The best restaurants in Withersfield St Edmundsbury East of England

Totally impressed with the owners of this establishment. From the attention over the phone when I booked, to the warmth from them on arrival. (Michael I think) was super generous with his time, explaining the incredible South African dishes on the menu. The food was stunning, the attentiveness was perfect and our boys were super giddy about the ales on tap! I actually had a vegetarian, spaghetti with haloumi....who would have thought that would work...super tasty!

A beautiful cosy country pub in a lovely village, Tina & Danny are great landlords and always accomodating. I love coming here for a coffee and catch up with friends and meals out with my family.

well run place nice staff . Many people eating ,will call again, i think the village run it to keep it in the community , nice idea. john

Nice little country pub. Home cooked food and a great selection of draft beers.

What a fab stopover, we had 2 nights here around our son's wedding, couldn't have asked for better service. We has 2 great meals including a Sunday lunch for 17 of the family. The staff couldn't have been more accomodating. Water available and loos when the pub was open and level parking. Lovely walks through the fields with our dog, highly recommended. Thank you

Booked a 7pm table for four people after searching for local pubs/restaurants that we'd not tried before. The main dining room is light and spacious with tables not too cramped together, also the seating is comfortable, i.e. no hard chairs. The main bar is separate which I'm sure the regulars appreciate. It has a large garden and outdoor seating area that will be great in the warmer weather (rather too cold on our visit). The staff were friendly and efficient but not too pushy. We were all impressed by the size of the portions and quality of the food served, and left feeling like we'd certainly had our money's worth. The bill was very reasonable, certainly cheaper than some other places we'd visited previously. Overall, a very pleasant first experience and we all agreed that we'd return in the summer. Went today for Sunday lunch . Served by Jen who was really attentive and knew what she was doing . Everything was all good .. if I had to offer Improvements the main could have been slightly hotter otherwise it’s a 9/10 .

My meal was served to me and meat was off, tasted awful and smelt. I asked for no gravy my meal was taken away and gravy was washed off and re served back to me. My second meal was still off. Staff membrr said chef said meat was ok. I will not be returning.!!! A number of other people in party said it was off too. Not a pleasant experience.
