I recently visited the Costa located in Next and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed moody and unapproachable, which set a negative tone for the visit. I’m not sure why they were like this, but it certainly wasn’t welcoming. The cake selection was disappointing—limited and of poor quality. The slice I tried was dry and far from fresh, which is unacceptable given the £4 price tag. If you’re charging premium prices for a small portion, the least you can do is ensure the product is fresh and enjoyable. Additionally, the cleanliness of the seating area was lacking. Tables were wet and had leftover food bits on them, making it an unpleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink. As for my order, I wanted an extra ingredient in my drink—just some cinnamon on top—which was available, but the staff outright refused to serve it. This was frustrating, as it’s such a small request. Most coffee chains like Starbucks, Pret, and Nero make these extras readily available for customers to add to their drinks. For Costa to not only not offer this as a self-serve option but also refuse to provide it upon request is baffling. Overall, this visit was a letdown. Poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, and refusal to accommodate basic requests are things that should be addressed immediately.

Didn’t follow my dietary restrictions. I am pregnant and mentioned I can only eat fully cooked food when I placed order. They still served me salad(which I mentioned no salad after they said they have no replacement) and raw fish inside two sushi rolls. The server just apologise saying he didn’t know what would be inside the sushi rolls because they are chef’s specials and even suggested me to pick out the raw fish and eat the rest; plus reminded me that I should have mentioned “no raw fish” when I place order. How would I know there would be raw fish inside your chef’s special when you are the server who didn’t even know as you said! Tempura bento normally comes with a bowl of rice and they didn’t provide. The bill was £18.9 which was not worth it in that sense.

Enjoyed a lovely small chicken shish. Ample portion size for a small at £12.50 good value for money. salad was fresh and finely chopped, a very pleasant man behind the counter. Chilli sauce one of the best I’ve had in a while. Solid kebab house.
