Our Favourite Restaurant Diyarbakir Sofrasi at 458 Edgware Rd, London W2 1EJ After a long break since COVID, I recently revisited a favourite local restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. The new Head Chef, Mr. Riza, Manager Ms. Eva, and Head Baker Ms. Fidan form an exceptional team, whom I call the "Three Musketeers," for their honesty, sincerity, and warmth. As a vegetarian two days a week, I ordered lentil soup, and the staff thoughtfully informed me it might contain chicken stock. Chef Riza clarified it was only a chicken cube used for seasoning, which I appreciated for their transparency. This predominantly Turkish restaurant offers a fine-dining twist with Levantine influences, making each dish irresistible. Chef Riza’s mastery of the open pit grill, working with various kebabs and grilled dishes, feels like watching a kitchen soap opera unfold. Similarly, watching Ms. Fidan expertly bake bread in the oven is like witnessing an orchestra in motion. Both create an experience that feels like theatre, without the need for a ticket. The staff is highly trained, maintaining excellent service and efficiency. I now frequent the restaurant more often, eager to try their non-vegetarian dishes as well. I wish the team continued success © Ash-Cash and Ash and Karen

Nesma Falafel in London offers some of the city's best falafel, featuring a uniquely distinctive green chili sauce that's nothing short of addictive. But what truly sets this place apart is their exceptional take on Foul Maddamas, a Mediterranean made from Fava Beans, specialty crafted with a Sudanese twist that stands out from the ordinary. This family-run restaurant, led by the owner Mr. Mubarak, is a true culinary gem. Mr. Mubarak wears many hats – head chef, manager, customer server, and even cashier. His personal touch in every aspect of the business ensures that every visitor leaves with a satisfied smile, eagerly looking forward to their next visit. Beyond the delicious cuisine, Nesma Falafel offers exceptionally Healthy, Gluten-Free, Sour Bread options like "Injara" and the world-renowned Sudanese "Kisra" made from Sorghum. Here's to Nesma Falafel's continued success and their journey towards culinary excellence. Ash-Cash and Ashandkaren

Perfect spot for a date Mr. Pepe made our date perfect. There are no words to describe how good food and hospitality was. If you are looking for a place to eat good food drink good wine and spend quality time together it is the spot that you are looking for. Thank you so much Don Pepe for a night that we would not forget.

It’s the price that sets this place apart. Pretty decent food at a very generous price for this part of London. Sat atop the huge antique market, it has a simple menu, not the vastest choice but full English tasted reasonable enough. Can sit inside or weather permitting in the rooftop terrace.

I had visited this restaurant previously while down in London on a business trip. I decided to try it again and wasn't dissapointed. The restaurant was busy but I managed to get a table without an advance booking. The restaurant was very cosy and the staff took my order withn a few minutes of sitting down. The staff were friendly and made sure everything was ok with the meal. The food tasted amazing and I even ordered dessert which I don't do often. Glad the restaurant is still around after COVID times and look forward to coming back again soon.

My partner and I came here on a Sunday lunch. As others have found the food was very good quality and we couldn't fault service. They accept cash payments too which is always welcome. As others have mentioned it is a bit pricy, but they do supply quality Indian-style food. However we skipped the poppadoms, as they charged both for the poppadom but also for individual sauces/chutneys. For that reason only I'm putting a 4-Very Good in place of 5-Excellent.

They start you off with complimentary lentil soup. So delicious, we knew the rest of the meal was going to be great. We ordered labneh and pickled beets as starters. It came with really nice flatbread with sesame seeds. My husband even liked the labneh, something he can usually take or leave. We devoured everything else too: foul medames (fava beans) fried halloumi, fattoush salad and chicken kebab. Even had leftovers for the next day. Service was good, would definitely go back.

We live in Nottingham which has a distinct lack of good Egyptian food and being a mixed Egyptian/English family we really miss it. Whilst on short break in London we searched online for Egyptian food near our hotel and this place came up and we decided to give it a try. From the outside it is an unassuming backstreet takeaway, but they do have a small dining area in the basement. Don't be put off by the places appearance as the food is fantastic and such good value. I would say the kofta kebab is probably the best I have had in the UK and the lamb and okra was melt in the mouth. Salads also fresh and super tasty. Only tiny critisisam is that the rice was plain basmati and not Egyptian style. Wish we could have tried more things on the menu and will definitely be back next time we are in London.

Lovely delicious food. We’d been meaning to go for a while. The aged steak, prawns and grilled octopus were cooked to perfection. So much so we ordered another helping of the prawns. The sides we generous and a good varied selection. The salsa verde and Harissa paste were so delicious I was eating them on their own hence the extra prawns! The host was friendly, warm and an excellent conversationalist. We visited early evening 4:30 ish after the lunch hour rush when it was a bit quieter. Open Mondays to Saturday but closed Sundays. Enough sitting for twenty for an intimate party I reckon. The wine selection was excellent too. They also do occasional wi e tasting sessions.Highly recommended. We will be back!
