Went in for afternoon drinks and some food. Lovely cozy atmosphere and great service. Food was ok.

If you are disabled you are not welcome here and you cannot get a room. Which is bad enough, but at least put it on your hotels.com profile so I know not to book with you. Or answer the phone instead of sending it straight to voicemail, that would be nice. I am a wheelchair user. I booked here through hotels.com. The listing states "no lift" so as I always do, I emailed the property asking for a room on the ground floor. I tried to call them about a separate issue, and they do not answer their phone. It rings once and goes straight to a generic voicemail. Called multiple times over about a 5 hour span and got nothing. So I went to their website to check it was the right number, and saw that they have ZERO rooms that a person with mobility issues can even get to the door of. Not just no accessible rooms as in no roll in showers or lowered beds, but ZERO ROOMS without step access. As per their website: "NB Please note there is no wheelchair access to the rooms" Their hotels.com listing does NOT state this as of today. It simply states "no lift" which is why I emailed to ask for a ground floor room. Ended up fighting hotels.com for a refund because they also couldn't get in contact with the hotel in any way. They tried to tell me that it was up to the hotel whether to refund me, which I just know would have ended in the hotel ghosting me and charging me a no show fee. Ended up getting hotels.com credit for the amount I paid, but when your hotel doesn't serve disabled people in 2025,that should be the first thing on your description. And frankly, to have zero rooms for anyone in a wheelchair in 2025 is unconscionable. Shame on y'all. Get a lift or a stair lift and stop being ableist.

Went for afternoon tea for mother's day. The sandwiches were lovely, especially the salmon with soft cheese and the tuna. Filter coffee was good. Felt like the afternoon tea offering wasn't as good as the last time we had it there, maybe five years ago

Fantastic meal, best I have had for a long while reasonably priced excellent service

Very disappointed. Ordered the vegetarian burger which was completely tasteless and wet. Chips were cold. Did express my feelings to lovely waitress to pass to chef. No discount on the food. Not difficult nowadays to have a good veggie burger, so much choice. Puds were good from comments from others at table though. Wouldn’t go again sadly.

Food was terrible definitely not fresh food. Such a shame when you go out for dinner and the whole experience is so bad. Hopefully we don’t get food poisoning from the rubbery funny tasting prawns.

We went for a Sunday roast which was one of the best I have had in a pub. I highly recommend. The style of the pub so also very cosy and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Popped in for a drink. Understaffed considering how busy it was.

Great for visiting Clacton....and other places! Small parking area, but really nice staff and lovely food.

Well kept pub with excellent food and service.

Dropped in for a bite to eat and coffee, service was excellent, the owner helped me into the pub as i had a pram, he went out especially to get me some oat milk! The food was delicious , I ordered jacket potato and coronation chicken with the added salad and coleslaw big portion, friendly atmosphere and great music!

Why go to TleS? If you do - this place is great. We went for the Gin tasting at the East Coast distillery and what a good combination. 👍

Called in here as staying at Lifehouse Spa who hadn't been able to cater for a food allergy in their restaurant. Glad we did as the homemade pizza was fantastic! If you are ever nearby you should try it or even go instead of ordering usual delivery pizzas. Much better and very reasonably priced. Service very efficient - staff friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Thank you

Kamer 3 is een schone kamer. Dat is erg fijn. De badkamer en toilet zijn schoon, de kitranden zijn schoon. Op 1 van de tegels heeft in het verleden een pompje of iets dergelijks gehangen voor de shampoo. De restanten kit zijn daar nog zichtbaar. Met een mesje is dit eenvoudig te verwijderen waarna het er weer mooi uitziet. De lakens zijn schoon, het bed is netjes opgemaakt. Koffie en thee corner met de koekjes op de kamer is als dankbaar ontvangen. Ontbijt begint om 8 uur s'morgens. Daar heb ik geen gebruik van gemaakt, want de ferry haar laatste moment om te boarden is ook 8 uur. Er zit een Mac Donalds in de haven, en op de ferry kun je ook ontbijten. De keuze is reuze 😉

Came here for a tribute act and decided to have dinner too. Pre warned them several weeks before we were vegans. Well what can I say, what was dished up was something a 5 year old could have made better. It was suppose to a vegan cottage pie!!! I wished I had taken a photo. Sadly left most of it. It was mainly potato and no flavour. We also ordered hummus and olives for a starter. The hummus was tasteless and there were no olives until I asked if I read the menu wrong. I do hate to moan because having a business is hard work these days, but really they need to get their act together. This is the second time I’ve tried the place. Sadly not feeling the urge to go back. Shame as it’s only 5 minutes around the corner.

I really like this pub its warm , cosy and quite friendly atmosphere. However came here the other night for food and what I ordered was not exactly what I received , for the price it was tiny ! Me & partner both questioned this to the waiter as we were not happy , they offered us an extra portion but mentioned it would only be this one off time , which I said that be great but I just won’t order it again . I understand costs have gone up but you can’t charge £15 for 3 chunks of chicken with few onions and Ton of chips ! I know it don’t cost that much . Anyhow apart from that the food was good and service good , just a shame the portions have shrunk .

Out performs nearby Premier Inn for comfort and service. Price included cooked to order breakfast. Menu for evening meal had good choices. Totally lovely

Popped in on the off chance, staff very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately that’s where the good finished. Food poor. Really poor. Maybe an ideal place to take your in-laws, if you don’t like them.

Had a lovely meal with drinks. There was a quiz night we joined, which was lots of fun.

Perfect. Prijs / kwaliteit 100%. Heerlijk schoon en netjes. Mensen aardig en behulpzaam. Bar gezellig. Helemaal top. Enig opmerking: stond een stofzuiger en dozen in de zaal savonds en de volgende ochtend? Waarom?

We had dinner here. The food was good and freshly prepared and good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets were clean. The only downside was a shortage of onsite parking, though it was easy to park on the road outside. We didn't stay, so I can't rate the rooms.
