We celebrated a friend's 60th birthday at the Bell Inn. It was a party of 17 including children of varying ages. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The food was spectacular in presentation and quality. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced. They had a fantastic back garden to retire to after the meal. For a small celebration, I would thoroughly recommend the Bell Inn. Excellent, thank you!

First visit here. Good food, (large portions), staff were really friendly and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Good looking host (he asked me to say this)😀

Best restaurant in the area with out a doubt

We held the wake for our Dad at The Crown which was the best decision - from the outset nothing was too much trouble - James and his team could not have been any better…… the food supplied were perfect and plenty of choice. Just want to say a massive thank you. Such a lovely friendly atmosphere with everything you would need for the day. Thanks again guys

What a beautiful destination to relax and take the edge off. It's so easy to get to and under 90 minutes to get to from London but definitely worth the trip. On entry you have the feeling of a well kept establishment. The grounds are natural but kept well without too much interference from people. I found the staff at the reception area super nice and friendly. They really go out of their way to be helpful. The hotel itself is unusual in design (to hotels I've stayed in before) but not in a bad way...just different. By booking a room for a night does open the option to use the spa facilities both the day of booking in (rooms ready at 3pm and clock outs at 10am) and can be used hours before you need to get the room key AND the whole day after clocking out of the room. Love this option. The spa facilities itself was pleasant with a good size swimming pool which is heat treated, a steam room that can seat around 10+ people at a time, a soana at around 67°C can hold 8 people. There is a salt room with real Himalayan salt tiles that is quite interesting. A very good size jacuzzi with two pressure sprayers....Now...the coolest member to the spa is the freezing plunge pool to give you that fresh feeling (if you feel brave enough). Also important to mention that the spa is an adult ONLY spa. Thumbs up to this. Also important to mention is that staff are actively cleaning, bringing new towels and checking water quality throughout the day. This is great to see. I HAVE to add the below unfortunately... The ONLY down to this area must be the relaxation chairs. They are not comfortable at all ...in fact.... While using the steam room I heard another couple complaining that their backs hurt from these chairs... I thought it was only me who found them unrealistic for the purpose they were there. The design is not made for hours of relaxation as a spa is there for. The chairs are flat in design with no nature curves as a body has. Definitely something to look at for future improvements. The treatment options are great with nail spas, facials etc. Definitely worth checking out the website to see all the options. Either way it was such a pleasure to stay, we booked last minute an extra night.

Went in for afternoon drinks and some food. Lovely cozy atmosphere and great service. Food was ok.

Our meal was delicious. It was fresh and hot and the service was amazing. Amelia was very attentive, polite and friendly and made sure our stay was enjoyable. My daughter had the beetroot risotto as a main and I had the bolognese as a main. Both absolutely lovely. Thank you x

Lovely ambience and surroundings, really good specials boards, with lots of choices in addition to the normal menu. We both chose from the specials board, roasted chicken with a lovely tarragon and mushroom sauce, tenderstem broccoli and new potatoes. Really lovely and with friendly staff. We will be back soon.

We were here for a wake and stayed the night in the bed and breakfast. Despite the sad occasion this was one of the best overnight stays we have ever had! The food at the wake was fresh, appetising and served just at the right time. They were more than happy to run photos on the tv and even invited us to bring along a USB of music to play in the background. We stayed and enjoyed a very tasty haddock, chips and peas which was so huge neither of us could finish. This has to be the best fish and chips we have ever tasted! Breakfast the following morning was freshly cooked on demand and we could help ourselves to a variety of cereals, coffee, tea, orange juice and toast. There was plenty of cooked options to choose from not just a full English. Throughout our time here every single member of the team was polite, friendly and helpful. We will 100% be returning as places like this which serve amazing food and drinks in a spotlessly clean environment with a smile are rare. Our room was incredibly clean and comfy and we both had a great night's sleep. Tv, tea and coffee facilities, fluffy towels, hot powerful shower plus a great radio/music set up. We cannot wait to return to enjoy one of the tribute nights we saw advertised. Well done everyone at the Rose and Crown!!!!

Big menu, lots to choose. But got set seafood meal, share for 2 at the end. Best decision! Food was delicious and fresh. The portions were more than enough.

Went to buy a bed ordered through them then they had one on display cheaper. Asked if we could have that as they originally said they did not have any in stock. When we complained the owner and his wife got rude and cancelled our order. I would never use them again. Found a better place up at stansted called you’re furnished much better quality and a lot cheaper. AVOID FORD BARNS at al cost as there plain rude

Really good food, always nice best chicken curry in my opinion. Also would like to say how lovely the lady on reception is, she is always friendly always polite and very professional when on the phone taking the orders ..
