Excellent food and lovely service

Lovely atmosphere and staff. Food was hit and miss; some dishes were excellent, others were poor.

Really lovely tasty food in a good atmosphere feel really at home.. wonderful staff even the cooks come up to see if we enjoyed the food. Highly recommended

Excellent home-cooked food, authentic family ambience

As a spanish I can say this restaurant offer athentic spanish food. Pepe treated us very well. We ate tapas: Galician-style octopus, mussels with tomato, and Roman-style squid. Then, as a main dish, we ordered paella. The truth is it couldn’t be tastier. This is the best option in London if you want to eat well and at a reasonable price. The same quality you will find in Spain.

Como espanyol puedo decir que este restaurante ofrece comida autèntica. Pepe nos trató muy bien. Comimos tapas: pulpo a la gallega, mejillones con tomate y calamares a la romana. Luego como plato principal hicimos paella. La verdad que no podria estar mas rico. Esta es la mejor opción en Londres si quieres comer bien y a un precio razonable. La misma calidad que encontraràs en España.

I and my latest fling dropped by don mr Pepe for a dinner that was desperately needed in London Town. We arrived and entered the Pepe and said “hola chicos”. Don mr Pepe greeted us and sat us down near a nice, gorgeous painting. We were very excited and hungry and giddy. We ordered a menu of Spanish omelette alongside gambas (prawns) garlic (ajo) bread (pan) et queso (fromage) with chorizo which altogether created an evening of real delight. The gambas disappeared within eight nanoseconds which was a telling result of my order. My husband said “wowzers now that is gambas 100%!” He couldn’t wait to tuck in to mucho. We next ordered tortilla, I thought it would make sense. What came was unexpected! It was not like the wraps you buy in Sainsbury’s it was made of egg potato’s. And the taste made me deliriously delirious. Bread. Wow. Fresh, warm, soft, crunchy just WOW. Overall, otherworldly flavours burst into my world. We can’t fault anything don mr Pepe did for us. He ran the show like he was doing a lesson in hosting. Don we cannot thank you enough for your service, kindness, deliciousness and grace. Viva la Vida Pepe.

Excellent tapas and service. Very authentic food and atmosphere from a family run business with over 50 years service in London. My wife and I shared 4 tapas and bread, more than enough for dinner due to the healthy gambas al ajillo were especially tasty.

We have been a few times years ago and recently twice with a friend and food is still nice the same as years ago. Service is good and quality too. Highly recommended.

Who would have thought you would find a really good Spanish restaurant 1/2 a block off Edgeware Road? I wouldn't have but we did. My wife and I had a selections off Tapas that were all really good.

It's a restaurant with a great atmosphere that has been around for 50 years. All the food is delicious, and the attentiveness and service are excellent. The store staff treats customers cheerfully and pleasantly, regardless of their race! Everything is expensive in London, but the price was affordable. I'm sorry that the two of us couldn't finish the paella. But you can take out the leftovers! I think this is a restaurant that is loved by locals and regulars. Please stop by and check it out when you come to London! ! I was able to make a reservation from Google! gracias!!!

Years ago I went to London with groups and ate and took clients. I would like to have a WhatsApp number to contact them.

Was quite skeptical arriving. But within five minutes the atmosphere and personable staff grew on me. The food was delicious and authentic. Would definitely recommend.

The food are authentic and nice compared to the price. We ordered 8 dishes including paella and a bottle of wine and it’s only 40 gbp per person, better book in advance. Sometimes it gets a bit busy at night. Mushroom is a must. It’s is super tasty believe it or not.

Must visit this place. The food was so delicious 🤤 and very affordable price. The restaurant run by an old gentleman who’s so friendly and kind person also his friend bring rose for my Girlfriend while we was leaving the restaurant 😊 but I have to say the food was very tasty and not expensive if anyone like good food and doesn’t mind about the place then please go there you won’t feel regret.

Great little place. A blast from the past but very traditional old caverna type feel. A little outdated perhaps but adds to the charm. The food is excellent, just like in Barcelona. Great selection of tapas and well priced. The staff are very attentive and the portions are a good size. You won’t go hungry.

Don Pepe feels like a very authentic traditional Spanish restaurant. It’s comfortable and rustic rather than edgy and exciting. The overall quality of the dishes is excellent and the prices are low. The owner is a lovely man and sets the tone. Our Monday 7:30 booking was based on reading thefork reviews. We were slightly disconcerted that it was so quiet when we arrived and it didn’t get busy. In consequence there wasn’t much ambiance. It might be different at peak times.

Excellent, quality food. I would say typical place, Spanish, a bit of a 'strange' neighborhood but close to the metro. So convenient to reach. The All very good tapas. Paella I am told is very good, but the waiting time in general is a bit long. Only for that 4 instead of 5 stars. Probietario was one of the first in London with a tapas restaurant. Great person. If you are looking for a place without atress with typical Spanish food from 69 what a restaurant. Oldest Spanish restaurant in London (since 69 he told us)

As a fellow Spanish, I couldn’t recommend it more. The owner, chef and service were outstanding. And food even better than in Spain! The pulpo a la gallega is a must. We ordered almost all the tapas (we were a group of seven) and wines. Quality-price is the best restaurant in London.

Had an amazing meal here with my son on Friday night. One of the highlights of our weekend. The food was probably the best tapas we have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection. Lovely authentic ambience and attentive staff, especially the main man Don pepe. Such a charming and lovely man who was great with my son. Really enjoyed all the tapas we tried. The vino tinto was most palatable. Best of all was the charming owner who also waited on us. After fifty years in this delightful location he is still the most amiable host. Todo bien! Muchas gracias!

Excellent little Spanish restaurant that we found for our anniversary trip. My wife's dad is from Spain, so she's pretty discerning when it comes to tapas. We ordered 6-7 different ones along with sangria, and we were as impressed with the food and drinks as in Spain. This restaurant shows why there's no need to try to "elevate" tapas- with excellent ingredients and cooking, the food speaks for itself. When we're in London again, we will definitely be back!

We came across this restaurant and had a great time. The food was amazing and perfectly done. The staff was very friendly and we were overwhelmed with the high standard and quantity of food. The restaurant had a really friendly and very Spanish feel. The chef and staff were so nice and attentive. Highly recommended. :))

Gem of a restaurant tucked in a back street. Don Pepe was a fabulous host and the food and ambience was great. Looks like Pepe could maybe do with an extra hand to keep things moving. Visit regardless.

My boyfriend and I visited this place and honestly exceeded our expectations. Very welcoming staff, great atmosphere and delicious authentic food… we loved Don Pepe!!!! Definitely will be a must in our ‘to do’s’ list for our next trip to London :)

My grandparents came here and so did my father. I have continued the tradition although it's hard because I'm not local and parkingisn'twhat it was in the 80s and obviously cant drink their Vino and drive.Same owners since forever. The paella is top class.

Just like being back in Spain. Aun Don Pepe si mismo habla español si se quiere practicar. I love this establishment, and even more so because it is the quintessential mom-n-pop humble restaurant. The food is delicious, and the many Spanish repeat patrons seem to agree as well.

It's a bit of a hidden gem in an area that has few Spanish restaurants. We loved it all but especially the calamari and the garlic shrimp. You will not go wrong in choosing this great place.

A great evening here. We had yummy tapas. Great environment and setting. The place has an old-fashioned charm that's hard to find these days. Think vintage decor, cozy lighting, and a relaxed vibe. The staff are super friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Our favourite dish was beans with pancetta.

We have just had a very enjoyable meal at Don Pepe. Food (tapas and paella) and wine very good and excellent value. Restaurant a bit dated but service great. Cannot understand why the place wasn’t buzzing with customers on a Friday evening. We will return

Food was really good. Pepe can be a bit of a ditherer and I am glad it wasn't a busy night. Food was lovely. Paella delicious. Restaurant is dated and could do with a make over, but don't let that stop you going here. I just prefer modern to old fashioned.

Calmari on point, marinated pork on point, cheese and ham on point. tarta de Santiago on point, service on point, atmosphere on point. It reminded me of the time I walked the Camino de Santiago (walking across Spain) ... muy bueno.

Simply my fav restaurant in London after living locally for 2 years. Authentic taste with a good tapas selection, must-try paella (you will regret for decades if not!!), superb value, and great service with Mediterranean passion + sincerity. The owner (Don Pepe himself) has been running this restaurant for 50+ years and always treats his customers, whether or not Spanish-speaking, with a big smile and warm hospitality.

Fantastic family run Galician restaurant! I just had dinner there, and I can't wait to go back!

A memorable experience, and in a terrible horrible way. Arrived before 7, ordered calamari, spinach and paella around 7. Nothing, absolutely nothing came till well past 8:30. I almost fainted with hunger. Not even a piece of bread was offered during this entire time. The restaurant was practically empty. A party of Spanish speakers arrived after us, and they were entirely focussed on serving them. There were no other diners. The lone waiter was drunk, they pretended not to understand English, exceptionally rude and pettey much made us feel as unwelcome in as many ways as possible. A nightmare really.

Great authentic Spanish food at a reasonable price. We ordered pulpo alla gallega and paella for two, both delicious. There is a nice selection of tapas, we will try them next time. The service was very friendly.

Amazing meal, real Spanish tapas that was obviously made fresh and priced very reasonably. But the real reason to come here is the amazing service. The hosts (Pepe himself and others) are so sweet and accomodating, and in true Mediterranean style give you plenty of time to finish your meal. Loved it, would come back again!

Don Pepe is a classic Spanish restaurant that has been open since the 70s, and it is by far the best and the most real Spanish restaurant in London. The quality of the food is as good as the one you have in a small Galician village. The octopus is from Vigo, which is super rare, and ridiculously cheap. Staff are all from Galicia and they are super friendly. A 10/10 place.

Don Pepe is a hidden gem in London. All food is prepared on the spot, and you will get one of the best tapas you can find, in one (if not the first) taperia in London. The paella is also excellent! Don Pepe himself is one of the kindest hosts we have met, and will treat you with respect and personality. We cannot recommend it highly enough! Margherita & Matt

This is a real Spanish restaurant where you will find what I would say is the best Galician food in town. The octopus is wonderful, same as the pimientos and the wine.
