Really good food. Soup with sandwich complimentary. If you get the day where they do the tomato and basil soup, count your blessings because it is banging.

A wonderful sandwich for breakfast! Shop opens at 7am and all things were fresh. Had a chicken sandwich and it was exceptional. Fresh veggies and a thick chicken piece.

If its a near death experience that you're after, I encourage you to visit this sandwich shop. I had the prawn mayo sandwich from here and it was the first thing I had eaten all day. Worst decision of my life. My 22nd birthday plans were instead replaced with intense Diarrhoea, vomiting, passing out and loss of vision and hearing. It was dangerous to the point where we considered visiting the hospital when the excreted fluids contained blood. Now, it would be easy to look at this and think that's one review out of many 5 star reviews, and sure, maybe they had an off day when it comes to storing food properly and ensuring that the staff washed their hands before preparing the sandwich. However, no restaurant should ever have an "off day" when it comes to health and hygiene. If you're the type of person who loves Russian roulette, and taking risks, and you do decide to visit, I just hope the place fires a blank when you do. If like me, you think that health and safety should be included in the £5.30 you pay for what is ultimately a mediocre sandwich, I urge you to go to Pret where you can get a safe meal instead. No words in this review will ever capture how dangerous and frightening the experience was. I seriously believe this place needs to be shut down.

Excellent value for a picnic lunch; friendly staff, who crafted fresh ingredients into a very tasty sandwich and soup. We will definitely return.

Me and my GF went to London in 2019. My girlfriend was a bit under the weather. We found this place online and thought we had to try it. She needed some soup and I like specialty bread so it was a win win. The sandwich was good but what really made it worthwhile was the soup. We are California so we don't do well in cold windy whether. So having that soup was a life saver. It as herby and seasoned really well. I really want to know what goes into you green soup in a cup. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Be prepared to queue. Or go early. But I promise it’s worth it - great choice of food, free soup with special breads and friendly staff. You can’t sit in - it’s tiny, and the queue often stretches down the street - these aren’t first time customers, they come back again and again for the value. Love this place.

What a great little place. Been past a few times and always wondered why it's got a long queue at lunchtime. Found out why. Price. Tried them with a simple egg mayo bap with salad. I wondered why the bag was so heavy and full and discovered when there was a cup of vegetable soup. A mistake surely. But no, I went past again on my way back from lunch and it says it's free soup with "special" bread for which a bap seems to qualify. Both for £3.50!!! Clearly being cheap is a viable USP. Soup and sandwich were very good so I will definitely be back. Be prepared to queue 5-10 minutes during peak lunchtime.

This location is a bit hidden in a side street and we just noticed it because of the long queue in front of it. We ordered a sandwich and also got a soup, both tasted awesome. Everything is made fresh and the waiting times are very short. Perfect for lunch.

Hidden away and tiny, this is a real find. A great menu of sandwiches and speciality breads, jacket potatoes or salads. Speciality bread sandwiches get a free soup (I recommend the spinach soup!). So rare these days to find a place that isn’t a boring chain. The brie and avocado sandwich is delicious.

Whenever I'm nearby Bedford Street at lunch, I'll always go to Chequers! There's often a queue at lunch but it moves fast as the staff are so efficient. They have a huge range of sandwiches to choose from, great speciality breads (go for the tomato focaccia!), super friendly staff, and you even get a free soup with your sandwich. Can't recommend enough, a local gem.

This place is an incredible soups and sandwiches venue. It's tiny, and get's pretty busy at lunch time, but the quality of the meat, breads, spreads and toppings makes it all well worth it. Highly recommended.

Having made the move from Newcastle uni to London, I have been in a desperate search for London's answer to Newcastle's Frankie & Tony's. The suggestions came in thick and fast, with Birleys sandwiches topping everyone's list. However, Birleys is more of a celebratory sandwich. One you could end a week on. However, you are spunking cash on the filling and there isn't enough of it. I was in search of something else. A sandwich place for your everyday man, that didn't cost an arm & a leg yet possessed that Frankie & Tony special quality of being so consistently brilliant that you find yourself returning day in day out. It was only when I spotted a queue that seemed to stretch half way to the river Thames that I thought I should give them a go. Without boring you any further, it was sensational. Their specials are gorgeous (Hot Italian chicken is really hot btw) and service is quick. The free soup is a bonus. Tip 1: Go for breakfast and lunch in one day Tip 2: Get it toasted. Enjoy friends x

Last evening we went as a group friends 9 in total to the restaurant. The quality and the quantity of food was poor. When we complained to one of the member of stuff, asking to see the manager or chef, no one came to us to explain or apologise! Definitely Won't go back ever again. ☹
