Fantastic place where you can live an immersive experience with a 1920s atmosphere. Excellent music, original cocktails, good beer and excellent staff. We had a great time. Thanks to Ercole for the treatment given to us.

The place is very well decorated, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is immersive. The cocktails are delicious. It has live music (excellent). I would have liked there to be something more to eat on the menu, you only find cheese or charcuterie, starting at 9 there is a cart that sells hot dogs. My advice? Go around 8.30/9 which is when the live music starts.

A Hidden Gem That Nails the 1920s Vibe Second time visiting Evans & Peel, and it was just as fantastic as the first. This time I brought a friend from out of town, and we both had a blast. The staff was incredibly helpful, the drinks were top-notch, and the atmosphere is spot on, from floor to ceiling, it truly captures that classic 1920s speakeasy feel. The real star of the night was JP at the front desk. He never broke character once, rolled with all of our banter and roleplaying, and absolutely made the experience unforgettable. Hats off to you, JP, atta boy!

The drinks are good and the decor is really lovely, but they charged us more than £20 "discretionary service charges" (two different kinds, mind you) on a £30 bill for two drinks. Service is slow and not interactive at all. Once you sit down the speakeasy charm ends. One of our discretionary charges was for live music, but in the middle of the set a hog dog cart wheeled out right in front of the music and the server was shouting over the music to get orders from guests - not something I'd complain about if I wasn't charged £20 for "live music"! Do yourself a favor, go to Cahoots. Way friendlier, more atmospheric, and no "discretionary service charges"

Amazing speakeasy bar with an immersive 1920s style that transports you to a different time. Staff were very friendly, providing great service and banter. Drinks were especially good - I got the black box and was not disappointed. Cannot recommend this place enough

What a great experience! A real speak easy and very nostalgic atmosphere. Stevie met us as the junior detective and interviewed our party which had to state the reason we needed to “hire” his agency. Once the case was laid out he had us find the secret door to enter the establishment. The drinks and atmosphere are top notch!! Highly recommended.

Very cool and unusual place! We turned up without an appointment and managed to get a table which was a nice surprise. The whole experience was amazing and fun, totally unexpected and unique. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, great decor, and cocktails are superb. Fantastic experience and would like to go back.

Literally feels like time travelling, so really liked it (especially the live music on the night). The only thing I don't really like is when cocktails get served in strange containers, i.e. metal tins or coffee cups. I get that it's themed, etc. but it's just a pain to drink out of those strange vessels...

I booked an appointment with Evans and Peel, two well-known detectives as I needed help with a case. Their place is very welcoming and fully furnished in a 1920s style. The cocktails they propose while they deal with your case are homemade recipes that you will not find anywhere else. Eventually, they could solve my case brilliantly. Definitely the place to go to spend a great evening in an uncommon way and have a good time enjoying unique tasty drinks.

SO MUCH FUN!!! We were looking for a fun place to go and this was a blast. We had a “case” ready but it wasn’t the right fit. Thankfully he let us in anyways haha. The drinks were fantastic and they love being creative. Don’t skip this!!

The concept was great, and the intro with the man set the scene well—it was an intriguing start. However, the overall experience felt overpriced, and we were caught off guard by unexpected charges. We were charged £30 for live music and £10 for service (for a table of four), which wasn’t clearly stated beforehand. While the experience itself was fun, the lack of transparency made it feel unfair. We would have enjoyed it more if the costs had been clearer upfront.

Fun experience and nice cocktails but £18 service charge (% based on our bill, we were a table of 4) and then £30 charge for music before paying for our drinks is extortionate. Both are discretionary so we opted not to pay the £30 but keep the service charge.

An incredible place! The hidden entrance typical of secret bars is nice, but the real protagonists are the fantastic drinks and the best old fashioned in the world. Personal advice, try it even if it costs a little more than the other drinks on the drink list (those are also delicious anyway). We went intrigued by the experience and aesthetics of the place, but we were enchanted by the quality of the drinks. Well done Ercole and well done all the boys and girls on the staff

Absolutely Amazing experience! I advise anyone staying in or around Earl's Court or Kensington to go and partake of an evening of Shenanigans here! Booking was easy and I handed over some sparse details of our "Case" and the brilliant Detective who met with us really came through for the experience! The Decor and Atmosphere was top tier, the drinks delicious, the live music absoutely cracking and the Customer Service was second to none! I would definetly go again and hope everyone gets the chance to visit Evans and Peel Dectective Agency!

Extremely immersive! Sold as a real private detective agency, the bar offers excellent original cocktails. Subdued atmosphere and very dynamic and pleasant instrumental concert... Brilliant! A must do.

an interesting experience, the drinks are nice and waiters are attentive as well! however a live band performance charge of 20 pounds came out of the blue without any prior notice. we would've expected some heads up, or at least something along those lines.

This place is epic! The drinks are SO good! I was so surprised when I ordered the black box drink and it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Really good! I love that the whole theme of the place is so well incorporated everywhere, including in the reception. The country band was definitely something else I'm coming back for!

The private detective bar is so fun 😍 Before entering, a detective will chat with you to confirm the details of your case. Basically, the content is absurd but the interaction is very funny. The scene is well arranged. There is a secret bar after entering. The atmosphere and wine list are also very detailed related to the detective case. The wine itself is mediocre, but the experience is great and worth visiting!

Unfortunately an inconvenient experience. Paid 110 quid for 4 cocktails and two beers. Bad entertainment, random charges for lousy live music without prior notice, tremendously overpriced drinks. Expected more.

Such a fun location with delicious drinks! You meet with a 'detective' and discuss the crime you wish hiring them to help with before being escorted through the bookshelf to a speakeasy.

Very special speak easy bar with a prohibition era atmosphere - and live jazz on Thur-Fri-Sat! Just entering the place was an experience! The discreet door, the agent receiving you, etc. Staff is great and cocktails too, would definitely recommend !

I loved the whole experience there. Cocktails were amazing, the service was very good. I love how knowledgeable everyone is, from the bartenders to the waiters, and determined to find the cocktail that you will absolutely love. The detective agency role play at the beginning is very clever and sets the right mood. An amazing experience overall!

I enjoy my time here went with my partner for a his surprise birthday. The detective is very spot on and set up the atmosphere for the cocktail bar. The drinks aren’t too expensive and taste wonderful. I enjoyed the live music and the setting of the bar. The waitress and waiter are very attentive. La experiencia de entrada fue bastante única y no voy a estropearla aquí, pero mi amigo no tenía idea de lo que estaba sucediendo, lo que lo hizo bastante entretenido! Como no teníamos reserva nos sentamos inicialmente en el bar (separado de la sala principal y no muy cómodo) , pero al poco tiempo se abrió una mesa y nos movieron. La decoración es auténtica de 1920 y esto solo fue realzado por la banda en vivo que estaba tocando durante la primera mitad de nuestra visita. Gran vibra y una multitud interesante también. Tienen una gran variedad de cócteles y es bastante confuso revisar el menú en su entorno muy oscuro. Dicho esto, las bebidas que probamos eran bastante decentes. Su anticuado vale la pena intentarlo principalmente debido a la preparación de la mesa. En general, una experiencia muy agradable y no puedo creer que solo estoy de visita ahora después de haber vivido cerca todos estos años. Definitivamente esperamos traer más huéspedes desprevenidos en el futuro!

I visited with a friend on a Friday evening. The entry experience was rather unique and I won’t spoil it here, but my friend had no idea what was happening which made it quite entertaining! As we didn’t have a reservation we were initially seated at the bar (separate to the main room and not very comfortable), but after a short while a table opened up and we were moved over. The decor is authentic 1920’s and this was only enhanced by the live band that was playing during the first half of our visit. Great vibes and an interesting crowd as well. They have a huge range of cocktails on offer and it is quite confusing going through the menu in their very dark setting. That said the drinks we tried were pretty decent. Their old fashioned is worth a try mainly due to the table side preparation. Overall a very nice experience and I can’t believe I’m only visiting now after having lived nearby all these years. Definitely look forward to bringing around more unsuspecting guests in future!

The live music was the perfect backdrop, setting the mood without being overpowering. We drank, and soaked up every bit of the vintage charm. The cocktails were on point, delicious and crafted with care, and the radiator beer was as good as you could expect! But what really made the evening stand out was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and always on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. They genuinely added to the experience and made the birthday celebration feel extra special. Overall, we had an amazing evening, and I can't recommend Evans & Peel enough.

Esto fue muy divertido para una noche de fiesta. ¡Tan diferente! El personal da el 100% para que esto no sea solo una noche de fiesta, sino una experiencia. Se mantienen totalmente en el carácter. La decoración interior es fabulosa y las bebidas son deliciosas. Incluso los menús son especiales. La atención a cada detalle hace que sea una visita obligada.

We went without a booking and they fit us in on a strangely quiet Saturday evening. The role play greeting is excellent and really sets the mood. The drinks were very decent and the setting, decor, piano playing and bar men are all on point. Had a real nice time and we tried a couple of cocktails each. Would recommend one except they’re all decent if we’re being honest.

Interesting hidden bar, the ticket for live music is 6£ per person starting from 9pm. And the cocktails were great 👍🏻

This is an American style speak-easy hidden away on an unsuspecting street. I loved the novelty and decor. There is an extremely charismatic actor front of house who pretends to be a detective and jokingly interrogated us before letting us in - it's a good idea to think of a story before you go to spare yourself some embarrassment! The only downside is that it's a bit overpriced and truthfully I didn't really like the cocktails on offer but overall it's a cool experience and it's a bit of fun so I would recommend.

Fantastic themed cocktail bar! I came here about a year ago while on vacation with family and was treated to the best service and cocktails I've ever had. However, the real show of service was recently when I contacted the establishment and asked for the details of a drink I was served. Their response was quick, thoughtful, and exactly what I needed! If you do choose to come here, do know that the experience is greatly enhanced if you arrive with a "case." I was unaware of this when I came here, but the greeter did an amazing job at working around our lack of preparedness. This speakeasy is a must!

I got to admit we struggled a lot while walking through London. A good "coffee" was nowhere to be found. Luckily, there is Detective Mitch and the agency to help you with all of your needs. It is an amazing place, hidden behind a false door. Mitch was amazing first contact and let you feel the 1929 Prohibition vibe they are going for. If you are a cocktail newbie such as me I'd recommend asking the bar staff they are very helpful in regards to zeroing in towards something you'll like. Next time I'll be in London, I'll certainly be back.

This is the utmost experience in London! It has became my favorite bar of all times!! Everything was absolutely amazing from beginning to end! And Mitch was definitely a marvelous host! My expectations were exceeded by far. :)

I have been to this place 3 times before and have absolutely loved my experience but today it was not the same. For starters they no longer do the Polaroid photo with one of their drinks ( I still have the photo they took), they also no longer served the cool personalised placemats for the cocktails which is sad (I have a collection of the placemats cuz they are so cool). On top of that they did not advertise at all that there would charge £12 per person for the live music (great live music just was not prepared for the expensive charge). I bought two drinks (£14 each) and my total cost was £38 and half of their menu was out. You are getting less for higher cost and I hope you guys can make some changes cuz I can’t see myself coming again.

Earlier in the day, we booked an early reservation for 19:30. From the second we stepped inside, it was a blast. The drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere was incredible. We're so glad we adventured out to Evans & Peel Detective Agency

This place is awesome. Step into a role playing cocktail drinking experience. Went the last night I was in London this trip and wished I had went sooner. 1920s vibe with cocktails named after mobsters. Had the old fashioned and another speciality gin drink. Both were amazing. Do yourself a favor and go for at least a drink or two.

What a fun experience! The selection of cocktails was good and the atmosphere was simply mind blowing! Definitely somewhere to try once because it is not like your typical bar!

Super fun speakeasy that is an entire experience. The actors are on point, and the vibe underground with the craft cocktails, live music, and eclectic antiques is just perfection. Definitely go for their signature old fashioned made table side. Make a reservation, and don’t ask the dry cleaners where the entrance is.

I love Evans and peel detective agency. Such a fun vibe with great cocktails and good food. I do recommend booking a later slot so you can see the band play - they absolutely slapped but we were leaving as they began! Great atmosphere and an experience I have never forgotten. This is a not to be missed, super fun excursion. It's a little hard to find, but make the effort. I won't review the exact process to keep it a fun surprise but be ready to report your crime and step back into 1929 prohibition. Much plays his part so well and the place is awesome. The drink menu is fabulous. We had a lucky Luciano, Whitey Bulger and an Al Capone. The experience is totally with it!

Went here with my partner for drinks. Was absolutely amazing! The bartenders were extremely knowledgeable, and made classic cocktails on request as well as what was on the menu! Our host Mitch was amazing, we had a great time chatting with him and the bartenders! Definitely made a lifelong memory going to Evan and Peel! Mitch even took us out and showed us to the nearest halal restaurant, which i’m sure made londons first Halal snack pack!

We had a great time. The cocktails were amazing and the staff is incredible. One of our drinks was delivered in a suitcase, loved the presentation. The staff is absolutely incredible, we had several interesting conversations. If you're on the fence, don't be, this was such a fun experience.

Don’t get me wrong, very cool vibe with nice interior, entrance and nice host. But charged us all £6 each live music without even asking us / it being on the menu, with service on top? Egregious.

What can I say, other than the coolest Bar in London. Unique friendly and the cocktails and food are nothing less than tasty and awesome. The staff are funny friendly and a big shout out to Mitch for making our visit even funnier. If you’re looking for a place to have a good laugh on arrival and some lovely Cocktails look no further.

I cannot recommend this place more. I love a good speak easy, but i find that so few really embrace the theme. Evans and Peel really does it to 100 with everything there. The food was excellent, all the servers were very nice and engaging and they had some of the best cocktails I've ever had.

Excellent experience. The staff were all completely in character the entire time and were extremely attentive. The drinks were amazing, with options to suit everyone (I only like sweet cocktails, my partner is the opposite, and we both left happy!)
