Extremely immersive! Sold as a real private detective agency, the bar offers excellent original cocktails. Subdued atmosphere and very dynamic and pleasant instrumental concert... Brilliant! A must do.

an interesting experience, the drinks are nice and waiters are attentive as well! however a live band performance charge of 20 pounds came out of the blue without any prior notice. we would've expected some heads up, or at least something along those lines.

This place is epic! The drinks are SO good! I was so surprised when I ordered the black box drink and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Really good! I love that the whole theme of the place is so well incorporated everywhere, including in the reception. The country band was definitely something else I'm coming back for!

The private detective bar is so fun 😍 Before entering, a detective will chat with you to confirm the details of your case. Basically, the content is absurd but the interaction is very funny. The scene is well arranged. There is a secret bar after entering. The atmosphere and wine list are also very detailed related to the detective case. The wine itself is mediocre, but the experience is great and worth visiting!

Unfortunately an inconvenient experience. Paid 110 quid for 4 cocktails and two beers. Bad entertainment, random charges for lousy live music without prior notice, tremendously overpriced drinks. Expected more.

Such a fun location with delicious drinks! You meet with a 'detective' and discuss the crime you wish hiring them to help with before being escorted through the bookshelf to a speakeasy.

Very special speak easy bar with a prohibition era atmosphere - and live jazz on Thur-Fri-Sat! Just entering the place was an experience! The discreet door, the agent receiving you, etc. Staff is great and cocktails too, would definitely recommend !

I loved the whole experience there. Cocktails were amazing, the service was very good. I love how knowledgeable everyone is, from the bartenders to the waiters, and determined to find the cocktail that you will absolutely love. The detective agency role play at the beginning is very clever and sets the right mood. An amazing experience overall!

I enjoy my time here went with my partner for a his surprise birthday. The detective is very spot on and set up the atmosphere for the cocktail bar. The drinks aren’t too expensive and taste wonderful. I enjoyed the live music and the setting of the bar. The waitress and waiter are very attentive. La experiencia de entrada fue bastante única y no voy a estropearla aquí, pero mi amigo no tenía idea de lo que estaba sucediendo, lo que lo hizo bastante entretenido! Como no teníamos reserva nos sentamos inicialmente en el bar (separado de la sala principal y no muy cómodo) , pero al poco tiempo se abrió una mesa y nos movieron. La decoración es auténtica de 1920 y esto solo fue realzado por la banda en vivo que estaba tocando durante la primera mitad de nuestra visita. Gran vibra y una multitud interesante también. Tienen una gran variedad de cócteles y es bastante confuso revisar el menú en su entorno muy oscuro. Dicho esto, las bebidas que probamos eran bastante decentes. Su anticuado vale la pena intentarlo principalmente debido a la preparación de la mesa. En general, una experiencia muy agradable y no puedo creer que solo estoy de visita ahora después de haber vivido cerca todos estos años. Definitivamente esperamos traer más huéspedes desprevenidos en el futuro!

I visited with a friend on a Friday evening. The entry experience was rather unique and I won’t spoil it here, but my friend had no idea what was happening which made it quite entertaining! As we didn’t have a reservation we were initially seated at the bar (separate to the main room and not very comfortable), but after a short while a table opened up and we were moved over. The decor is authentic 1920’s and this was only enhanced by the live band that was playing during the first half of our visit. Great vibes and an interesting crowd as well. They have a huge range of cocktails on offer and it is quite confusing going through the menu in their very dark setting. That said the drinks we tried were pretty decent. Their old fashioned is worth a try mainly due to the table side preparation. Overall a very nice experience and I can’t believe I’m only visiting now after having lived nearby all these years. Definitely look forward to bringing around more unsuspecting guests in future!

From the moment we arrived, the fun began. It felt like we had stepped back into the 1920s, with the Prohibition theme adding a sense of mystery and excitement. The "secret" introduction before entering the bar was a brilliant touch—we were already laughing before we even got inside! Once in, we were greeted by a fantastic atmosphere. The live music was the perfect backdrop, setting the mood without being overpowering. We drank, and soaked up every bit of the vintage charm. The cocktails were on point, delicious and crafted with care, and the radiator beer was as good as you could expect! But what really made the evening stand out was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and always on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. They genuinely added to the experience and made the birthday celebration feel extra special. Overall, we had an amazing evening, and I can't recommend Evans & Peel enough.

Nice Little Hidden Away Speak Easy Cocktail Bar. Didn't Try The Food But Drinks Are Top Notch

We went without a booking and they fit us in on a strangely quiet Saturday evening. The role play greeting is excellent and really sets the mood. The drinks were very decent and the setting, decor, piano playing and bar men are all on point. Had a real nice time and we tried a couple of cocktails each. Would recommend one except they’re all decent if we’re being honest.

This is an American style speak-easy hidden away on an unsuspecting street. I loved the novelty and decor. There is an extremely charismatic actor front of house who pretends to be a detective and jokingly interrogated us before letting us in - it's a good idea to think of a story before you go to spare yourself some embarrassment! The only downside is that it's a bit overpriced and truthfully I didn't really like the cocktails on offer but overall it's a cool experience and it's a bit of fun so I would recommend.

Fantastic themed cocktail bar! I came here about a year ago while on vacation with family and was treated to the best service and cocktails I've ever had. However, the real show of service was recently when I contacted the establishment and asked for the details of a drink I was served. Their response was quick, thoughtful, and exactly what I needed! If you do choose to come here, do know that the experience is greatly enhanced if you arrive with a "case." I was unaware of this when I came here, but the greeter did an amazing job at working around our lack of preparedness. This speakeasy is a must!

I got to admit we struggled a lot while walking through London. A good "coffee" was nowhere to be found. Luckily, there is Detective Mitch and the agency to help you with all of your needs. It is an amazing place, hidden behind a false door. Mitch was amazing first contact and let you feel the 1929 Prohibition vibe they are going for. If you are a cocktail newbie such as me I'd recommend asking the bar staff they are very helpful in regards to zeroing in towards something you'll like. Next time I'll be in London, I'll certainly be back.

This is the utmost experience in London! It has became my favorite bar of all times!! Everything was absolutely amazing from beginning to end! And Mitch was definitely a marvelous host! My expectations were exceeded by far. :)

I have been to this place 3 times before and have absolutely loved my experience but today it was not the same. For starters they no longer do the Polaroid photo with one of their drinks ( I still have the photo they took), they also no longer served the cool personalised placemats for the cocktails which is sad (I have a collection of the placemats cuz they are so cool). On top of that they did not advertise at all that there would charge £12 per person for the live music (great live music just was not prepared for the expensive charge). I bought two drinks (£14 each) and my total cost was £38 and half of their menu was out. You are getting less for higher cost and I hope you guys can make some changes cuz I can’t see myself coming again.

Earlier in the day, we booked an early reservation for 19:30. From the second we stepped inside, it was a blast. The drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was incredible. We're so glad we adventured out to Evans & Peel Detective Agency

This place is awesome. Step into a role playing cocktail drinking experience. Went the last night I was in London this trip and wished I had went sooner. 1920s vibe with cocktails named after mobsters. Had the old fashioned and another speciality gin drink. Both were amazing. Do yourself a favor and go for at least a drink or two.

Super fun speakeasy that is an entire experience. The actors are on point, and the vibe underground with the craft cocktails, live music, and eclectic antiques is just perfection. Definitely go for their signature old fashioned made table side. Make a reservation, and don’t ask the dry cleaners where the entrance is.

I love Evans and peel detective agency. Such a fun vibe with great cocktails and good food. I do recommend booking a later slot so you can see the band play - they absolutely slapped but we were leaving as they began! Great atmosphere and an experience I have never forgotten. This is a not to be missed, super fun excursion. It's a little hard to find, but make the effort. I won't review the exact process to keep it a fun surprise but be ready to report your crime and step back into 1929 prohibition. Much plays his part so well and the place is awesome. The drink menu is fabulous. We had a lucky Luciano, Whitey Bulger and an Al Capone. The experience is totally with it!

Went here with my partner for drinks. Was absolutely amazing! The bartenders were extremely knowledgeable, and made classic cocktails on request as well as what was on the menu! Our host Mitch was amazing, we had a great time chatting with him and the bartenders! Definitely made a lifelong memory going to Evan and Peel! Mitch even took us out and showed us to the nearest halal restaurant, which i’m sure made londons first Halal snack pack!

We had a great time. The cocktails were amazing and the staff is incredible. One of our drinks was delivered in a suitcase, loved the presentation. The staff is absolutely incredible, we had several interesting conversations. If you're on the fence, don't be, this was such a fun experience.

Don’t get me wrong, very cool vibe with nice interior, entrance and nice host. But charged us all £6 each live music without even asking us / it being on the menu, with service on top? Egregious.

You just have to go. It would spoil it to describe it. If film noir is a thing you like, go and hit the buzzer. Take it from there, but play along. You will not be disappointed

What can I say, other than the coolest Bar in London. Unique friendly and the cocktails and food are nothing less than tasty and awesome. The staff are funny friendly and a big shout out to Mitch for making our visit even funnier. If you’re looking for a place to have a good laugh on arrival and some lovely Cocktails look no further.

I cannot recommend this place more. I love a good speak easy, but i find that so few really embrace the theme. Evans and Peel really does it to 100 with everything there. The food was excellent, all the servers were very nice and engaging and they had some of the best cocktails I've ever had.

Evans & Peel was a wonderful experience for us in London. I made the surprise to my husband who had no idea where we were going. When he saw the door, he was really surprised. When I made the reservation, I gave some informations describing the things that my husband likes very much and describes him a little bit and that was a great idea, because the surprise was very big. We have been very good welcomed and my husband has been very surprised because he has been welcomed with a lots of words very well choosed to make the surprise very big. I will not give details, it's better if you live this experience on your own. We had also nice surprises with the cocktails. We don't drink alcohol and they made us wonderful non alcoholic cocktails and the mini pizzas that we eated with olives and salted nuts were excellent. We have to be honest, it's expensive, but it's a wonderful experience, you absolutely must have. Thanks to all the team. This was a great experience and we had the pleasure of meeting some very nice people. The role of detective doesn't seem to be just a role, but a real passion, with everything you need. Immersive atmosphere, flavourful cocktails, and mostly hospitable staff. Of course, it doesn't come cheap - from my experience, £72 for 4 drinks. Furthermore, tables have a limit on how long they can be booked for, and this place is busy, so please plan ahead.

Well difficult to find is the first thing I can say...I was about to give up when some guy from a restaurant said are you looking for the bar. We said yes and he showed us the way.. I mean how helpful was he! He did say no one can find it. Anyway we arrived just as the live music finished which was a pity, however the staff was friendly and the service was good. Once you have been and you are local I'm sure you will return. I appreciate it was a speak easy vibe..

Brilliant couple of hours spent here. The welcome was hilarious, had us giggling for ages, great entrance into the bar also. Cocktails were lovely, excellent service and the live music was just perfect for the surroundings. Great atmosphere.

What a fantastic place. It is a little difficult to find, but that added to the experience. If you follow Google maps, it leads you to a street end in between b buildings. No problem, the door is on the side of the building (we went by it twice). We rang the bell and were admitted by one of the staff that asked about what case we were investigating. Super fun role playing for a minute. After you are "vetted", he shows you to the bar. We were only going to have 1 drink but was having so much fun with the staff, we stayed for 2. We talked about prohibition and whisky and bourbon. We live in Tennessee, so this was right up our alley. It was fantastic to talk to staff that really know bourbon and whisky. If you have always wanted to try Pappy, they have it at the best prices I have ever seen.

Best old fashioned ever. The live music was AMAZING, piano and muted trumpet. Everything together really gives that prohibition feel. A great surprise.

Hard to find. Strange vibe from the welcome compared to similar places. Staff pleasant but pushy trying to get you to buy more drinks. Only bit of “ entertainment” was “Al Capone” wandering around. Not much atmosphere Cocktails average in content and price but the menu was clever. £4 for a very small bowl or either chilli crackers or salted corn was poor value as was £7 for a CAN of beer like you would get 4 for £5 in a supermarket.

What a fun and unusual place. The prohibition theme is carried out with care, and it’s quite a hoot! Had the “best old fashioned” drink, and it was! Definitely worth the stop, and be patient when trying to gain access. They will answer the door.

Hospitality at the World Snooker Championships is excellent. Champagne on arrival, a four course meal with accompanying drinks and great service from Sara was a special start to our visit. The venue, so often seen on TV was smaller than expected but provides an intimate setting for the professional players to do battle. It is a perfect setting and would lose this intimacy should it move to a larger venue.

The day the Thames ran red on the St. Valentines Massacre. You see that low life Bugs Moran was wal..... I've said too much already. Are you prepared for a lifetime experience? Are you ready to see acting that upsets Broadway? The drinks are worthy of the finest Rum Runners. The gentleman that runs it will make you a part of this thing of ours. Anyways... stop reading this and book a sit-down.

Gimmicks were good...It was a proper speakeasy experience... hospitality was great. But drinks were not..we tried 3 drinks and all of them were on the sour side...Their famous old fashion was ok as well nothing overly impressive..I was expecting good complex mixology but expectations were not met . So I would suggest going if you like gimmicks but not for drinks

It is a great concept of bar, very unique and fun but in my opinion is only to go once for the experience. Adding up the cost of cocktails, the music charge per person and the service charge you will be left with a hefty pricetag at the end! I understad you pay for the whole concept, hence Is a bar you wouldn't go often.

Quite underwhelming. As we arrived to the Detective Office that is the front for the speakeasy a host greated us, who was clearly doing a bit, but we weren't sure what our role was supposed to be in this scenario. Then we were led through to the bar itself, which was a half-heartedly themed, dark, damp basement. The Beer Radiator was broken and they were missing the "hardware" for one of the more interactive mystery cocktails. The drinks themselves were nice, but wildly overpriced.

Small bar. It was OK, nothing special. They seemed pretty up themselves baring in mind they don't offer anything special. Pretty pricey but it is London.

Great speakeasy! It was really fun getting in and the staff was so friendly!

I have been wanting to come here for years, and we finally got back to London and visited this speakeasy. Right from the start, the mood was set, as the person welcoming us clearly did a bit of research concerning our "case" that we sent in advance. After a bit of fun role-playing (not mandatory, but fun!) , a secret door was opened and we were in the bar itself. It's a cozy, dimly lit basement, where the appropriately- dressed staff brought us to our table. The menu is an eye catcher as well, with almost all cocktails named after famous (fictional) criminals like Thomas Shelby, Salazar, and of course Al Capone. The menu is yours, a note book to keep as souvenir. Nice touch. This speakeasy is supposed to be the home of the best Old Fashioned in the world, so that's the first thing we ordered, and it did not disappoint. It's brought to the table with a bit of show, and although I found it a bit weird that the zest was done at the start instead of at the end, it was a great Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, the other cocktails didn't get to that level. Don't get me wrong, they were nice, but not wow. I was also a bit disappointed when I requested a surprise cocktail with rum, and I got what was clearly... a rum Old Fashioned. Not very inspired. While the cocktails weren't world class, they were decent. I did feel a bit for the excellent two- man band, who had to play for a crowd of really loud people. And trust me, they were good enough to listen to. I do also have to mention the staff. Absolutely what I wish every bar had! Super friendly, they saw immediately when the water was gone and brought us a new bottle, nothing was too much to ask. Just wow. And when we left, the detective at the door gave us a happy ending to our submitted case! I still have many cocktail bars to discover in London, but when I'm near Earl's Court again, I'm coming back.

However the comical and cool welcome we each received in the agency reception was great. I told the host to give my hubby hell ! ;) This “lowdown dive” is an institution, but it’s not tired at all. Great service , perfect speakeasy feel, authentic and I can’t reveal any clue about the entrance as it’s all part of the fun. Just be in character! Excellent range of cocktails and classics . Their signature Old Fashioned is worth all the show. Great for a small group or a fun couple pre or post theatre . Just book well ahead. Stevie is an excellent skilled and suave mixologist and get the groove going even when it got busier. This is not a one-time novelty place, def a bar to hang albeit with unique character. Will be back , and on time sir!

Their signature Old Fashioned is worth all the show. Great for a small group or a fun couple pre or post theatre . Just book well ahead. Stevie is an excellent skilled and suave mixologist and get the groove going even when it got busier. This is not a one-time novelty place, def a bar to hang albeit with unique character. Will be back , and on time sir!

Well what an absolute find. I mean once you do find it! Just ring the doorbell and enter down the stairs. Just make sure you haven't been followed. After the necessary interrogation you will be let in and immediately hit with the lush speakeasy vibes. Cocktails and service fantastic and there was live music. There is a surcharge on the bill to pay for the music but its part of the deal and well worth it. The most noticeable thing was just how much fun everyone was having. Get it on your list.

Great service the staff were really attentive and in character. Cocktails delicious. We didn’t try food. Decor great and so was entertainment. Felt so 1920’s. A really good vibe and great night out.
