Aside from the noisy eaters adjacent to my table, everything about Kima is good, and almost great. The food, however, doesn't quite reach the heights it should for the price you're paying. I had the seared ahi steak, and it was good without being anything I'd feel tempted to order again. The broccoli with wasabi sauce, by contrast, was a delight. The chocolate mousse dessert with sour cherries was surprisingly excellent, and almost rescued the tuna being a bit drab tasting. Almost.
I wrote this back in February 2020 when this place was in the o2 centre:
I was haplessly wandering towards Wagamama when I was intercepted by one of the waiters working at this adjacent establishment. ‘Good evening sir, the restaurant you’re about to enter is an insipid and hackneyed chain’, he proclaimed, ‘and we have a chef preparing fresh food on site, we offer fusion cuisine and an unrivalled view of the YO! Sushi conveyor belt and what’s more we’ve climbed to the lofty heights of number 38 on the TripAdvisor rankings’. Coincidentally I had recently made a resolution to only consume fusion cuisine, so needless to say I was convinced. Upon entering the already excellent lighting was adjusted to my taste...
I’ve lost the second page of my review, but from here on in the experience just got better and better. I look forward to tracking this place down again in Dalston.

We visited the Bookstore café on Saturday 21st December after discovering that this lovely location had recently reopened on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
We enjoyed some really tasty homemade soup, one was chicken and the other sausage and carrots, both had very generous portions of meat.
The drinks on offer included freshly made coffee and fruit flavoured kombucha.
The cake selection was very good, especially as it included small slices of tiramisu, which made a nice change.
I have joined their loyalty club to get even better value when we come back, which I hope will be soon.

Descubrimos Choppaluna con amigos, y no nos vamos - a ver! La comida es fresca, las porciones generosas y los sabores increíbles. El personal era acogedor, y el ambiente era justo. Muy recomendable para una comida casual, deliciosa!
Location davvero molto carina, locale piccolo ma curato in tutto!
Personale molto gentile e disponibile.
Abbiamo fatto una bella colazione e possiamo consigliare: bagel con uova e avocado, tortino al limone e da bere due smoothie davvero buoni e freschi e un pink latte!
Una vera chicca!
We visited the Victoria House cafe for Sunday brunch, my second visit. We didn’t have a reservation so had a bit of a wait but we were kept updated and given menus so we could choose while we waited.
The cafe was very busy but the service was very efficient and we were served straightaway when we sat down. The waitress was very friendly.
The food is fabulous. Great choice, large portions, freshly cooked and beautifully presented.
The cafe has a relaxed, friendly feel and I would definitely recommend it.
