The pinoy grilled chicken was as expected, would be nicer if spicy. The Lomi was awful, looked and tasted slimy. noodles were over cooked, everything was grey for some reason.
We went to the restaurant after booking a couple of weeks in advance but years of saying we really wanted to go. It looks the part and is lovely inside.
Sadly, the food was disappointing. Starters were at best, good. The mains, however, were incredibly poor. I had fish (on the bone) with new potatoes and my partner had the steak. It quite literally was just fat, and had no taste whatsoever. The table right next to us had the same and pushed it around their plates before leaving promptly.
My partner mentioned to the waiter his dislike and was met with a 'stare' that was then directed at me ? I was shocked at the unprofessionalism. As the restaurant is small, it was very awkward.
Anyway, we paid our £120 and left. We will not be returning.
Had we had a more professional waiter, we would've just put it down to making the wrong choice on the menu - but it was actually the waiters response that made our mind up that we a) would not be returning, and b) wrote this review.
Came here for a preprandial drink before going to the Grill restaurant. It's a great bar with superb staff - exactly what you would expect from the Savoy.
Party of 1 here. Took about 15-20 minutes to be seated but I was immediately greeted. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Food was incredible and made in house where you can have a nice visual of near the entrance. I was holiday so I’m always willing to pay for good food and good experience, so I’d say the value matched the price.
I agree with a previous reviewer that Paradise Greens feels like it was designed for business meals—somewhere polished enough to impress on the surface, but not focused enough on delivering a memorable dining experience. The food was good, but not standout, and the portion sizes landed in that same middle ground: not generous, but not small enough to feel intentionally refined. It’s a place that seems to be aiming for “premium,” but stops just short, which leaves the experience feeling oddly non-committal.
We also had an uncomfortable start to our visit when we arrived as a small group without a reservation. Even though the restaurant stayed mostly empty while we were there, the staff seemed put off by our arrival, creating an unwelcoming vibe right from the start.
In short, Paradise Greens looks and prices itself like a premium spot, but the food, service, and atmosphere all hover in an awkward in-between space—not bad, but not something I’d go out of my way to recommend.
The food was awful. I ordered the duck salad—the meat was blackened and rubbery, and the salad itself was a soggy mess. For mains, we had noodles with chicken, though you’d be hard-pressed to tell it apart from the duck. Everything, including some bland dim sum, a glass of wine, and a beer, came to £46—and it was inedible.
Service was equally disappointing. The staff clearly don’t care. Most tables were littered with dirty glasses and half-eaten food. Our meal arrived with just one set of cutlery. When I asked for another, I was told they’d get to it after serving someone drinks. After chasing them up again, I found the bar staff standing around looking stoned. Eventually, someone dropped off a fork and spoon at our table without a word.
This place never lets me down! The food and desserts are always fresh and full of flavour, and the staff are genuinely friendly and generous. It’s the perfect spot for a cosy lunch or a relaxed evening out. I’m hooked on their Spinach Ravioli, Norcina pizza, and the dreamy Tiramisu. Highly recommend!
So glad I popped in - fab place! These cafes are the heart and soul of London and need to be supported. Nice friendly chat with the owner, top nosh, and great London vibes. Oh and go and see the Sherlock pics if you're a fan :-)
