Bavo in Islington

Tuvimos otra excelente comida aquí hoy. Puedo recomendar los hígados de pollo como entrante. Las chuletas de cordero donde muy tiernas y sabrosas. Otros miembros del grupo tenían albóndigas de carne, kleftico de cordero y kebabs de cordero, todos los cuales fueron declarados fabulosos.

We live nearby and like this restaurant already so we decided to hold my husband’s 80th birthday lunch party there. We had 50 guests and I have to say they did us proud. Every guest commented on the delicious food and the impeccable service. We got such amazing feedback on what a wonderful afternoon it was that I felt I had to write a 5 star review to do them justice.

Pregunte por los chefs especiales si tiene hambre. El lugar local necesita apoyo y nunca nos ha fallado en los diversos viajes.

Este no es el lugar más acogedor, pero la comida es excelente y BAVO es una maravillosa joya vecina. La carne está perfectamente preparada, las ensaladas son frescas y su hummus es exactamente como el hummus debe ser acompañado con un buen pan turco. El servicio es siempre amable y atento. ¿Que es no gustar?

La comida era bastante sosa. . Los entrantes de gambas eran muy tomate. Los espaguetis de marisco no sabían mucho. Shish de pollo era seco y suave. Mousakka no se veía atractivo y no estaba fuera cuando salió. Calamari fue probablemente la cosa más bonita. Los camareros eran amables, pero desafortunadamente no estaban a la altura de nuestras expectativas y no volveremos a cenar aquí con tristeza.

Sea bass filet nothing great ( possibly frozen didn’t say) Kleftico too much tomato, very little flavour (not Limonia in Primrose Hill). All in all sweet service but not much to serve.

Hi Tried this restaurant for the first time this evening. Nice stylish decor. Very clean, and the little touches, like real plants, cotton napkins and a lovely waiter obviously the old school type and very experienced. Food was very tasty. The mixed grill could have had a little bit more meat, missed the cubes of lamb. Overall the service was excellent food was great. Will definitely visit again.

Bavo is a neighbourhood gem. The food is not amazing but homely, tasty and good. The service is so lovely and the staff go the extra mile to make sure you have a nice time. Going here for a meal as a couple or with a group is easy, pleasant, fuss-free and fun.

We booked here for Saturday night for my mums birthday. There were 8 of us. Never been here before but was recommended by a friend. It was absolutely lovely!!! The staff were so kind and so attentive. And the food was out of this world, simply delicious! This will now be our go to family restaurant. Absolutely incredible!

From the moment I glanced at the menu outside to the end of the evening when I felt impelled to hug the owner and staff goodbye... it was a wonderful experience. The service, hospitality, delicious food and cocktails! I highly recommend this soulful establishment!

We had a superb family celebration in Bavo last night for my brother and sister in law’s 30th wedding anniversary. A wonderful welcome and brilliant service from the friendly and efficient staff and the most delicious food...the best char grilled salmon I have had in a very long while. Despite there being twenty of us, we were all served with each course within a minute or so of each other. A huge thank you to all at Bavo...great attention to detail from the staff and management meant that we had a truly memorable night.

The food was fine, nothing special, what you get for 10 pu de per meal. The staff was friendly, but the atmosphere wasn’t great due to lack of people. We order two dishes and one of them was not that hot when it came. Would think it would be good for a family.

I kid you not, this for us as been the best find we have found in ages in terms of Turkish/Greek cuisine. To be very frank, we were expecting an average meal. To say that we were surprised at the quality and ambience of this place would be an understatement. The reader will note that I write a lot of reviews and that I am not scared in the least to vociferously moan when somewhere doesn’t reach expectations. This place “under promises and over delivers” in droves. We have been to Turkish restaurants that are more than double the price of this place and the food less than 50% of Bavo’s quality. This is a fabulous neighbourhood atmosphere and we shall certainly be coming here often even though we live we are 4 miles away.

I was lucky enough to be invited to this amazing hidden gem by some close friends this evening , I usually wait until I get home to write my reviews but on this occasion the entire experience was so amazing I felt compelled to write while it was as fresh as the food I had eaten. The starters were superb this was a mixture of Calamari , home made bread , Samosas , meatballs and the most divine chilli sauce I have ever had. The main course was lamb cutlets and sautéed potatoes the lamb was juicy and cooked to perfection whilst perfectly complimented by the potatoes and more yummy chilli sauce , my wife and children also had superb meals. In short if you are in this neck of the woods you simply must check this fabulous restaurant out , the proprietor Seyho was on hand the entire evening adding a very personal touch. I can’t wait to return.

Simple food, very easy happy service. Love sitting at the pavement table, eating hummus, drinking Sicilian wine, then lovely lamb. Very good local atmosphere.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and serves a combination of Turkish, Greek and Italian food. All good quality fresh ingredients, nicely presented on the plate. Service exceptional friendly. Good prices. Very busy for 6.30pm on a Thursday night. We will return when we are...

Had an early family dinner just recently. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us (we had 1 child and 1 baby)! We all had different main courses which were all really good. The Lamb Kebab was extremely tender and well-cooked, the Iskender...

We used to go here and then sadly it closed and an Argentinian restaurant opened in its place. That's gone and hooray Bavo is back. It's an affordable local restaurant in Shoreditch. Service is charming. Food is excellent, portions are large. terrific mixed mezze, great...

What a great little restaurant! Fabulous food, incredibly welcoming and professional service and good value for money. We had a really lovely family dinner and will definitely be back soon.

Delicious home cooking, great service and a warm welcome. I had okra stew and basmati rice which I really enjoyed but I know from previous visits that the fish and seafood is equally good. And there is a kid's menu too which is very good...

We have been to Bavo twice and plan to return many more times. The food is delicious, the staff are fantastic and the prices are reasonable. There is no shortage of Mediterranean style restaurants in Islington and Hackney but this is on a different level....

Came here for some family lunch. Can highly recommend the hot Mezze platter. Attentive service and good food.
