We were looking for coffee & found this little paradise. Really good Cappuccino, really kind owner and so delicious olivebread. We would recommend it any time.

This is a delightful Islington restaurant at the bottom of the Essex Road. The ambience is warm and cozy and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely first class - the pea aspuma starter was a standout, but everything we had delicious and interesting without being pretentious. Heartily recommended and we'll be back again for more!

Found this little gem of a place after taking my son to kings college hospital on Thursday the 27th the avocado and olive wrap was amazing and the Banana milkshake was the best I’ve had in ages. Very happy with will gladly go again if in area 👍

Three Course has changed food and concept without amending the website. Now it's a short menu of burgers and ribs instead of simple, fresh Scandinavian style. Cooking was atrocious even for the new simplified food. A veal chop cooked to leather. Soft shell burger squidgy and unpleasant. No sides or veg or salads. The "chef" simply can't cook. You have the feeling they are running this place by the seat of their pants - economically that is. David, the very nice and embarrassed manager, told us the owner had gone to work in another restaurant. Other customers have complained that it isn't what they expected. On the plus side, the interior decor is quirky and appealing and the wine list has some delicious, well-priced labels but, on the basis of our experience, it's unlikely to stay open much longer.

HIPSTER HAVEN The pub came recommended, but by the end of the evening, I found myself wondering if I’d accidentally stumbled into an ironic social experiment in customer endurance. It’s a local hipster haven, drawing a crowd so homogenous it’s as though someone handed out starter kits at the door. Still, the vibe was mostly warm and friendly—a bit like being in a curated Instagram feed come to life, if you don’t mind everyone looking vaguely identical. The food? Surprisingly good. Hats off to the cooks, who managed to deliver dishes worthy of praise. Unfortunately, that praise stops right there. Our server forgot the order, leaving us waiting over an hour without so much as a “sorry” or an offer to soften the sting. As for the bar staff, they seemed to be operating on a strict diet of frustration and caffeine, snapping and eye-rolling their way through each transaction. Now, the atmosphere: we were a large birthday group on a Saturday night, so yes, it was packed. But this wasn’t just busy—it was cacophonic. The noise was loud enough to send my ears searching for a quieter escape route, and the lack of acoustic panelling made every attempt at conversation feel like shouting across a motorway. Intimate, it was not. And finally, the toilets. Let’s just say they looked like they’d seen some things—a state of affairs that might have added a gritty charm to the place if we weren’t expected to use them. In all, it was an experience that left me disappointed.
