . Staff are great too

Absolute hell hole The whole place stinks of stale beer, drains and who knows what else, it looks like it hasn't had a good clean in years and the toilets are disgusting. The decor is absolutely bizarre, they've for some reason turned a traditional historic pub in the heart of old Ryton into this weird, grungy, dark place that has the vibe of a heavy metal basement bar. The neon lighting, strange paintwork and bizarre signs and scrawlings on the walls just add to the creepy feel of the place. If you're a cyber-goth you'll probably love it, if you fancy a nice pint and food in a welcoming atmosphere avoid it like the plague

Always been regulars but I’m not working due to covid 19 we’ve not had a Chinese in 9 weeks due to loss of income. Was so excited to hav our favourite Chinese. U now had to order then they text u to pay. So I waited & waited then rang to be told it was delayed. 45mins later rang again still delayed. She said I know you’re regulars but we’re very busy I said not to bother they will need their regulars back when this settles down. Obviously taking too many orders. Think I had a lucky escape as people have now said the food is reheated. Will becoming a regular somewhere else

Popped in whilst walking my dog. Staff were unfriendly and not at all helpful. No evidence of any stotties whatsoever was just told to look at the sandwiches in the fridge. No obvious menu to look at just the main board. Left without ordering

Excellent food served by very pleasant staff.

What a disappointment!! Food tasteless, bland and lamb chewy. We tried to bring taste by adding salt but wouldn’t help. All will go int bin. Presentation poor, food had spilled as you can see!! Never agin and money wasted!!
