Such a beautiful cosy pub, the owners were so lovely and welcoming, it was so cosy sitting by the fire, with the Christmas tree and Christmas lights. The food was 5 star, absolutely amazing, hats of to the chef! I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and the homemade chip were so good! My boyfriend had the Braai BBQ mix and I’m pretty sure he loves his meal more than me lol, he said it was amazing and wants to have everything off the menu ha. We are already telling our friends and family about this amazing place, my partner and I are already planning our next visit. Thank you so much :)

We came by this place after a walk and stopped for a quick drink just as the place was opening. What was supposed to be a quick drink turned into staying for dinner. On a dark chilly November evening, his place was so cosy! There were comfy seats near the fire. The decor comfortable and welcoming. The landlord gave us Jenga to play with while we waited for the kitchen to open for food. As well as more usual English pub food, there ware traditional south African dishes on the menu. I'd never had it before so gave it a try. The food was lovely. (For anyone watching their diet, it's good healthy food too by the way). As the evening went on, the place git busier and busier, so you may want to book. The bill at the end was reasonable too, no overpriced drinks! I would love to come back again and really recommend it.

I did a pin sticking pub pick for Suffolk Sunday lunch on Google maps and decided to give the Three ways pub a visit. After speaking to the landlord booked a table,as he seemed very nice on the phone taking the booking. The pub was over an hour away in an area not visited before. When we arrived the car park was nearly full,an indicator of a popular pub in a quite remote area. On entering was greeted by the landlord and our drink order taken. At least 2 real ales on tap, another good sign of popularity for a rural pub. We were seated and our lunch order quickly taken followed by a very quick service. Only managed half pint of beer before service. Vegetables served separate as was gravy. The meats and vegetables was just the right amount so no waste, Which left just enough room for cracking homemade dessert. A very nice landlord & landlady & friendly staff, and good food and service and price. Another trip in the offing. Well worth the trip down some very narrow lanes to find.

We visited the Three Ways in Cowlinge with friends. The pub is a lovely traditional British country establishment, and the extensive menu offers a combination of British pub favourites and some enticing South African dishes. Having opted to go for traditional starters which were really good, all of us chose from the South African options and we thoroughly enjoyed both the Bobotie (a lamb dish) and Potjiekos (a beef dish). We managed a couple of desserts between us, which were also lovely. The pub also has a good selection of beers and we were pleased that the evening represented great value for money. It is well worth a visit.

This pub is a gem. Stunning garden and very peaceful atmosphere - a fantastic 15 min drive out from Newmarket (where there are no decent pubs) along beautiful country road. Owners are very welcoming and the menu is brilliant with classics lime fish and chips (delicious) but also South African dishes. Can't wait to try their "foot long" sausages next time made at the local butcher with SA spices. Great real ale (something sadly lacking from Newmarket pubs), a gorgeous interior which we will enjoy visiting in winter. We have tried a few country pubs around Newmarket since my son moved to the area and this one is the best by miles. I couldn't understand why it was not busier on a Saturday night! Don't hesitate to go.

The Three Ways is a cosy, country pub beautifully located in the village of Cowlinge. It has traditional beams, a wood burning stove & you are greeted upon entering with the warmest of welcomes from the resident cocker spaniel! Sunday lunch includes a fine selection of roasts, simply cooked with all the usual accompaniments, plenty of freshly steamed vegetables & as much gravy as you could wish. Puddings, from a mini blackboard brought to your table, are very good & include sticky toffee sponge with salted caramel ice cream & plum & frangipane tart with vanilla ice cream. Service is friendly & efficient & with coffee by the fire after our meal we could happily have whiled away the rest of the afternoon there! It gets very busy on a Sunday so book.

Booked a table at this pub/restaurant after checking out reviews. The starters were very tasty, no complaints there, the mains were, on the whole, good but I must say I was disappointed with the ‘real’ chicken and mushroom pie, it was quite dry and the pastry very thick for the amount of filling. There was a separate serving of gravy but it didn’t bring much to the party, the veg however was cooked to perfection. Apart from the one dog lover at our table the rest of us were less than impressed with the two mutts wandering into the restaurant area and sniffing round the tables, one actually put his two front paws on my chair and hauled himself up to get a better smell of the aforementioned pie ! So, a mixed bag on this one hence to star rating.

The steaks were excellent with virtuallly no fat, the chips were 'standard' size and crispy. for desserts we both had an excellent sticky toffee pudding. I had booked this for a family sunday lunch as we were visiting my daughters who live in the Newmarket area. I went by ratings on Trip advisor and booked here. It was a great meal a lovely home cooked Sunday lunch. The vegetables came in serving dishes put on the table. We all love our veg so i did ask for another dish as there was 8 adults. These came promptly as did the extra gravy i requested. Everyone enjoyed the meats they had ordered particularly the belly pork with awesome crackling according to those who had chosen it, and meat portions were very generous. The deserts were also really lovely and the waiting staff friendly and efficient. Would definitely visit again as it was warm and cosy so great on a cold winters day. I have noticed several restaurants i have eaten in during the last couple of years do not always make sure that your surroundings are warm and draught free and have left soon as i have eaten due to being freezing, so the Three ways was such a pleasant change, if you find yourself that way i would definitely call in and if you have time for a meal even better.

Have visited this charming pub/restaurant twice this year and both times have not been disappointed. The pub is warm and welcoming with a log burner and comfy seating. There is a choice of where to eat, the dining room or a table in the bar area, both of which are comfortable with a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious with a nice choice of starters and mains and the specials board was lovely with a few choices away from the norm which were great. Cant comment on the puds as we were too full to try them!! Will try them next time!!

We were looking to try a new venue for Sunday lunch and following the reviews we booked here and were not disappointed. Very friendly welcome, papers to read, lovely relaxed atmosphere and the most fantastic dog who curled up beside us on the sofa as we ordered and had drinks before lunch. We had 3 courses, each a delight. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is divine. Roast beef was cooked rare and just melted it was so tender, lots of vegetables were served along with the roast and all cooked too perfection with amazing roast potatoes (this is where I find most places fail on). The roast was exactly what we wanted (we had all starved ourselves beforehand) the starters and puddings were equally delicious and it was all so good we've already booked to go back. Can highly recommend and the icing on the cake was proper coffee to finish. The Three Ways is a terrific find, we can't wait to go back.

This was our second visit since Sue and husband resumed the running of the pub.We took friends from Rutland who were looking for a good night out,we weren't disappointed,a good choice of well kept beer at the bar to choose from is always a must.Three of us had fish pie which was filled with chunks of various types of fish and covered with crusty potato and cheese served up in individual baking dishes, five types of vegetables came as well. The plates were piping hot,a detail often missed in restaurants and shows the Chef is doing their best to please the customer. We finished off with Puddings of ice cream and spotted dick and custard just what was needed on a windy winters night.Well done and thanks for a lovely night.p

Arranged to meet friends from Norwich 27th Jan for a birthday surprise but needed a place somewhere in between us, out came the map and found this wonderful pub. it was worth the drive!.The very friendly customers staff, old country pub atmosphere and really good food was exactly what we were after.Portions were great, pies were delicious cheesecake to die for. But there were quite a few choices so everyone was happy. For a Wednesday night I could not believe how busy they were, talking to one of the locals they have different themed nights too, you could tell he was really prod of his local. There was something for everyone. We could still chat to our friends, but it was lovely to hear chat and laughter. Wish it was closer, I would love to have this place as my own local.

A lovely place we haven't been to in years has been renovated lovely, we arrived and must admit wasn't impressed with the bar tender who didn't greet us or even ask if we wanted a drink. After waiting for the landlady we were shown our table and after were given a menu a few things had sold out (but must be a sign of good food as it had been sold night before) and we weren't given a child's menu was expected to choose a Sunday lunch for them (which we would of chosen but just would of been nice for them to have a menu) the meal was lovely and waitress very good and helpful said we could have more veg and gravy if needed (it wasn't) the meal was excellent and fresh and we had pudding which was also tasty we wasn't kept waiting too long , there was a lovely fire going in the main bar with a very friendly dog who my girls loved on the whole an enjoyable meal maybe an idea for the future would be a colouring for children to do while waiting don't have to be much just a picture of a dog and pot of crayons but thank you

Sue and Chris are very friendly and although we only get to visit periodically they always remember us as do a number of the locals who make new customers and occasional visitors like us always welcome. Have been to two of their themed Tapas nights and are going to a third soon. All the dishes are freshly cooked by Sue and with entertainment laid on as well the evening is fantastic value for money. On a cold winters Sunday afternoon, grab a pint and Snuggle down in a comfy chair next to the fire and it is hard to leave, in the summer you also have a great outdoor area as well. Worth a drive out, give it a go.

Went to The Three Ways in Cowlinge last Sunday for lunch with my family what a lovely little country pub I had the roast beef for lunch the roast potatoes were fantastic probably the best I've ever had, the rest of the meal was pretty awesome too for pudding l had a nut slice which was also very nice. All off the food was freshly cooked which is always a big plus in my book, the restaurant was very cosy with only four tables but people were eating in the bar but I would recommend that you book in advance so that you are not disappointed. The service was very good if a little slow but I guess that's the price you pay for fresh.

Must say how great this little pub is. Warm and welcoming country pub with great food, we don't often like to get a Sunday lunch out as it's never as good as at home but here it was brilliant!! Meat was lovely, and plenty of veg cooked nicely alongside portions of cauliflower cheese. Plenty of gravy brought to the table as well. The bar tender and waitress were both very helpful and welcoming, service was perfect not one problem. Will be visiting again soon!!!

We had not been to this old pub for over a year and was pleasantly surprised to see the original owners were back in charge.A large fire was burning and they have redecorated throughout ,the rustic charm has been kept and transports you back to a time long gone.Five real ales to choose from ,I chose Adnams which was in perfect condition,a starter of olives, bread and dips was followed by a slowly braised lamb dish, finished off with a trio of ice cream, all delicious.Well worth a visit, these places must not be allowed to go under.

My wife & I enjoyed a fabulous evening at The Three Ways pub at Cowlinge last night.Since the original owners, Sue & Chris returned to this cosy pub earlier this year the pub is going from strength to strength. After a perfect pint of Woodfordes Nog and a tasty rose wine in front of the warm fire, we sat down to a sumptuous three course meal.Everything was delicious, all obviously home made and served impeccably. For starters I had the tasty Spanish Fabada and my wife had the very fresh whitebait. Our main courses were again delicious - I enjoyed the venison bourguignon pie, filled with plenty of meat in a tasty shortcrust pastry & my wife said she had the tastiest fish pie she'd every had.The sticky toffee pudding with a creamy custard was again probably one of the best I've ever enjoyed, while my wife enjoyed a homemade brownie with fresh cream. Our hosts Chris, Sue and the attentive waitress (sorry we didn't get your name) were so friendly and welcoming. After being let down by several overly priced pub restaurants in the area recently, we're so pleased that we visited this pub for what was a memorable meal at sensible prices. We thoroughly recommend a visit to this great gem of a pub - you won't be disappointed! We'll be back again very soon.

Lovely warm friendly pub. Loved the dog ! Great real ales. Nice wine. Reasonable prices. Had the lamb was lovely. Paella looked lovely. Fussy friends liked it too. Did ask for a big bowl of chips to share but one small bowl came out they looked under cooked but were actually very nice. Little stingey on veg portions. Had a pud of loaded chocolate brownie it was superb. Afraid travelled 40 mins to get here which is why we probably won't be returning. I would be pleased if it was my local.
