Great lunch , with a beautiful view on a sunny day .

I have visited The White Horse on several occasions for lunch. The place is really friendly and down to earth. A traditional pub. The menu is simple with plenty of comforting dishes at reasonable prices. The food had been consistently excellent on every occasion - fresh and beautifully cooked. Compliments to the chefs! The service is also just right and has always been with a smile. A pleasure to eat here. Thank you.

This is a traditional friendly pub. The pint of beer I had was clearly cared for and tasted superb. I'm avoiding saying what it was as I suspect all the beers are as good so it's a matter of preference. The staff where very helpful. I will go again. And again.....

The room was spacious with a lovely comfy bed. Nice, quiet location with good views. However, the accommodation was not very clean and I found lots of dust under the bed, dead flies on the blinds and the shower curtain had black mould on it. The furniture was chipped and could do with a bit of TLC. This place has a lot to offer and the cleanliness let it down.

All the food was great and the service was excellent.

Sunday roast a terrific disappointment. An hour's wait for a poor meal.

Not a great walk up the lane in the dark

Very disappointed with our Sunday lunch. Two of our party had to have their dinners reheated. All of us had cold cauliflower cheese, the rest of the vegetables were barely warm. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were nice, meat average. What really spoilt the dinner was that everything was swimming in tasteless gravy. The waiting staff were excellent, efficient and very pleasant. We will not be booking a Sunday lunch there again.

Lovely staff and decor. However Food was sub standard for a place that has been around so many years. I’ve eaten here some years before and it was great. This time, sadly not. Friend was served something That they didn’t order and quality of the food for us all was just average. For the food price it was expected not to be high end, but sadly even the desserts were dubious. It’s not hard to do pub standard dishes well. Simple good pub grub, should be quite simple to get right. Tonight, it seems the chef was having an off day. Staff were brilliant, and the decor great. Food quality needs to be closely reviewed.

Went to the White Horse on Wednesday 29th December. From the time we arrived(party of 6) we were made to feel very welcome by the two young ladies attending us, the food was superb as was the service , would recommend to anyone First class

I just recently held my late wife’s wake at the pub. The staff made everyone feel very welcome. The food that was laid on, was of good quality and generous portions. They Also know how to keep beer and serve it correctly. Would use and recommend to others.

Lovely place to stay ,staff was very friendly and helpful ,food was lovely and the rooms where really spacious,clean and had everything we needed would definitely stay again .

Nice lot of space outdoors on a sunny day. Lovely menu with gorgeous soft bread for me sandwich. Cheddar and chutney with fabulous chunky chips.

Great countryside pub with variety of lager and ales. Coors on tap, with spacious outside area and plenty of seating. Good for family or few friends catching up

Food was amazing especially the White Horse burger and the gammon.

Very average rooms, need a little refresh. Shower a trickle, toilet wobbled, 'garden' room and garden needed some love. Wouldn't rush back.

Lovely little pub went to a birthday party there food was excellent staff very pleasant nothing to much trouble I will be going back although it's 25 miles away.

Very nice place, wonderful staff, very hospitable. Only small criticism is that there is no bin in the rooms, there is one for sanitary products in the bathroom but not a general waste bin in the rooms for rubbish. Also because the rooms are a converted out building they can be a little noisy at night when people don't shut the main door quietly, maybe a sign on the door to remind people to be courteous. But a very wonderful place would definitely stay again. Food is amazing and staff are so friendly and helpful.

The Whitehorse is a lovely friendly pub. The staff are really very nice and the food is great. That's it. We definitely recommend you come and enjoy the pub.

The food was cooked to perfection and even though we were warned on arrival that there would be a long wait (we didn't book and there was already two large groups) we were served in good time by lovely staff

Beer was good, snacks were good, can't comment food, reasonable price. Atmospheric but quite a small bar. Nicely decorated and homely.

We have eaten here a few times and the food has been generally good, but it is quite expensive, something like £17 for a risotto.

Went for lunch at about 12.45 and it was quite busy. There was five of us. The lady said there was going to be 30/40 minute wait for our food. Order our food. There was a wait but they apologised again. When the food came it was very good. A couple had Ploughman’s lunch which was very generous size. I had a BLT sandwich which came with chips which was very nice generous amount of bacon. Others had Jacket potato. They again apologised about the delay. Good food. Would go back again

Booked well in advance for a large party of 14, Sunday lunch roast beef dinner, the meal arrived as a big piled up heap that looked a complete mess, the beef could have souled shoes very effectively, the only thing on the plate that was ok the Yorkshire puddings, apart from being terrible it was all stone cold, not recommended at all, shame as it used to be very nice a few years ago

We held our monthly meeting for our 41 Club (past members of Round Table) at The White Horse Inn and were not disappointed. The food was well presented by friendly efficient staff. The venue is like a traditional English Pub

Always a friendly welcome, great Lunch menu & nice selection on Main menu too. Has lovely accommodation too with a good selection of Ales, Wines & Beers .

Nice atmosphere good food average price fora main course is £10.00. Can recommend the Sunday lunch.
