Wahaca Brixton in Lambeth

We visited over the weekend with the family and the waitress Bell was very rude, I asked three times to place an order and the food was great but by the time she delivered it was cold. Last time we visited it was fantastic so it shows how much a poor waitress can ruin the experience

Went to O2 Academy stopped here for eats Fabulous service Great food for the money well presented and so tasty literally a taste adventure Who knew deep fried cauliflower could taste so good ? Can’t wait to revisit

Fue una celebración tardía para el cumpleaños de mi hermana y fuimos a ver un acto en la academia, fuimos a Wahaca para comenzar y no podríamos haber pedido un mejor comienzo para la noche, buena comida y cócteles fantásticos, y el tequila estaba delicioso.

I visited Wahaca in Brixton with a friend. The service person made us feel really welcome.Food was amazing but slightly cold in which we were offered a new plate even though we had just wanted them to microwave it which was a bonus.The main meals are kind of expensive but the street food is more reasonably priced and filling.Will go again for sure

I booked a table of 10 for my birthday at Wahaca and had a wonderful time there (as always), the staff are so nice and friendly and the food is literally delicious. Thanks for the amazing service, you'll definitely be seeing me again soon!! would definitely recommend!

We ordered burritos and enchiladas with chicken meat from the restaurant on a Saturday evening. My wife found a piece of 1 inch steel in her enchiladas. The object seems from a metal brush. Manager was called in and she said that there is nothing found from the kitchen. My wife's meal is on the house. A horrified experience!

This was our first time to Wahaca, having been meaning to go for a few years. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was efficient and our waiter was very friendly. The restaurant decor was urban and cool. Had a lovely meal out with my husband and friends. Can’t wait to go again.

The pulled pork tacos were so good, had to order a second round!! Waiter Javi was lovely - would definitely return.

Visitamos aquí en un ajetreado sábado por la noche. Al llegar nos vieron de inmediato y nos avisaron que sería una espera de 10 a 15 minutos. Confirmamos que estábamos contentos con esto, esperamos en el bar y nos sentamos en 10 minutos.

Tequila cocktails were spectacular and the plantain tacos delicious. Only ruined it with the feta cheese (I’m vegan and did advise no cheese) the guacamole was lush

This is a bit of a long review, but it’s an honest opinion of our experience.

We had a wonderful time and ate great food here. I especially loved the sweet potato and feta taquito and the cactus and courgette taco. I've visited the Waterloo branch before but this was my first visit to the Brixton venue. Our waiter, (black guy, dreads) was the best!! 3 of the restaurant staff very kindly served our friend's birthday cake and sang with us. Will definitely return. My only criticism, add another cocktail containing Gin to your menu! Absolutely recommend Wahaca Brixton.

I went a few years ago and was rather disappointed but I returned now three times and it was always good, better than the "normal" restaurants. They serve more real Mexican food than Tex Mex, service is usually attentive and the place looks nice. Still prefer the small Mexican in the Brixton market...

Yo y 7 amigos fuimos a Wahaca Brixton para mi almuerzo de cumpleaños. Generalmente encuentro que el wahaca es rápido y generalmente un buen servicio. Esta vez esperamos mucho tiempo para ordenar, luego la comida tardó mucho en llegar y muy lejos para los pedidos de diferentes personas. Las bebidas llegaron después de la comida, así que estuvimos sentados sin comida ni bebida por un tiempo. Un par de errores de camarero al derramar bebidas sobre nosotros significaba que, en general, todos estábamos muy impresionados.

Food is delicious and the staff trully provide a 5* service, always smiling and attending your requirements.

Food is very good here and good value. The tacos and tostadas are great. The other small dishes were also very good. Wine is also very good value at £18 a bottle. Staff are very helpful.

Fui a Wahaca con 14 amigos el sábado. Acogido por un encantador camarero que explicó el menú, ya que puede parecer un poco confuso. El lugar era precioso, muy cómodo. Todo lo que todos ordenaron fue absolutamente delicioso. Lleno de sabor y mucha. Tanto el vino tinto como el blanco eran preciosos. A un precio muy razonable. Puede ser tan caro o tan barato como quieras. Sin duda volvería. Me encantó todo.

We attended here as randomly as the wind blows, and although as local professionals we felt that we could have had larger plates of food, this was a reflection on the wanting to eat more LOL.

Our first time here. Staff were so lovely and friendly. Left us alone to ponder the menu after giving us some advice.

We stumbled upon this restaurant. We ordered many small tex mex meals, and I must say this is the best Tex Mex food I`ve ever had. Everything tasted excellent and everyone was very satisfied. Plus for a cool location. I will definetly visit Wahaca next time I`m in London!

Had lovely time at Wahaca Brixton having a pre celebration birthday meal for my son with grandma, uncle, auntie and cousins! All were kept happy and well fed! And my son loved the happy birthday singing by staff and other diners! He felt very special! All in all a great evening!

Nearly 20 parents and kids descended on this child friendly munchery in the heart of Brixton. Yes it's a chain, but a mini chain that makes sure kids are kept busy playing with their own food before eating it.

My second time here and every bit as tasty and enjoyable as the first time. I just wish we had these restaurants in France where we live.

Happened upon this place by accident when needing to kill some time. A lively place with great atmosphere. My waiter, William, was incredibly friendly and quick to action. Food was spot on and I’ll definitely hop in here again when in Brixton.

Hip and cool place with good food. Servers is quite good, nice cocktails. They had a very nice vegan option. Everything from the menu looks appealing.

So the salad in an edible bowl was exactly that. A mix of salad leaves (Tesco bag?) in a taco bowl. They must have run out of the bean and corn salsa and the grains, we could only find a few. We have had this before in Wahaca and it wasn't like this. Very poor.

me and my friends were looking for a quick bite before heading over to the o2 academy. ive been to some wahacs before so i knew what to expect. this one in brixton was full of character, the restaurant was full for a thursday night but the server were always friendly and taking caren of us. we all had some mexican beers and plates of tacos. pork and chicken tacos was the favourite.

Coming from San Diego, living in London, hankered for birria or at least some tasty tortillas and pico de gallo like I grew up with. Tried Wahaca hoping, from the name, they might have huitlacoche. Nothing of the sort. Just bland knock-off stuff. Had some simple tacos. Meh. Salsa tasted like ketchup. Service was fine. Restaurant was clean. Food, in my experience, was British Mexican. I was hungry, then I ate there and wasn't. I didn't get sick = the best I can say.

Visited this place yesterday for lunch time and was immediately sat and seated quickly which was good with the bad weather. Ordered the food and didn’t take long to come with the great service and food was hot. Was surprised that you have to pay extra for guacamole and cheese when to be honest should be in the price like other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. I expected more from Tacos like some lettuce and tomato’s so this was very plain and didn’t match up with the price which was disappointing. Other then that good place to visit and try something new.

Cuando nos dieron una mesa pedimos el clásico menú que estaba delicioso. La persona que nos atendió fue muy amable y realmente aprecio que te pregunten si tienes alguna alergia antes de recibir un pedido de ti. El único inconveniente fue que tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para pagar nuestra factura a pesar de pedirlo. En cualquier otro día, no sería un problema, pero como íbamos a un concierto, ¡estábamos apurados!

Food and service are good, I ordered the Sonora salad that comes with with a tortilla bowl that is etable , tho I wasn’t expecting the tortilla to be fried ( it didn’t do good to the salad ) not healthy with a salad.

Food was great as always, it came really quick. Lovely atmosphere felt very cosy and our waiter was very friendly. One of the dishes was extremely spicy despite it not being stated on the menu.

Mi novia y yo visitamos hace unas semanas. Tuve la trucha al vapor con salsa de pomelo rosa. Eso fue increíble. Churros y helados de postre con tequila. Tienen una encantadora selección de bebidas. Incluyendo algunos ipas hechos en Londres. El personal era muy amable y el servicio era impecable. No recuerdo el nombre de nuestros camareros pero era de Cataluña. Viva Barcelona

We were a big table of 12 but made anything we could to make things easy and straight forward.

We had great lunch in this brunch, food was delicious and service was really nice. Louiza was really helpful and polite. Definitely we will be back here. Keep it up!

I have never been an advocate for online reviews of places I've eaten but I feel completely compelled to shout about the fantastic experience on Wednesday evening both myself and my friend had at Wahaca. The food and drink was delicious but the extra care that both the manager and staff took to ensure everyone was having a great experience was phenomenal! In my experience the staff are what truly caps off an experience and this guy and his team have it nailed! Thank you so much for the extra care you took with us and from what we saw EVERYONE! You guys are awesome!

Love Wahaca but my last visit was tops! The menu is interesting and a bit different from your run of the mill Tex Mex. the sharing menus are a great way to try a variety of items. We added the new Ceviche to ours and glad we did as it was excellent

I have visited this Wahaca a few times and each time I go it's relatively quiet, quick and easy to get seated. You are designated a server which I found great, fast and effective. Also very friendly, good food and at decent prices considering what London prices are becoming. I had the steak with green rice which I really enjoyed and my friend had the chicken mexican bowl was she said was really good. My only 'complaint' would be that the staff (or my server at least) seemed to be a little too pushy when trying to upsell items (although I do also work in hospitality and know this is probably incase of mystery diners). All in all a good experience and would definitely go back! Thank you !

Awful. I order form the vegan menu it has been servered to me as a vegan dish. After I ate the dish I felt sick and realise was meat it my dish.

We come here to eat regularly, it’s our go to choice in Brixton. We just love the flavours, variety and atmosphere. Perfect for a lunchtime visit. We eat food that we don’t normally get to try so for us it’s novel and exploratory.

Went there for my birthday meal, service was very good. The food was nice but mains portions are small. Guacamole was very tasty. Shame it closes so early last food and drink orders at 10.50.

I used to love wahaca but the past few times I've been the food has been tasteless and uninspired. This most recent visit is probably my last. Really slow service from overworked staff and Mexican food on par flavour wise with Taco Bell. What was a great chain a few years ago is now commercial crap.

Awful as soon as we sat. Waitied ages for the waitress to take our order. Didn’t listen, I’m sure she just wanted to finish her shift. A side we ordered came as a starter couldn’t get her attention (or anyone’s!) to get a drink so went to the bar. There were only three other small tables and two wait staff on. The mains were shocking! They’re we’re dumped on the table (quite literally) before the waitress ran off. Me and my partner nearly choked on rubbery steak on the taco sharing platter and couldn’t understand a pot of cheese without any heat source to keep it warm and melted so it solidified within minutes! Manager tried to push free desserts on us after we complained, after declining several times he took the food off the menu and left our drinks on oblivious that the last two drinks we had ordered were foul tasting so we didn’t touch them after one sip and still had to pay for them!!! Awful service, poorly prepared food won’t be recommending this particular Wahaca to anyone!!!!!

Speedy, friendly service and I love the payment app. Empanadas were first class. But the main event, the enchiladas, were dry, lukewarm and insubstantial for a growing boy!

Hacía muchísimo frío dentro que era incómodo y cuando pregunté a doble aire acondicionado por lo hicieron. El servicio era lento y un montón de errores de hecho. Último cóctel nos dejó con malestar estomacal. La comida no era de la calidad habitual.

consigliato da amici che attualmente vivono a brixton ci siamo recati per cena. locale abbastanza nascosto vicino a brixton market, non sapevamo bene cosa aspettarci. ci siamo seduti a un tavolino vicino alla finestra, il menù fa da tovaglietta di carta sul tavolo. abbiamo messo un po a capire il menù visto che nessuno di noi parla perfettamente inglese ma il nostro cameriere ci ha consigliato qualche piatto. abbiamo ordinato una specie di piadina ripiena con avocado e pollo e una salsa leggermente piccante,un altra piadina con formaggio sciolto e fagioli neri, patate dolci fritte e un insalata mista di farro( molto oiginale perche questa insalata viene servita in una "scodella" fatta di tortilla commestibile. tutto buonissimo!! l unica mancanza è stata che quando abbiamo chiesto il conto 2 volte il nostro cameriere penso si sia dimenticato ed è sparito per circa 15 minuti con nessun altro a cui chiedere. a parte questo, tutto ottimo e straconsigliato!

Un fantástico lugar. . Un encantador y astmosphere. realmente acogedor. La comida fue absolutamente deliciosa y cocinado a la perfección. Nuestros favoritos el suero de pollo y el cerdo Pibil tacos.

Tan pronto como llegué me ataca por la decoración y cómo todo fue creado. Es un restaurante muy acogedor, tan pronto como entras parece como si estábamos cenando en casa. El ambiente era fantástico, el servicio era cálido y amable muy atento y rápido que era bueno ya que estábamos muertos!

La comida era excelente. Nuestro servidor de Sylvia fue muy bien informado sobre el menú, incluyendo ambos especiales que tuvimos. Como que 20 p de cada especial vendido va a la caridad!

Una mesa reservada para 18 de mis amigos y familia (incluyendo niños y adolescentes) para celebrar mi 21 cumpleaños. El ambiente era muy relajado, que es exactamente lo que quería. El personal no podría haber sido mejor o más complaciente. El servicio era muy rápida y aunque todos ordenados en diferentes ocasiones y probablemente confundido la cocina, la comida salió aproximadamente en el mismo tiempo! La comida era deliciosa, como siempre, todos disfrutamos de ellos mismos. Muy recomendable para una comida de cumpleaños y grandes grupos.

Went to Wahaca for drinks with friends and had a blast! There's a great Latin vibe, from the decor to the music, and the tequila-infused drinks were delicious. Additionally, our server Alberto was extremely attentive and kind. Would definitely come again!

Wahaca is still the best spot for having some fresh nice and quick mexican food in South London.

Llegamos a este restaurante mexicano de casualidad, ya que pasamos por el barrio de Brixton haciendo turismo. Creo que no pudimos elegir mejor, el trato del camarero Carlos muy atento en todo momento, la comida con precios muy asequibles y la comida deliciosa. Local muy agradable, comimos 5 personas en una mesa enorme y espaciosa. Sin duda si vuelvo repetiría en este restaurante.

We waited a small time to eat but were served delicious cocktails at the bar...once we sat we ate all the tasty street food snacks served by the lovely Mercedes! Eat here now!
