T. Rex Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

We had a lovely lunch. We enjoyed the restaurant decorations and atmosphere. I took the set menu, burger - soft drink - volcano cake. My son had the pasta and orange juice. The food was good, it was nothing special but it was fresh and hot. It was extremely busy ( as you can imagine October half term, on Friday, it was crazy busy.) Yes, we did have to wait for the table but not because the staff were not doing their job because families were sitting and chilling after finishing their order. Yes, we did have to wait for our food (how busy it was, it was expected and totally understandable) what I saw while we were waiting all the staff were running around and working super hard. Cleaning and setting up tables as soon as someone left. I think it was great prices too. We would definitely come back again if we visit the museum. Highly recommend the Volcano cake 🍰 it was delicious 🤤 The only negative I can say about the orange juice. It was not good at all.

Inside the Natural History Museum, so environment is pretty cool - T-Rex pictures surround the restaurant. Food is good - decent pizzas, kid friendly options, and burgers. Price is not bad for London - £68 for three kids and two adults' mains. Service, however, leaves a fair bit to be desired. Had to chase down a server to get menus, then again for cutlery. All drinks were delivered to a single person. The food the same. After dinner coffees were delivered and left atop the empty food dishes. Shame, as the rest is pretty good!

I don't know where to start 🤯... Sticky tables,most of the employees act like they don't give a flying fly about anything, no cutlery or napkins, dirty stained menu papers,overpriced for what they offer. They forgot to bring the cutlery and napkins although we asked two times,children's pizzas were burnt.We asked for another one and next one it wasn't cut. Food in general was below expectations, I have to say that we were really disappointed,this was the worst experience ever.I can't believe that this restaurant is actually functional and lives in the National History Museum in LONDON!!!!

I tried this restaurant today, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience on multiple levels. The encounter started with unprofessional service from the cashier, a woman who spoke in a rude and provoking manner. When I asked her about a specific dish, she replied dismissively, telling me, “You don’t understand,” instead of offering clear and polite assistance. As for the food, it was far below expectations. The pizza lacked flavor entirely, and the coffee tasted burnt. Even the Caesar salad was disappointing; it had no dressing and almost no taste. Lastly, we ordered the popcorn cheesecake, which came in a ridiculously small portion that didn’t match the price or expectations. Overall, this was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I don’t recommend it and see no reason to try it again.

I recently visited the T Rex Restaurant inside the museum and, unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the restaurant boasts a fun and engaging atmosphere, particularly with its dinosaur-themed decor that adds excitement to a museum visit, the quality of the food did not live up to expectations, especially considering the high prices. First, the restaurant was extremely busy, which may be expected given its location inside a popular museum. However, the long wait times for both seating and food service detracted from the overall experience. I understand that crowds are common in tourist destinations, but more efficient management or additional staff could have improved the experience. The food itself was disappointing. For the premium prices being charged, I expected much better quality. The dishes were average at best, lacking in flavor and creativity. Some of the meals felt rushed and not well-prepared, which was surprising given the reputation of the museum and the themed nature of the restaurant. If you're paying for the novelty and location, it would be reasonable to expect the food to match that standard. Overall, while the T Rex Restaurant is visually appealing and perfect for kids who love dinosaurs, the food quality and service do not justify the high prices. I would recommend eating elsewhere unless you're particularly set on the ambiance. Hopefully, with some adjustments, the restaurant can improve, as it has great potential due to its prime location and fun concept.

A restaurant solely geared towards profit not quality. Dry burger because it was bulked out with breadcrumbs, chicken sub bulked out with coleslaw and a sickly sweet sauce and the worst offender...the milkshake. £6 milkshake which is essentially just a glass of milk with no ice cream in it. When I raised this with the staff, they told me that's how it's supposed to be. If I wanted milk I'd have stopped off at Tesco and bought myself a four-pinter for £1.45.

Welcoming and helpful staff! But for the main course we ordered a chicken sandwich and the T Rex hamburger, the chicken main course was good but the hamburger meat was not great.. The dessert was the same, we had the chocolate cake, too many sauces and impressions of cheap cakes.. But above all, next to us the waiters seated a father with his 2 children... the little one threw up her entire meal... the establishment did nothing, neither for them nor for us who couldn't finish our meal... Very mixed unfortunately...

I came in with my 5 year old just for dessert, they had me waiting 45 mins for some ice cream and a cake when it was extremely quiet, until i finally got up and questioned it, to which I was told there was a mistake and he will get it for me asap. I then questioned the lady who took my order as to why the order was never done properly as I have been waiting for 45 Mins and my daughter at this point was getting upset waiting for 45mins. the lady was wearing a black shirt, dark hair, tattoos on her arm and around 5 foot 4. She was extremely rude denied ever serving me and asked where my receipt was she did not apologise at all and strut off as if she gods gift. Please send her for re-training as this behaviour is not acceptable especially when my 5 year old was present. I do have a recording of the interaction which I will send over to Trex as well as post on S.M

Restaurant with rude staff…We asked for a gluten-free burger and we were served a steak with a tomato instead (so they don't have gluten-free bread but just burgers without bread…but they offer burgers gluten free😂). The staff laugh among themselves when we complain and offer no concrete solution apart from a burger with, 2 slices of bread, a steak and a tomato (no sauce, no cheese, therefore a burger which is worthy of a 5 year old child). All this for €17 🥲.

I asked for a gluten-free burger (as offered on the menu) and they arrived with a plate consisting of a steak and 3 slices of tomatoes...?? Can we call this a burger? very disappointed even for the quality of service.

Decent meal but very fatty, lemonade not good at all to avoid. Very noisy place, between screaming children and electronic dinosaurs at the entrance making unbearable screams. In summary, a decent place to eat quickly for lunch but nothing more.

The gluten free option is literally the burger without the bun. Do you pay just as much for less food.

I cannot believe the score of the restaurant is so low! Yesterday we went with my two kids and my brother and had such a good time! We ordered three pizzas, the beetroot salad, fish fingers, fries and the T-Rex burger, all the food was delicious, te pizzas were very good quality and flavourful. The person at the till was very helpful even though I forgot my table number. The people that brought the food to the table were very helpful and with a big smile! I cannot recommend more this place! I also hope that the score of the restaurant (overall) goes up! Thank you everyone that served my family yesterday

I've never encountered more miserable servers and hosts during my time visiting London. The server wouldn't even hand us menus, instead saying, "get them yourself." The food was the only saving grace as it was good, but the prices were high and not worth the poor service. The drink sizes were also quite small.

Fun atmosphere and good food. A fuzz pricey but so is everything in Myrtle I guess. Favorite part is the animatronic dino that walks around and takes their time on each individual table to ensure every kid gets a chance to have a moment with it. Mark was our server and did an incredibly friendly job Overall I'd give it a 4/5. Really good experience but food wise nothing to rave about and many of the decorations/animatronics aren't working

We had lunch in this restaurant one afternoon while visiting the natural history museum. The goal was not to waste time getting out of the museum, especially since it was raining a lot. The prices are a little expensive but the quality is okay. You shouldn't expect haute cuisine but it serves the purpose of eating quickly while visiting the museum. The atmosphere is nice especially for children, the service was fast but the crowds were low.

The T-Rex Restaurant is located right in the center of the Natural History Museum. Since most of the natural history museum's customers are children and families, it is more important than the taste. I tend to choose good places to eat in a comfortable atmosphere. There are several cafes within the Natural History Museum, but the main restaurant that serves meals is the T-Rex Restaurant. The variety of pizza on the menu is better than I expected. The signature T-Rex burger does not live up to expectations. After being shown your seat, you memorize your seat number, tell it to the cash register, and when you order, the food is brought to you. Please take note of this for visitors.

Very nice place. Super friendly people. The atmosphere is excellent and the food is very delicious. We ordered pizza but everything we saw seemed of good quality

A very bad restaurant, they attract children with their name and interesting entrance within the museum. Food almost inedible, caesar salad the poorest ever, strange taste of chicken and potatoes In general, very expensive and bad.

£13 for a Caesar salad that is just lettuce with a few bits of cheese and croutons. That's excessive. Just a single piece of chicken would improve the situation. As it stands, it's way too expensive The food isn't bad. The kids pizza isn't bad at all. The entire kids menu is fair, to be honest. Drinks are small. Not a price issue. Just offer larger drinks, say a pint of coke, and charge more.

It's definitely not delicious. We got venison burgers and chicken sandwiches. It was dry, cold and tasteless. Since there were not many options in the museum, we had to choose and we regretted it.

As someone with celiac disease, dining out can be a bit nerve-wracking, but I always appreciate when restaurants take my dietary needs seriously. Unfortunately, my recent experience at T.Rex left much to be desired. Upon arrival, I made it clear to the waiter that I have celiac disease and need to avoid gluten. They assured me that another staff member would be assigned to handle my order. However, despite my efforts to communicate my allergies, when my burger arrived, it was served on a gluten-containing bun. The inconsistency and confusion in the restaurant's handling of my dietary needs were disheartening. It's crucial for all staff members to be properly trained in dealing with food allergies, as it not only impacts the safety of customers but also their overall dining experience. While they did replace my meal, the risk associated with such errors is just too high. Moreover, the failure to provide a gluten-free option as requested was disappointing. While I understand mistakes can happen, especially in busy kitchens, it's essential for restaurants to prioritize the accuracy of orders, particularly for customers with specific dietary requirements like myself. Overall, my experience at T.Rex fell short of expectations. I hope they take this feedback constructively and implement measures to improve their handling of food allergies in the future.

Great place with good food and quick service. Recommend it to anyone visiting museum and have a pitstop there to recharge their energy. Would definitely visit again when having a tour with friends who hasn’t been there yet.

Me and my friends was welcomed by a lovely guy wearing pride lanyard. He was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We was planning to eat out of the museum but the experience was so good I would come back to the museum just to eat there again. The staff were all nice and friendly and food was delicious. Would 100% recommend trying the trex burger.

Me and my friend went while on a trip and the service was good but they messed up our order 4 times and we had to get refunded as they charged us £19 when it was only a £8:50 meal

Whilst the food was OK, it's a little overpriced for what it is. I noticed others were served their food before us but we ordered before them.

Avoid it please, no hygiene, food worse than 5 min uni meal (tho sometimes bangs), bad environment by the workers, only good for the coffe which the barista was nice. Food isnt healthy for kids on the menu, it's not cooked up to standards or seasoned, plate was greasy as other things you can notice that hygiene ain't up there behind the counter or kitchen.

For 35 pounds and a 35-minute wait, especially when the restaurant wasn't even half full, the overall experience was disappointingly poor. The height of absurdity, however, was when I ordered a gluten-free burger and was served just potatoes, arugula, and the meat on a plate. As per the waiter's explanation, choosing gluten-free apparently means they simply remove all gluten-containing components without offering any replacements. This policy was not indicated anywhere, either beforehand or at the moment. While I understand it's a tourist location, such service is frankly inexcusable.

Nada destacable en cuanto a la comida, correcta. No hay servicio a mesa, se paga antes de comer en el mostrador y la comida se recoge. Se acerca más al concepto de un restaurante de comida rápida.

The food was soooo terrible 😞 bad surprise … prices too high, cutlery and glasses dirty. We had stomach problems after dining there. We took three pizzas - vegan, margarita and salami, all of them were terrible, the vegan one especially. It just tasted so weird, made of cheap ingredients… if I were a chef there I would be ashamed to give people that food. As a chef I could tell that the products used in that “kitchen” were mostly bought and low quality. Such a shame….

The food is very very bad! Bad taste, bad quality ( eg the burger and pulled pork burger felt like it was canned and old),the kids chicken nuggets, oily shoggy batter, microwaved. It is a place full of families and kids and you would have expected the natural history museum would have invested a bit more in the restaurant that hundreds of families and people visit. A disgrace and very very bad. Avoid avoid avoid. Only the service was ok as they were polite. Also 40 pounds for 2 adult and 1 kids dish!!! Super expensive. Ps the pizza looked ok though but didnt try it.

Despite being in the NHM, it wasn't overcrowded . The staff were helpful and friendly but not quite organised. Food was good and not overpriced for London. Good space for a childs meal or a coffee stop whilst looking around the museum

The burger tastes like a dinosaur fossil. The chicken nugget portion for kids amounts to 3 nuggets. That costs more than 3 pounds per nugget. My daughter dropped one the floor and was left with 2 nuggets. Also the nuggets were super hard. So she just ate 1.

Jedzenie smakuje okropnie. Szklanki, sztućce są brudne. Ceny jak w dobrych restauracjach na zewnątrz. Lepiej wyjść, zjeść i wrócić.

Food is affordable and adequate, although… The atmosphere is punctuated by children’s screams which allowing for the rooms acoustic’s, go through you like a bad Kebab. The gluten free option is just the normal menu stuff minus the glutenny contents. It was ok… just a little disappointing.

For the price we paid, the food was underwhelming. We paid £23 per adult and £9.50 per child. There was 6 of us. We got our mains fairly quickly but the plates were quite bare, no side of salad to be seen, the kids burgers were plain and bland and our burgers barely had anything on. We then waited over an hour for ice cream that we hounded for only for the waiting staff to say the kitchen staff forgot. Compensation was offered but all they offered was a hot drink... by the time we had eaten the museum was closing so had to book for another day. I won't be eating there again. Can u just add, we waited that long and the place was pretty much empty.

In short, avoid if you can! The beef Burger was a beef patty in a bun without any sauce or vegg! The T-rex burger was also very underwhelming for a 14 pound burger! The chicken nuggets were bland, without flavour! Chips were full of black bits & a lot of small hard pieces. The ice cream never came & had to show, that I have paid for it to get it! So the staff is okay when prodded, due to being under staffed!

박물관 카페의 무난한 음식입니다. 오더한지 한시간 만에 음식을 받았습니다. 맨처음엔 옆테이블로 갔고, 곧 다시 만들어준다 해서 계속 기다리다가 채근하니까 그제서야 나오네요. 손님들이 많은 상황도 아니었습니다. 서버들은 친절했지만 개선이 필요합니다. 참 나이프&포크도 두번이나 갖다달라 말해서 받았습니다.

It's a restaurant named 'T Rex' and has a couple animatronic dinosaurs in the entrance hall, so setting expectations appropriately, it has rather good food and is quite clean. If you have kids 5+ and you are relaxed about them eating a little junk food sometimes then this is a good place. It's not cheap but considering the area it's very fairly priced. The poor staff are swamped, thankfully I've never seen the place more than 1/3 full. They put on an amazingly friendly face considering how crazy it must be during lunch. The kids menu is a bit... 1990s - pizza, burgers, and chicken nuggets. I do wish they would have a couple healthier options for kids - there is an adult grilled chicken that would be perfect if offered as a smaller portion. A pan fried or grilled fish or some more kid friendly side dishes (e.g. one vegetable option that isn't fried or with chilli) would be wonderful.

Staff are incompetent. It took 3 requests to get water. 1st time they forgot second time they bring two glasses of ice no water third time the fool tries handing me a half empty dirty water jug from someone else's table. Avoid this place at all cost. Food is ok very average.

Yikes. Don't bother, there's other actual good places. You could probably get something better prepared at the Tesco Express a bit ways away. The food was bland and tasted of something I could get at a school cafeteria. I don't really write harsh reviews, but the best part about this experience was the 4 second interaction with the nice waiter. Not to mention the price, (£47) which was utterly mind-blowing for such bad food.

We went there because we didn't really had any other options, I was thinking it would be the most disgusting food i would ever eat, but i was surprised , the pizza was actually ok, not great of course but not the worst I ever had. So if you have no other choice and you want to spend your day in the museum, it's a not so bad option.

Very disappointed to see that your cafe only offered 1 thing that was Gluten free. My partner is a coeliac and the only thing on offer was a brownie, even then this brownie was out amount all the other cakes, I was particularly concerned that someone may pick up a tong from the normal cakes to use on the brownie tray ! Come on your a big tourist attraction it would be really good to see more items available for Gluten free customers

Es lógico pensar que en el restaurante de un museo no fueras a encontrar precios baratos y/o productos de calidad, pero aquí se pasan. La hamburguesa de pollo es básicamente una pechuga entre dos panes, tan seca que parece que la han sacado de la sala de dinosaurios.

Abbiamo pranzo in questo ristorante prima di iniziare la visita del Museo. Cibo nella norma, io ho preso un hamburger, senza infamia e senza lode. Sono attrezzati con menu per bambini, e in generale l'ambiente è invitante proprio per questi ultimi!

The restaurant is quite a big sitting place with drinks being served. Open kitchen concept. Pizzas were good. Veg burger was average.

Decent place to eat, tastes good but i found many bones in my mackeral. Also as the fish was mixed into my salad so I couldn't spot them at first and it poked my mouth. Bring a pen as the kids menu has activities requiring writing & no pens provided. No kids cutlery too. there's bottled water but no glasses. Wait staff are quick,polite & pleasant but clearly overwhelmed. They need more people on the ground.

I'm here at the restaurant and like any other people I make sure I get a table before I place the order. I was at the table 308 with my husband and one of their rude employees told us to leave the table so she could clean it. This type of service is new to me. Any other pub or restaurant cleans the table while you are there. Basically she forced us to leave the table and then another couple sat there with no order placed. There should be more undercoverd bosses in London to check their employees. People that don't do their job well should be sacked.

The food was surprisingly better than what I expected from a fast food at tourist attraction. The pizza was more than enough for one person. The burger was fine. The only downside of this place is hygiene. The furniture is stained, the floors are littered, the accessories on the tables don’t convey the feeling of cleanness. It’s probably related to crowds of kids passing through this place - but still I believe they can do better. One more thing- the place is very accessible for people with movement disabilities and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Liked the sitting area and the hall. Convenient place in the restaurant. Service was good but a bit slow. Staff was totally honest and tells you upfront how long your orde will take.

Won't recommend the place BBQ chicken burger was horrible and had raw chicken. No way near to be called burger. If super hungry and no option then I would suggest to go for pizza margherita or vegan.

Lovely staff, terrible food. My (quite tiny) BBQ Chicken Burger came without onion rings and with barely cooked bacon. The gorgonzola pizza had no gorgonzola. Not to mention the dry, tasteless chocolate volcano cake. And the prices aren't that cheap. Avoid it if you can, it's fairly disappointing...
