One of the staff members was so incredibly rude to me. After a really stressful day I went here to have a drink and accidentally ordered a cider twice. I was spoken down to and made to feel like an idiot. I even offered to pay for the second drink since I was made to feel so bad. This place was my local but I don’t think I will ever feel comfortable to come back. I understand being frustrated but it’s just not acceptable to speak to customers that way.
If i could rate 0 stars i would. I came with a friend on a Friday evening and at first it was a pleasant experience, until the waitresses started to make us feel uncomfortable and make huge hints for us to leave. We had just finished with our drinks and we kept getting asked if we wanted the bill… we said no as we wanted to stay longer and the shop didn’t close until 10pm (is was 9:15 at this point). The waitress still came back seconds later with a card machine. We said we just said we are okay and she left and then came back AGAIN seconds later. She said this time, we HAD to pay anyways. We were so confused as we hadn’t even received a receipt or anything stating how much we are even paying. We felt so uncomfortable so we payed there and then and then left. But the whole experience was horrible. I still haven’t received my receipt (had to ask them again before we left for it and they said they’d send it via email). It felt racially coded and was very upsetting. We just wanted a lovely evening out. Definitely not recommending this place to anyone.
We visited over the weekend with the family and the waitress Bell was very rude, I asked three times to place an order and the food was great but by the time she delivered it was cold. Last time we visited it was fantastic so it shows how much a poor waitress can ruin the experience
La comida era extremadamente promedio, he tenido mejores comidas caseras - cocinadas.
My partner and I went for lunch, the waitress was pleasant enough and the lunch was ok but within hours being home the problems started and have not gone away - food poisoning,. actually my partner has it worse than me and is very poorly.
This place not only treats its employees badly but treats them like slaves. The "owners" of this restaurant do not give you schedules. They also call you at 3 to tell you that "you have to work at 5 on your day off." I signed a paper and the owner lost it (she told me). When I asked for my contract, she told me that she didn't have one and that is illegal. later she told me that she had but she never wanted to send me a copy of my contract to my email. When 4 days had passed and they hadn't paid me, I asked them and their answer was "welcome to 2020" and then they told me that I was the rude one, because I wrote "are you gonna pay me?" . I repeat it is money that I worked, I did not ask that they give me anything. She blcked me and I had to call many times to she awake a answer to me.They also fired me because the restaurant closed because London made another Lockdown, something that is illegal. In short, I would think twice about working for this type of person, because I know that I am not the only one who has had problems. They should learn how to treat people well and the owners should not yell at each other in front of the employees, it is a very bad image.think twice about working here please.
Parissi is my favourite spot in Brixton. No it's not the cheapest but *everything* is home made and top quality. The cakes and pastries, the lunchtime frittata and the salads are all amazing. Spiros the owner is always there, he works hard and he really cares even if he's not always the friendliest! The staff are lovely and it's just the best place to catch up with friends or linger with coffee and a book. It's cosy inside, with more tables out back in the hidden garden. A really special place.

Came here yesterday with a few friends for Wing Wednesday and I can honestly say they were the worst wings any of us had ever had.
The meat is average quality, but they put SO MUCH breading on the wings, the amount of crunch is actually painful.
That's before we get to the buffalo sauce. Apparently it's 'World Famous', but honestly, the only thing I can think it's famous for is the INSANELY high salt content!
You know that tingling feeling you get when you eat something spicy? I thought my tongue was tingling for that reason, but no, it soon became apparent that it was from the amount of salt they put in this 'World Famous' Buffalo Sauce.
Then there is the speed at which they serve them. They take forever to bring out the next plate of wings because they clearly know that the longer you're eating, the more full you will get, so the less wings you will eat.
The only redeeming features of this trip were the atmosphere and the friendly staff. If not for these, it would be a solid 1* review.
Just don't do the Buffalo Wings!
The Platform Cafe is pretty sneaky, the prices have been high since the beginning, with expensive items like kombucha and sandwiches that are small and overpriced. It's in the Loughborough Junction area where many cannot afford such prices. But the sneaky bit is that the cafe have a "pay-forward" scheme where customers can buy a lunch for someone else later to take for free who can't afford it. The problem is, the cafe keeps taking the money, but no-one in the community knows about it that they can get a free meal if they can't afford food. Not impressed with just accumulating money and not inform the community, many who are on benefits, many beggars in the area and so on. Too expensive with often non-fresh food produced.
Got the truffle cheeseburger here Friday lunch. That bad boy banged. Had a nice chat while they prepped fresh in 5mins. Truffle gooey-good and nice pickle crunch. Good stuff, boys'n'girls!
We ordered a couple of cheese burgers and a single fries via Deliveroo
Arrived on time and fairly warm
The burgers were wrapped in foil to keep hot but the bun had congealed into the cheese which was suboptimal
Nice fries
