Costa Coffee in Merton

Worst service. Slow and not well trained. Give them a try but it’s the same as other Costa. How can they compete with other coffee chain?

I recently visited the Costa located in Next and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed moody and unapproachable, which set a negative tone for the visit. I’m not sure why they were like this, but it certainly wasn’t welcoming. The cake selection was disappointing—limited and of poor quality. The slice I tried was dry and far from fresh, which is unacceptable given the £4 price tag. If you’re charging premium prices for a small portion, the least you can do is ensure the product is fresh and enjoyable. Additionally, the cleanliness of the seating area was lacking. Tables were wet and had leftover food bits on them, making it an unpleasant place to sit and enjoy a drink. As for my order, I wanted an extra ingredient in my drink—just some cinnamon on top—which was available, but the staff outright refused to serve it. This was frustrating, as it’s such a small request. Most coffee chains like Starbucks, Pret, and Nero make these extras readily available for customers to add to their drinks. For Costa to not only not offer this as a self-serve option but also refuse to provide it upon request is baffling. Overall, this visit was a letdown. Poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, and refusal to accommodate basic requests are things that should be addressed immediately.

all good just the filling on the tuna melt is pretty sparce, mostly bread and needs more tuna and cheese.

My experience at this costa was very relaxing, is spacious and the drinks are made professionally. The views in the second floor is regular as you see the car park but I have space and time to do some work in this Costa shop.

Usual quality Costa food and drink served by friendly staff with the Costa outlet wholly within the NEXT store on the first floor. However, expect a long wait when a few customers arrive simultaneously since staff members take their time and appear in no rush to speed the queue up.

there's no option to add cream to my drink on the menu and my request for it in the notes was ignored which was disappointing.

My hot chocolate was cold and my hot sandwich was also cold. Alittle bit disappointed never been an hour late before.

After accepting an order before close and then closing the store without sending our drinks the first time we tried to use this branch, we decided to give them another try. The "hot" chocolate and coffee arrived over an hour late and tepid. Will never be using this branch again.

I ordered a medium iced latte. The ice cup has been changed to one without a logo, but the size is said to be 16oz, but it seems to be smaller. I always feel it every time I go, but the place is large, but the number of staff is not many, I saw many empty cups on empty tables here and there. Coffee was fine.

Called in for a takeaway latte. Service was good. Coffee was made quickly and tasted really good.

Staff happy to stand and chat, leaving the tables uncleared. Honestly every other table had plates and cups and assorted rubbish on them. Shame on you Costa.

Costa cafe within the next store on the first floor. It’s spacious and offers nice view over the car park. The rest is just classic costa fare.

The waiters were not very attentive, food should include gluten free and vegan.

Great food, can recommend the mushroom breakfast.

Poor selection of cakes no toasties few bottles of cold drinks ice machine broken apparently. No napkins coffee not very good not up to the usual standard but then again this seems to be the norm in a lot of costas such a shame!

Ordered a caramel quartardo instead of following spec using caramel peaces used syrup when questioned the girl shrugged not sure if she heard or didn't care, and the food was over cooked and dry, defiantly won't use this branch again. Also only 2 staff on so tables not getting cleaned between uses was a let down especially for such a big company

Located inside a Sainsbury's store.was'nt very busy when visited but waited quite a while for the order,X2 small coffees,also the door to get and sit outside was difficult to open and is awkward when carrying hot drinks.

Good coffee, good variety of snacks. I'm not Vegan but there was a variety of suitable snacks available. Very large coffee cups, my wife enjoyed her golden millionaires shortbread but couldn't finish her medium skinny latte as so large. Nice to sit and relax without being chased to have extra orders.

I love to come here for a quite cup of coffee and sometimes breakfast, nice to have free parking while u having ur quite time but sometimes this place is very busy.

Classic Costa coffee. Very busy during weekends so can be very messy and dirty.

Relaxing atmosphere and plenty of parking. I like the coffee with coconut milk. A small oasis! Only complain is that they close too early!
