Fantastic place decor and fab food

Wonderful meal that came out to us very fast and extremely tasty. The staff was super helpful and even one of the owners made me a non alcoholic floater coffee that is no longer a regular drink that you can get in most places I have visited. Will definitely visit again and try other dishes available maybe on a different day of the week. We had a traditional chicken roast dinner and they could not be more helpful. Thank you for accommodating a birthday girl a day before my actual birthday which was Monday. Would highly recommend a visit to this fantastic pub and restaurant.

Five stars are not enough for Jack and his team! We booked the Greyhound for our wedding reception on September 7th 2024. From the moment we first met with Jack, we knew we were in good hands. He was professional, efficient and attentive at all times. He provided us with various options for food, ensuring that all needs were catered for. So many guests commented on the selection and presentation of the food. We had received several quotes from other venues but Jack provided us with a very competitive package, suited to our needs and budget. We cannot fault this pub at all and would recommend to absolutely everyone!

We went to Greyhound Country Pub & Kitchen for a Sunday roast and really enjoyed it. Staff was friendly and efficient. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. Highly recommend! We will go there again – no doubt!

We have been here a few times now, both as a couple and with friends. It is a while since we have been here. Made to feel very welcome and the service was impeccable. Sunday lunch was very good. I had the trio of meats and my wife had the Veggie option Good value, I think given the quality of food and the service.

Had an unbelievable roast with the family…extremely friendly staff and the service was phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Popped along for dinner, from the moment we walked in, till paying our bill, the service was 1st. The food was also very very good, we shall definitely recommend & return with family & friends.

I can’t recommend this restaurant and the new owner Jack highly enough. We are both gluten free and the Sunday dinners here are amazing! Most restaurants idea of gluten free Sunday lunch is to remove the Yorkshire pudding and the stuffing (The best bits in my opinion) Jack goes above and beyond to make delicious gluten free Yorkshire puddings and stuffing. We eat out a lot and I can honestly say this is the best restaurant we’ve been to in terms of quality and deliciousness and very friendly atmosphere. We’ve been coming here for years and never once been disappointed. Very highly recommended.

Great food, good venue, good staff.

Went to Greyhound and Twenty One for our Wedding Anniversary after seeing recommendations on Facebook. We were not disappointed. There was a nice big car park, which is always a bonus. The staff were polite and welcoming and the food was amazing, really tasty and well presented. The dessert was delicious, Eton Mess Cheesecake, see pic. This is somewhere I will definitely return to. Absolutely loved it.

Nice food, nothing very exciting. Lacking the atmosphere you would find in a traditional pub restaurant. Fine I guess but not somewhere I would go back to.

The Greyhound and TwentyOne hosted our wedding mid-April and we cannot thank them enough. After being let down by our initial venue we contacted Jack and from the first phone call we were reassured that we were going to have a great day. Jack had great communication throughout with multiple meetings leading up to the big day, to ensure we could achieve what we wanted. Jack was enthusiastic and accommodating of vendors that we had already booked. The venue itself is beautiful and well maintained. We went to set up some personalised items the day before the wedding and there was staff unloading drinks orders, prepping food, and a window cleaner was onsite. It just shows the care that not only goes into an event but the upkeep of the building. On the day there was plenty of staff who were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible!!! All of our guests could not fault the food, and even the fussiest of eaters enjoyed the hot, fresh produce. You couldn’t not love it! They catered to our wedding breakfast mid afternoon as well as our evening food and the quality remained a high standard. We also didn’t want a wedding cake however the Greyhound were able to create an alternative with a brownie tower, which was an absolute hit. Nothing was left at the end of the night which is exactly what we wanted. Again, fresh and tasty! We cannot recommend them more highly, if you’re having a function/event and want a beautiful venue with great food then this is the place!! THANK YOU - Mr and Mrs Grace

Had the afternoon and evening at Greyhound and TwentyOne yesterday for a family wedding. The rooms were beautifully set out. Staff friendly and polite. Atmosphere was great.

Delicious family lunch for eight of us for Easter Sunday . Super roast dinner and very welcoming and patient team. Food was served without delay and was delicious! Thank you Jack and team.We will visit again when in the area.

Had a Sunday lunch for myself and 8 close friends. The food was amazing and the portion sizes were incredible. Really lovely staff who were happy to help out. We stumbled across this restaurant on the way home from a long journey. Incredible food and service, highly recommended to anyone to visit. Best meal we've had out for a long while!

On our way down to Leeds Castle stayed overnight close by. This pub had good reviews so we can give it a try. No regrets. Worth a 20 minute drive from where we were staying. Modern clean, lively pub. Proper home-cooked food. Brilliant service by the son of the owners Jack. Service the way it used to be and should be. Guiding us through the menu and what wine to drink with our meal. A true professional. Liver and bacon, just like my grandma used to make:) Great experience would highly recommend.

Just been to the Greyhound for Sunday lunch while away for a short break in the area. Couldn’t fault the experience - super friendly service, quick and efficient and most importantly a great Sunday roast.

Very good food as always. However I would ask for extra gravy if you're having a Sunday roast and avoid the triple cooked chips if you're having fish. I'm afraid they taste like over cooked burnt potato . The berry Sunday was absolutely delicious

Went with friends for lunch and being a Coeliac and having been before I knew the food would suit me and I wasn't disappointed. Plenty of choice and they went through the menu with me. I had the pork belly with all the trimmings including a Yorkshire pudding! A real treat. Excellent portions and delicious. Followed by lemon posset. Very friendly and helpful staff, very pleasant atmosphere, will certainly be back again!

Arrived for an impromptu Sunday Lunch as the kitchen was closing but they fitted us in. Lovely roast beef with all the trimmings. Asked if there was more gravy (I like it swimming) but was told that they had run out (as we were the last lunches) however a few minutes later a jug of gravy arrived after it was made especially with the meat juices. First class Mother's Day lunch; we were delayed but the front of house staff managed things very well. The food was excellent, everything very well put together.

Thanks Jack and his lovely team for a fantastic evening last Saturday. It was my brother's 50th birthday so we were a group of 14 and we were very well looked after. Everyone was extremely happy with the quality of their starters, mains and deserts. Personally I had the port belly which was really tasty. Crispy where it should be while the meat was moist and tasty. The veg and other sides were really nice and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rolo cheesecake for desert was to die for and the other deserts on the table looked fab. Jack was a joy to communicate with in the run up to the meal and was very flexible with our groups ever changing size and personal requests. The whole evening ran very smoothly and professionally and we felt very well looked after. The birthday boy (at 50!) was very happy and they went out of their way to make him feel special with candles on desert and let him order something that was not even on the menu. Overall very impressed and can recommend whatever your occasion or group size. Thanks Jack and team.

We have tried on two separate occasions to eat here, you would think on a Friday & Saturday night (not on consecutive weeks) that they would have enough capacity to accommodate a table for 2…. To be greeted and told they’re fully booked, with an empty car park and that they only buy enough ingredients to cater for their bookings is complete nonsense. An empty restaurant at 7:30pm is a concerning affair. Don’t bother wasting your time unless you’ve booked a week in advance…..

Service - excellent, on arrival the bar man instantly greeted us with the tables name although being 15 minutes early but the place was busy. empty drinks glasses were topped up as soon as finished as well as the dogs water bowl, food order was taken swift and prompt adapting the menu to suit a vegetarian as well. Constant smiles and interaction with the diners. When we finished eating, we didn’t instantly get asked if we wanted the bill on clearing the plates. We finished our drinks at our leisure and didn’t feel rushed and asked for the bill. Food - wow, nachos homemade, veggie burger was outstanding. perfectly cooked halloumi so it didn’t squeak on your teeth. Only thing lacked was dressing on the salad but that’s being picky. Roast beef wasn’t strip loin but also the price represented that it was very good value for money. Roast garnish was perfect, Yorkshire pudding was homemade and fluffy along with the potatoes were crunchy on the outside and fluffy like a cloud on the inside. This chef knows his stuff, hitting his GP’s ( even with these inflation times ) but delivering great value and quality to the guest. Wow!! That’s coming from a chef (myself) of 22 years. Decor - a very well cared for building. A business owner who is very in love with his / her business. Clean, modern and stunning. An absolute hidden gem! although a 30 minute drive away from where we live. We will be back for more as there is nothing like this near us. It’s not pretentious or over charging but is delivering professionalism with heart. Who ever owns this business should be very proud of themselves and there amazing team!!!

Chose the venue for a 21st Birthday,and so glad we did!!!! Pre-ordered our food which made it a lot easier as there were 20 of us to eat and was not disappointed.All 3 courses I had were delicious and could not fault anything ( and I think I can speak for all the other guests too) Although there was a booking of another table for 20 this did not affect the timings of food or drinks coming out for us or them which is a massive compliment to how efficient the kitchen staff and all staff in general operate. Greeted with smiles on entry and we left with smiles because of the fantastic night we had. Great hosts throughout the night,we will be coming back!. The Wickhambrook Greyhound & 21 will not disappoint you. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you.

After waiting for so long to dine here, pandemic and other health issues we finally had Sunday lunch. Serving staff were very attentive and friendly, dining room was a talking point amongst our group, very tastefully done. Food was great and plenty of it.

Nothing was too much trouble, everything was seamless. The food and service were impeccable. Both Jenny who did the flowers and Kathleen who did the cake were brilliant. We all had the most perfect day. If anyone is looking to hold a special event, you couldn't find anywhere better than The Greyhound.

A huge thank you to Jack and his hard working team for making today’s wake for my wife Denise’s mother (Jess Lifford) a very special occasion. Jack was really professional throughout all of the preparation and his attention to detail made the occasion a real success. His homemade food was absolutely first class and the buffet was superb. Denise only had to make a couple of calls before the event to Jack but he picked up everything she asked for perfectly and everything was absolutely in line with what she requested, so a really professional host. His staff were a real credit to him as they also did a great job! Lovely venue too, so we would highly recommend holding an event there as the whole experience was simply 5 star.
