Nice and light and airy, loads of tables, loads of parking (be careful in the car park though, it's full of pot holes). There's not enough staff when it's busy (it's actually always busy which shows how good it is in here) so they're absolutely run off their feet. The coffee is mediocre and weak, but the food is really nice (the home made gravy is to die for, and real home made chips too), proper home cooked style food, and some REALLY good cakes too.

Good quality food, good size portions, good service and at a good price! This is a lovely place to come for a full English breakfast! They use geordie banger sausages and Heinz beans so you know you're not getting rubbish! The cafe is quite big so I've never struggled to get a seat!

First visit ,with my daughter, everything great,be back soon.

Visited Grandma Cafe today. Very impressed the choice of glunten free food . Staff friendly. All food looked amazing. A small cafe can offer more choices of glunten free food and it was delicious, than many large well know stores , Thank you .

Got shown to a table and had to ask 3 times before I got served .it was near closing time I think and they were to busy trying to clear their mess up at the counter .won't be returning

Aug.2024 After saying we would not go back due to the declining service and food. Decided to give it a try for a coffee sitting out in the sun. After waiting 10mins went in to check cakes and order. Advised that it was table service, sat for another 10mins left and went home for the coffee as would be quicker. After 3rd visit. Enjoy coming here, but service can be a little slow particularly when busy. Food makes up for the wait

Called in here for breakfast, the food was nice enough - I think my breakfast could have done with something else, maybe hash browns, the egg yolks were hard which spoilt it for me. The Mrs got poached eggs on toast but it wasn't very hot, though her eggs were runny. Coffee was nice. Car park was rough and ready. Desserts looked nice.

The little Grandmas Caffe is located in a place your can't imagine or expect. It's located in such a way to serve the common community of Blaydon, Newburn and visiting tourist in the region. Though secluded from the town, the amount of customers I see trooping in the cafe is tremendous, then I said to my self, this must be due to their exquisite customer service. Because the customer service I experienced is top notch. A staff even came to ask us if we enjoyed our meal.

Went in we sat down waited and waited and waited nobody came over to take our order after 15 minutes we walked out ha ha weird place terrible service

They have a very weird method to serve people which is unique…..and terrible. Left waiting for ages. Got a full English which was terrible. Low quality meat, over cooked eggs with a huge scoop of cheap beans and chopped tomatoes. I also bought a very expensive peach Melba which was tasteless. I doubt I’ll return. It could be great. I wonder what’s holding it back.

We chose to eat here on Sunday 17th March because it was open and pretty close to where we live. I chose the medium breakfast which for the price was fine. It was piping hot and we didn’t have to wait long to be served. Pleasant member of staff who served us. Payment was taken before food was served. I’d go here again. It’s not fancy, but it does the job .

Wasn't happy with the service. Poor and could not be bothered to cater for my allergies. None of the food is labeled and no dietary information either. Manager had horrible attitude when I asked about certain things and won't visit here again.

Wouldn’t eat here again, come inside and waited 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order and they had a disgusting attitude which is totally unfair on us considering we had to wait for someone to actually come and see us, food was disgusting and the customer plates it was served on was unclean which makes it questionable what the kitchens standards are. Please reconsider eating here again as it was horrific

food was flavourless. cakes unlabelled. i have allergies so i had to ask what flavour the cake was and this memver of staff manhandled me and got agressive asking me to leave and telling me im barred. i then asked for refund and she through the money at me, continueing to threaten me

Visited today for the first time. Lovely lunch with excellent service. All staff seemed to work well together.

Come here often with my nana and dad for Sundays dinner. Good value for money and food good. Staff friendly. Only issue is the car park is in dire need of resurfacing. Big pot holes and puddles and grounds uneven. Will end up damaging cars and no good for people with mobility issues.

Cave here for Sunday lunch today 10/02/24 , ordered 1 chicken , 1 beef , Husband found portion size tiny , s couple small slices of beef , he thought mashed potato tasted like smash , I had already give him my mash as there wasn’t enough for him anyway . I had a small bit of breast , now I don’t mind a small portion as I’m not a big eater , Compared to other Sunday lunches we go to this was tight . Nice big pot of tea though for me . So sorry we won’t return , didn’t do it for us 🥴

Five of us had tasty, filling Sunday lunches. We also had desserts, which were also lovely and very good for their price. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient as usual.😊

Only issue is we like cauliflower but can't eat it with all that cheese sauce over it and the Crumble is far to hard .. Part from that we enjoy coming quite regularly.

Unbelievable hidden gem. Called in for lunch following a morning's shopping trip and we were not disappointed. The service and food was top quality with portions to match. Will most certainly be back!

We did have Les joining us at Little Grandmas after a slight technical issue with his dancing shoes. A big shout out to the staff who fed and watered us with great food and drinks. Little Grandma’s is a bit of a hidden gem!

Generous and decent quality tea and coffee, my sons sos roll was huge and good value, but I was less impressed with my steak panini which was a bit bland. Best feature of this cafe is the staff who were friendly with time to talk to customers, but always working keeping the cafe clean.

Worst breakfast we have ever had .Brought a family member here from out the area and felt embarrassed at what they got They ordered poached eggs on toast and both were rock hard. Poached eggs on my husband's breakfast were also like hard boiled eggs . My scrambled egg had obviously been over cooked in microwave as were like rubber. We asked for plum tomatoes but were given a spoonful of tinned chopped tomatoes. Bacon was cold and toast was cold and very dry. Mushrooms were that small and shrivelled could not tell if they were tinned or not. My latte coffee was also cold. Have been here before and felt place has really gone back both in quality and cleaniness. Car park even worse than last time . Huge pot holes even worse after heavy rain.

Visited for the first time today, was easy to find via Google maps and theres a big free car park (mind the pot holes!) The cafe had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were all friendly. We got seated straight away and the place looked spotless. our food came quickly and we all enjoyed what we had ordered. 3 hot meals&3 drinks for just under £30 which I thought was fairly priced for the portion sizes. Dog friendly seating outside the cafe too which is lovely and it'll be nice on a sunny day. We will visit again for sure

Maybe it was being close to the end of there day. My friend and I were enjoying lovely food. When I waitress suddenly dived in and started clearing some of our dishes. My friend had to grab her plate, before her dessert was cleared also. I understand clearing the table. But most places ask first.

Lovely little cafe, home cooked food and a lovely selection of cakes and bakes all on one level so access is good although car par is a bit rough underfoot if your unsteady. That said plenty of parking and little ollies garden centre on the same site.

I went here with my partner who is is a celiac, I asked the waitress twice if the items on the menu with a g meant they were gluten free or meant they contained gluten she said they were gluten free, I asked if she was sure she said she was but she would check , she came out with our order so I presumed she had checked and they indeed were gluten free , but indeed they were not as a couple of hours later my partner was ill has to go to bed and vomited 4 times, his lovely day off ruined , not to mention paying good money to be made ill , I was so annoyed I wrote a private message to Little grandma's cafe stressing the importance of the staff being fully trained and being aware of food intolerances , it says on the bottom of the menu if you have an intolerance or allergy speak to staff which is what we did ! As I said I wrote to them and I got a message back saying management would be in touch I am still waiting , I wrote again saying I am still awaiting a response haven't read it until today when I left another message stating that they obviously don't care about the wellbeing of there customers !! I find this extremely bad customer service not to mention dangerous that there staff do not understand the importance of being sure your serving someone the correct food but to me the buck stops with the management to make sure there fully trained ,but there no response to my messages says it all !!

Lovely bread for my sausage sarnie, but the sausage tasted a bit cheap. The sausage on my husbands full English was better!

Food was good however service wasn't great. We had panninis with home made chips. Had to ask for cutlery. We asked for a pot of tea after our lunch which never arrived & had to go to the counter to pay.

Little Grandma's Cafe, is a hidden gem. Gorgeous home cooked food, from breakfast, to scones, to Sunday lunch, to afternoon tea. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Love it.

Lovely food in a bright and airy place

Today was a very busy day. All the Staff were run off their feet. Still people were complaining!!! The food was excellent quality. Not a bad price. Toilets were very clean. Will be back x

Lush food ,great service and I would recommend going there.

Breakfast was just so so, nowhere near what i expected. Service was quite slow which they advise beforehand is because everything is freshly cooked. The food unfortunately didn't back this up, dry beans, overcooked eggs, cold black pudding, cold hard toast. The bacon & sausages were however spot on. The cake selection in the cold display also looked great. 6/10 overall.

What they offer is nothing like the selection on Social Media. Very disappointed especially since the Lunch Special had sold out by 1pm and it was not that busy. Will think twice before returning.

Fairly price food, good size portion and good quality tasty food, also have a good sized selection of cakes and pastry’s. Been a few times and can sometimes get very busy and it seems that’s where things can go wrong - staff mixing up orders or serving wrong food, however when they did do it right/corrected the mix ups, food was tasty, filling and enjoyable

We were recommended to try this cafe and we weren't disappointed. Really friendly, pleasant people. Great cappuccino, and a bacon sandwich. The wife had a flat white and lemon meringue pie, which were also lovely. Worth a visit; we'll be back.

My friend and I had a roast beef sunday lunch we really enjoyed it Friendly staff and didnt wait very long for our meal to be served. Will definitely recommend it to others. Will also go again.
