The best restaurants in Brompton Kensington and Chelsea London

For many years I used Greenfields where I received consistently outstanding courteous, friendly, and swift service. Now where are they? Food quality was always the highest and prices reasonable but creeping up forced upon them by rapacious landlord happy to cede their territory to the growing French / Belgian community. Was it not Bonaparte who referred to the English as a "nation of shopkeepers"? Is it not ironic, therefore, that where he could not win at Waterloo his descendants could in South Ken....

Much like a lot of cafes in the area it's filled with saudi's and khaleeji arabs. Too much fuss, not enough attention to detail. Save your money.

As a big fendi lover I felt I had to go to the fendi cafe located inside harrods. As it goes the que was not worth the wait. After around 40 minutes we got seated on the balcony of the cafe which was not decorated in fendi wall paper etc like pictured it was just a fendi print table and felt somewhat detached from the rest of the cafe. The tea and cakes where lovely but i think it’s more somewhere you’d pop into in the middle of shopping for a drink and chat but after the 40 minutes waiting to get in it sort of takes away from it!

We were staying in South Kensington for a Royal Albert Hall concert and unfortunately stumbled upon Pizza Roma—much to our regret. The experience was dreadful from strt to finish. We ordered a vegetarian and a mushroom and ham pizza, both regular-sized, along with two colas. To our shock, we were charged £30 for this. When the pizzas arrived, they were noticeably small. Upon questioning this, the manager/owner responded rudely, insinuating that we didn’t trust him. He reluctantly offered a refund of £8 to be put back on the card, but when I checked later, the refund hadn't been processed. As for the food, the pizzas were just okay. However, the ham on my wife’s pizza was dried out and didn't resemble ham at all. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and we won’t be returning.

Verbanella has been in Beauchamp Place ever since I can remember...and it holds its own against the more celebrated Italian restaurants within the vicinity...good food, well presented and pleasant service...go for a girlie lunch...

We had a lovely lunch. We enjoyed the restaurant decorations and atmosphere. I took the set menu, burger - soft drink - volcano cake. My son had the pasta and orange juice. The food was good, it was nothing special but it was fresh and hot. It was extremely busy ( as you can imagine October half term, on Friday, it was crazy busy.) Yes, we did have to wait for the table but not because the staff were not doing their job because families were sitting and chilling after finishing their order. Yes, we did have to wait for our food (how busy it was, it was expected and totally understandable) what I saw while we were waiting all the staff were running around and working super hard. Cleaning and setting up tables as soon as someone left. I think it was great prices too. We would definitely come back again if we visit the museum. Highly recommend the Volcano cake 🍰 it was delicious 🤤 The only negative I can say about the orange juice. It was not good at all.

I took my family here for lunch today (March 2024) and can’t believe the disgusting treatment we received from staff here. We bought lunch and all had food from the cafe except my 9 year old autistic son who has to have his own specially prepared food. The staff member (a middle aged woman with dark hair) came over to our table and asked us to leave because my son was eating a sandwich he had not purchased in the cafe. Considering we had spent £40 already on food and another £30 in the gift shop that day I was horrified we wet being asked to leave by this woman because my autistic son needed to eat. I’ve travelled with my family all over the world and never ever had an issue like this so didn’t expect it here. What a disgrace your staff are. We left the food we’d paid for and got up, walked out and will never return.

Warm and luxury, Very good service

This is our local Chinese , food is excellent and reasonably priced for the area . We often have a Singapore Laksa which is sufficient for two people .

Walking by you can tell this is the place to grab a beer and visit outside— always a crowd. Unfortunately for us, we wanted dinner and weren’t told to go to the counter and order food and then we got a surly waiter who didn’t care about giving good service. Our fish and chips and hamburger were good despite him!

Ordered pork chop rice and my wife ordered crispy pork rice for lunch today. My pork chops came in less than two minutes. It was deep fried and rock hard, three miserable curled up stale reheated meat. I rejected it. The woman was upset but allowed a change. So I went for the Malaysian curry chicken. This was also a disaster. The first bite into the chicken, I had to spit it out... this curry was not Malaysian curry but Indian spiced. A few fragments of chicken parts was boosted in volume with onions and carrots. I began to taste decayed chicken upon tasting a couple more pieces. I had to leave the rest. My wife suffered in silence, her crispy pork was rubbery, the skin was hard not crispy, probably resulting from microwave action. After paying £23.70 we left the unfinished meal. On our way home, we felt traumatised by this horrible experience. They should not be allowed to trade. Never again.

As long as you have an eternity to send here you should be golden. The service is there, but cannot really see it, food is a lot faster than expected considering it took 30mins to order and only 20mins to get the food. And if you forget to order something you might as well make peace with the fact you won’t get it. Staff is nice, but for some reason four floor staff and two in the kitchen Chen struggled to serve five tables with 20 people in total and quite a few people waiting to be seated had to leave.
